I, personally, blame Tumblr.
Who knows.
I, personally, blame Tumblr.
It's probably because the characters whose sexuality actually is apart of their character are so few or so grossly presented, that people of the LGBTA+ group have to resort to pretending/applying sexualities to characters who have unclear, unstated, or unspecified sexualities or genders to feel comfortable about themselves.
Sexuality isn't and shouldn't be treated like a character trait in my opinion. If a character is homosexual, good for them. It's like saying being female is a defining character trait. Sure, it's something important to know, but it doesn't define you.
On the topic of that, why are developers so afraid of putting gay characters in their video games? There's a decently sized community behind it they're basically ignoring by acting like they don't exist.I meant "apart of their character" as just kinda there. Like it's just stated to be canon off hand or something. Simply put, there's just not many LGTBA+ characters in media and video games (That are presented healthily at least.) I'm not saying being gay should be a character trait, I'm saying that the amount of characters who have been confirmed to be gay are so staggeringly low in quantity that it causes people to start applying their sexualities onto characters that haven't been said to not be.
Er, I mean: *puts on down with cis t-shirt*
Birdo, and Vivian from the Paper Mario games is a guy too.
nobody plays that game, also is mewtwo still all over for glory?
Is for this type of reasoning that we can't have nice things.
