The Voice Acting in Indivisible

So the casting began for Indivisible. As we all know the amazing Cristina Vee is directing the voice acting... And so far i can say what we saw was amazing!

So far we have Cassandra Lee Morris (Morgana in Persona 5) as Ginseng (unless Honey is a ventriloquist and making it like Ginseng is talking :^) )
Sunil Malhotra (Prince Wu in TLOK) as Tungar.
Tania Gunadi (Miko Nakadai in Transformers: Prime) is also doing a role in the game but we don't know who yet?
And i think Christine Marie Cabanos was on a pic alongside Cristina and Cassandra so it's likely she's in the game too. (but as who we don't know... :^) )


So uh, any actors you wish to see in the game ?

No wishlist on voice actors from me. I'm just hoping all of the Prototype VA's and maybe some SG alumni can get bits, if possible. Kai and his wife definitely put in a lot of work during the campaign, so I'd really love to hear them in the game somewhere if they can do it.

Otherwise, I really just look forward to being surprised. I don't think the picks Cristina's made so far were on anyone's list, but they all sound great, and I think that's really exciting.

Speaking of which, I was doing a little research on Tania, since I only knew of her work from Transformers. I feel like they gave her a big part, but it's hard to say which one. Her past roles definitely favor a certain character, but her voice could easily go a few directions. I'm looking forward to finding out who it is!

I suspect she is Ajna's new voice (sorry i might have pointed the obvious :^) ). Idk what i've heard of her really fits the character and I kinda feel like casting a va who was already in Skullgirls as the mc would be a bit weird.

And same, I really hope Kai Kennedy shows up somewhere along with his wife too.


Also playing Heroes a bit and i realized Misty Lee could be a good fit for Phoebe ? Her Titania voice is perfect and this is honestly kinda how i imagine Phoebe sounds like.

I'm really open in regards to the cast, surprises are always fun, but I do agree, it'd be nice to hear some of the SG alum in here. They've got quite some range, so transforming into totally new characters wouldn't be an issue.

So excited to hear more! I love what I've seen heard so far!

We got Pia Shah for Qadira!
Apparently she does voice overs and had roles in some tv shows such as Grey's Anatomy...
I'm sorry i'm quite bad with live-action stuff ;;

Yeaa I hope he manages to get a role here too... Kai did a lot for the campaign plus he's very good on that whole acting thing.

Well... Kai did stream last night after being SUPER busy.

Knowing the man and how he does music and now currently voice acting for a ton of games. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back Later to do a role for Indivisible.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't in the studio just yet.

Looks like you can still find them under playlists now, but yeah, most are unlisted. Would unlisting Vasco's video cause the whole playlist to disappear? That might be why they left it alone.

I'm really glad they gave her a spotlight for AX. Y'know we had already been figuring she was Ajna when her name dropped, and once Stephanie was confirmed for Raz there was really no doubt.

Depending on how they direct her, I think Tania can hit a lot of similar tones that Gina did. I'd been listening to some clips of her and noticed that her VA roles tended to be for much more over-the-top characters than her onscreen stuff.

It'll be nice to hear her voice not only in a leading role for a change, but also playing a character that actually takes herself a little more seriously.

I hope they keep her tomboy personality. I'm too used to Italian dubbing standards in which almost all VAs are really good at voicing a restricted range of tones, so her vice in that video didn't give me a good impression, bu I'm sure she could pull some tomboy-ish Ajna.
 
Well in her video she was speaking with her normal voice so yeah.

Here's what she can do voice-acting wise though! I'm using her Miko role because its literally the only thing i saw her in (and IASIP but yeaaah live-action isn't the same.)

I myself think her voice is perfect, esp if she does something similar to her role on Miko.

She can do more vilanous-ish, more gruff voices too, here's one such example :
(at 1:47)


But yeah I hope that main role will help her becoming more popular too! I'd love to see her voice in some other stuff.

During the pre-show Ben did say he was doing work on Indivisible, but he didn't specify a part. I guess it's still a secret for now.

Dhar actually had a voice in the demo Mike was playing, but the sound wasn't clear enough to really tell whose voice it was. Ben's got such a range that you almost can't rule anything out.

Yeah it could be anyone, maybe a character not officially revealed too
 
Complete cast so far, to end any and all speculation:

Ajna: Tania Gunadi
Dhar: Ben Diskin
Ginseng: Cassandra Morris
Qadira: Pia Shah
Razmi: Stephanie Sheh
Tungar: Sunil Malhotra
Zebei: Matt Mercer​

We haven't cast anyone else at this time, since we're still writing battle VO for the next batch of characters.

He's also the only voice actor who's keeping (reprising?) his role from the prototype.
 
Oooh that's one nice cast! Can't wait to hear everyone. So far what we've heard has been fantastic.

Funny that Matt is the one staying from the prototype... I admit he was my least favorite voice in the prototype haha :')
If Zebei goes "I'LL END IT THUS" i think i'll lose my shit.

I honestly like the voice for Zeb in the prototype, so hearing that Matt's returning for the role makes me a bit more happy--
And honestly, if I can hear Zeb say "It's hiiiigh noon" that'll be the day when I ascend to the heavens (Don't mind me, Closeted OverWatch trash coming through)

Yo Zebei's was my favourite. Nice.

Also pls no loads of references in the game. A lot of people including mostly me started to hate them ever since Borderlands TPS.

I mean occasionnal references don't hurt (I mean didn't Skullgirls had colors based on characters the vas voiced) but yeah... Please no memes. This stuff tends to be out of date fast.
 
Color palettes referencing other characters are dope. My problem is maymays.
 
Super awesome news that Matt still gets to be Zebei! I had a really hard time imagining him with any other voice. I think Matt nailed Zeb's shift between confident and cool, to dorky nervous down perfectly.

I kinda thought his prototype voice sounded a bit too old? Can't wait to see how the new take on our resident archer will be.

Also I just realized Antonio Del Rio would make a PERFECT Tenoch and now I literally can't imagine another VA for him. Dude is a very good voice-actor and i kinda want him to be in more stuff. He did a pretty good job as Blue Beetle in Injustice 2

They might tweak his performance a bit, but I definitely think he had a natural fit for the character. Now that we know Ben is Dhar, I think those two voices will play off each other really well. If we don't get to hear some heated Dhar-Zeb arguments in the game, I'll be sad.

Speaking of heated, I think it's really cool how fired up Pia seems to be about playing Qadira. It sounds like she really wants to own that role. We don't know if Qadira is a major part or not, but I'm excited to hear what that kind of enthusiasm will bring for the story dialogue.

Yeah i did find some of his lines perfect in the prototype like the "Hey Ajna I got this one!" where he sounds a bit anxious. Well i guess the prototype did manage to convey the fact he's a show-off in battle but out of it is pretty shy. I just thought he sounded a bit too old with that voice :^) I admit playing the prototype i expected a higher pitched voice, oh well.

But yeah the man has a lot of range (he was three characters in FE Fates and none sounded similar to each other) so i'm not worried. Plus I guess i might grew used to his voice after a while 'w'
I kinda think i'd stop complaining if his voice sounded like Matt's take on Spyro in that Skylanders game, forgot which one....

And yeah! Pia Shah is a great fit for the character, glad she was chosen for the role because i think she deserves to be in way more stuff. Loving that determined tone she has for Qadira.

So now that the backer preview has been released and we got to hear the new vas... Who's your fave? Who do you like in particular?

I'd begin by saying I really like Tania Gunadi as Ajna, she really nailed that spunky girl feel I figured our heroine had. Couldn't really tell if the quotes that were already in the prototype were new recordings or reusing of her previous va...

I admit I prefer Razmi and Tungar's new voices too. Zebei doesn't really sound different but i don't mind at all.

Ginseng and Dhar's voices are perfect fits for the characters imo... I'd say Qadira's voice is the one that didn't do it really for me, though it might be because she's the character i used the less so far so I didn't really got to listen to her voice a lot.
I do admit her calm voice contrasts with the other more hammy characters so that's good.

Dhar is THE MOST ANIME CHARACTER with THE MOST ANIME VOICE!

Qadira's voice when joining the party sounds a little weird, but her battle lines are great. The more I listen the more she sounds like Naoto Shirogane. Buuut Naoto's voice never pulled off a convincing faux-masculine tone to me.

There's still a bit of GK's voice in Ajna's lines, which is a tad janky, but understandable. They probably didn't want to have Tania record stuff that would only be used in the Prototype/Preview for chasing Roti. Tania's voice suits Ajna even better than I was expecting. I think she'll be a natural fit once we hear more dialogue.

Sunil's voice actually took the most adjustment for me, since it was the first time I'd visualized it with Tungar, but I couldn't help but smile the more I heard him. His energy really fits the character. I do wish the volume on some of his grunts was a little higher though, since the urumi makes a lot of noise when it's whipping everything.
