Probably from the fact that in the poem, Beowulf literally wrestles Grendel before ripping his arm off and killing him.

oh an American Dog vs a far superior Soviet Russian Wolf? Might be a wonderful beat down, I mean cover Art... dah. That is meaning that I wanted to say.
 
Nah Beowulf is Scandinavian Canopian. I wonder what a Soviet country counterpart in Skullgirls would be.
 
well... maybe... idk... the Gigans that we have seen don't really have major Russian ties. Maybe we just need some more insight of them. Alex Ahad might be willing to answer question if we can nab him on his facebook or something.
 
I just finished watching Beowulf's voiced story mode, I really loved Kai's performance and Annie sounded great as expected.
I only wish Beowulf had a speaking role in Robo's story mode so we can hear more of those dulcet tones.

well then... in light of this. Denizen do you feel like rounding up the wulf pack and having an official launch party fight off stream? We could get Kai in on it if he's available.
 
omg Beo's story is like at least 2x more funny with voices. Kai is truly amazing XD

Kai puts so much soul into it, he loves being Beowulf.

Suuuuuper late response (I blame I recently got into the forums after getting into the game and I am HOOKED! ...Shame I wasn't around in the early days...!) but I loved just how over the top and macho Beo's been! I mean, when you think on it, it's refreshing having someone like him lay the hurting down on a mess of characters out for the Skullheart and being an awesome wrestler at the same time!

I admit, I'm not used to the gameplay he offers, but I sure as heck love the guy dearly!
