Trajes Fatais - Brazil's 1-button fighter

dead

MUSCLE POWER
You've gotta try this game out, it's amazingly fluid. It uses the standard 8 directions for movement, but only has one attack button. They use a bunch of command normals to compensate, and supers use 646 amd 22 as motions. Combos use a system reminiscent of roman cancels and you can cancel most if not every attack into any other attack on block and hit. It also has this weird and really cool physics system, so some really silly interactions can happen when you clash attacks. It's my favorite simple fighter so far.

Here's a download page. They have 0.2.3 listed currently, but I've found it a bit unstable so I use 0.2.0. If that's the case for anyone else, I can post those files.

It's already been greenlit but if you want to give it a follow on steam, here's that link.

It's very Brazilian.

Edit: Here's the 2.0 files, seems to be more stable.

so I've been messing around with this while my family was on vacation and I have to say, while I love the artstyle and its all very fluid, I can't get behind the gameplay. It requires what feels like a lot of precision to get those cancels right. It's definitely something I could see myself spending a lot of time getting good at over the course of a month, but its very different from what I'm normally used to. Regardless, game is solid and I'll probably still support it on steam after it arrives just cause it left such a good impression on me.

I really just don't understand the one button gimmick. I'm all for trying to simplify execution and whatnot, but this actually seems more complicated, requiring too much joystick movement to go through too many command normals. Apparently you're even supposed to do up+button from the ground, which sounds like a recipe for disaster when it comes to accidentally jumping instead.

How about just making it two buttons, moving some of the odder directions to the second button? Surely that would make things a lot better, and I can't imagine even the most casual of casual players thinking two is too much.

Have you tried the beta?

So it only has one button to attack?
Neat!

Though I've not sure how combos would work with only one button.
I'm guessing it's sorta like playing puppet characters in fighting games.
(Where there combos depend heavily on directional inputs. =)

There's a new version up on their beta website now that solves a lot of the crashing issues. Also, make sure you add it to your anti virus's whitelist, avast was preventing me from running it.

I feel like they would do a lot better if they used an english crowdfunding platform.
Well, at least they have an english webpage and it accepts international credit cards. Sadly, no Paypal option: http://www.trajesfatais.com.br/catarse/

The 4-button change is nice but I'm not so sure about this new system and resurrection mechanic. But considering I didn't like the old "one-button" thing, it's better now.

I'm not feeling the resurrection mechanic. I'm a little disappointed that they are doing away with the single button system, it made the game super easy to pick up and play. My brother who only really plays smash felt at home with it.

It looks like the game is finally launching its crowd funding. Wish they had done it on something like IGG or KS, but well, oh well I guess.

Here is a video describing system mechanics. It actually sound really interesting.

Anyone know what kind of netcode they are hoping to have? That will be the ultimate decider as to whether I throw any money their way or not. I'm done with shitty netcode (except probably Rev2 because I'm a weak, weak man).

In any case, best of luck to them.

I discover this one today and rush here to make a topic, and already find one :D

I like the mechanics, seens interesting...

Im curious about opinion of an expert like @Mike_Z :P

EDIT: In the video about the B-side characters (his versions of "cloned" characters) they refers to the "Decapre problem" and the birth of Fukua :P (Sadly, only in portuguese..)
