I'm pretty new to fighting games, and I'm hungry to play all of them! Unfortunately, it's pretty hard to just jump into them, especially when you're new. Sure, some terminology and mechanics might be shared between fighting games, but they're actually all extremely different. So I thought we should make a forum to help Skullgirls players transition into other fighting games, and to help other players transition into Skullgirls!
So, how can we help people transition into other games? For starters, I think listing the character archetypes / styles is a fine place to start (Vortex, Shoto, Grappler, Charge, etc. and the differences between them). Also, what characters are good or bad for beginners to start out with. Other things we can mention are characters that feel similar (if any), tier lists (maybe sample-sized ones if the roster's are too big), most dangerous moves in the game, and more general, yet basic information about the game.
So, how's this gonna work? I'm gonna tune into here at least once a day, and I'll pick up questions and answers and stuff them into my post. The post will be kept nice and tidy using the spoiler tabs, that way you don't have to search too hard for the game you want to know about.
I'mma need some help from more experienced players though. Like I said, I'm new to fighting games, so I can't run around acting like I know what I'm talking about. I'll also try to get some players from other games to give me some information for this. Even if you aren't looking to play other games, you might want to check here, ya might learn something!

All the games will have this information:
- Character list
- Tier list
- Secondary name to describe a character, in case your bad at remembering names
- Archetypes (feels somewhat similar to what characters)
- Playstyles (defensive, rushdown, grappler, etc)
- Good players that play that character
- Good beginning characters
- Character's lore affiliation (good, bad, etc.)
- Platforms (PC, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, etc.)
- Game systems (EX meters, Rage, Tag-team, Air dash, 4-button, etc)
- Game modes (Arcade, Training, Tutorial, Lobby, etc)
- Game's age
