With a final entrants total of just over 170 entries, the Eliza Winpose Design Contest went down pretty well! Of course there could only be 3 winning designs and the staff at Lab Zero was kind enough to judge the entries to choose them. So for now, I'll turn you over to @render who gathered some thoughts from the team.

"Everyone on the team was frankly blown away by the range of creativity with the entries. It was extremely difficult to narrow it all down to just 3. There were obviously quite a few that were exceptional in terms of creativity, artisitic ability, execution, or all of the above. We'll share with everyone which ones we loved that didn't win at a later date, but for now, here are the winners.

1st place - @Greyscale ​

This design is exceptional for its bold use of colors, while also incorporating Eliza's blood theme in to the dress itself. It's elegant in its simplicity while still being really eye-catching. Just a stellar costume the whole team loved.

2nd place - @emlan ​

There were a number of designs that depicted Eliza in some sort of casual, every-day-life garb, and this one was the favorite for the team. It's cute and fun, and is overall very memorable. The bed hair is a particularly nice touch.

This entry is fantastic, and definitely deserves to be among the final 3. There's a lot going on in this one - from Eliza wearing Double's crown (after having ripped it off of Double, apparently), to the distressed face underneath her foot. Truly gruesome, definitely creative, and very well executed.

So there you have it! Render has mentioned there were several other honorable mentions that did not quite make it into top 3 and he'll get me a list when the team has a little more time, so stay tuned! I'll contact the winners now about getting their prizes to them.

On a side note, when drafting the original contest thread I forgot to mention the rule that all entries needed Eliza's staff in them. I fixed this error pretty fast but several entries were still submitted without it. Since that omission was entirely my fault it would have been totally unfair to exclude any entries submitted incorrectly because of it, thus any entry that was missing the staff was still accepted into the contest.

Thanks again for entering, everyone! I was truly floored by the amount of entries in this contest so we'll be sure to run plenty more contests on SkullHeart in the future. Sept 8 update:

The list of honorable mentions for the contest are finally in! These entries did not quite make it into the top 3, but were still all highly thought of by Lab Zero. Also, take note that this is a general consensus from amongst the LZ team at large - each member within the team obviously had their own favorites that may or may not be represented here!

Unfortunately there's no comments to go along with these, but just take it that LZ liked them :P

I love the dress in the first one. The second one is cute. And the third was honestly kinda shocking but still cool.

Aw, after Mike Z quoted my Mumm Ra I thought I had a small chance of winning something. Back to reality :p
Still the winners are really talented artist so it's no surprise they won.
 
These 3 were easily my favorites among the entries. The Double one being.my number 1.

Congratulations to the winners! My favorite out of those was @Stonechimes. The first was was nice with the manipulation of the blood to give it style while the second has its own flare that says "Nothing like cup of coffee to start the day." (Or is it coffee?)
 
I had my favorites, although they didn't win I'm happy for those that did.
 
Congrats to the winners! Definitely well-deserved! Though I didn't place, I still had a lot of fun with this contest and it was a lot of fun seeing all the cool costumes people came up with as well!

Utterly astonished by them all, they all deserve first place.

Hell, almost every single entry deserves 1st place, thanks everyone for being so friggin rad and participating in the contest, it was so much fun to watch everyone.

If anyone has any feedback on how the contest was run, please let me know. Was there any problems you think could be addressed next time? (This isn't a post fishing for "That was a great contest!" pats on the back. If you have any complaints I really would like to hear them! PM me if you want)

Random aside, I mentioned in the other thread that I felt a lot of the costume designs were over detailed, but I also said that the very detailed Double entry above was one of my favorites. Why this hypocracy? Basically, in the Double one all of the extra detail really shows how Eliza tore her to shreds. It's gruesome and the detail shows you how gruesome it was. Other entries I felt had a solid core design, but then just cluttered the whole thing up with unnecessary clothing folds, extra accessories or excessive detailing.
Stripping out a lot of the detail above would reduce the impact of the design. Stripping out a lot of detail on the others would just clean them up a bit.

My other point of critique on a lot of the entries was, "Why is Eliza wearing this?"

If you look at the in game designs, and the entries above, they all make sense for the character to a degree. Eliza would wear fancy clothes and fur coats, she's very old and could be a little behind the times on attractive swimwear designs, she does seem to hate Double and want to tear her to shreds.
But why is Eliza in a humongous steam powered armor? Why in a pilot's uniform?

Remember that I wasn't judging this, so my feelings are my feelings alone. My views on the contest could be totally off base from how LZ felt. I still massively enjoyed seeing all the entries submitted despite my critique though! The really bizarre looking ones had their own charm and often still looked great despite not fitting my ideal bill. :)
 
Well, there could have been an entirely separate thread only for contest entries, and comments and spam would go instead in the main contest thread. It would have been a lot neater for everyone's viewing, and the judges could just simply visit said thread for judging instead of having Cellsai tediously compile and rename each entry (I noticed that, good god).

Also I rationalize Eliza wearing all these costumes by the virtue of being a shapeshifter and liking to play dress up.

I knew the Double one was gonna place, but I had no clue about the other two spots. There were just too many entries.

Also, didn't notice Eliza's eyebrows in that Double one. Very nice touch.

Gosh there was so many pretty and creative entries I'm really excited to see that I placed! Group events with this much fun outcome are always so great!

I'm really happy and in shock! There were sooo many great designs that I thought would have been first choice.:,D But I'm very grateful and appreciative for the win so Thankyou to everyone and all those who entered.:)
