You ever just run into a character and just wish you could reach your hand into the gaming platform and RIP THAT CHARACTER'S EXISTENCE OUT OF THIS WORLD?! I have that sometimes. A hype upcoming game reminded me of one of them.

He upsets me. So much. I don't know why, but he does. The first time I saw Guilty Gear it was a match between two of these guys, and that's probably why I never played Guilty Gear. I can't even really pin point what it is, because it's everything. His movement, the noises, the thing on his head, all the random weird ass things he does, it all upsets me deeply somehow.

Anyway, I have several others, but I actively try not to keep things I hate at the forefront of my mind, so I don't remember right this second. But you guys too, if it's a character in a fighting game, or not, because of their personality, because of their voice actor, because of their story or relevance to the games story, whatever. Let's bash on some fictional characters! *Also people who like those characters can totally defend them, you have my permission*

Rosalina
Annie
Myself (because life is just a game)

It's not so much her that I hate I guess, just the fact that she consumes the entire plot of GS5 and is a complete freakin' mary sue. OK, it is her.

I haven't played that one yet (god have mercy on me) but isn't that what all the new characters in that game do? The new partner/prosecutor/attorney usually takes center stage in everything, don't they?

I think Skullgirls is the only game that's gotten me to actively hate a character, so I guess Double.
I'll check back later with more characters.
When there's a Kill la Kill game, Ragyo's on the list faster then the speed of sound.

Why do you hate Faust, he's so awesome ^^

Anyway. Talking about fighting games, I despise Spiral (X-Men Children of the Atom) for being too cheap. I used to hate vanilla Bloody Marie too.
But for fg I just feel indiferent about those characters who doesn't appeal to me.

Other characters I hate: Ashley Graham (RE4), most useless character in the franchise ever. A true piece of garbage, cheap fanservice.
Ryan Clayton (Beyond: Two Souls) is a scumbag. I can't like that asshole. I don't want to spoiler you, so...

I know that you can choose Jodie's love, but they forced Ryan into it too much. The guy is a total scumbag during most of the game, and yet they expect him to be Jodie's love interest? I don't know. He insulted her, manipulated her, lied to her and then he had the nerve to ask her if she loves him after the submarine mission? Is this guy fucking kidding her?
But I should take the "Love Ryan" path if I want the trophies lol

Yeah, I can see that argument, but I think it's a little different with Athena. Mostly due to the aforementioned mary-sue-ness. The other characters are constantly harping on about how amazing she is, and they will and do do crazy things to protect her, but we're never personally given any real reason to care for her or any explanation of why the other characters are so enchanted with her. Her entire 'arc' is a little unoriginal to Ace Attorney too... I won't spoil anything for you but basically, she's been done already.

Also, 3 main playable attorneys is just 2 too many, and Athena gets significantly more focus than Phoenix or, more importantly, Apollo.

I guess my answer was inevitable, but I dislike the majority of the characters in the Sonic franchise. Even the characters that were good in one game tended to be horrendous in at least one other. The characters that really get under my skin, however, are (in no particular order):

Silver
Big the Cat
Amy Rose (excluding Sonic CD, she was okay in that)
Charmy the Bee
Princess Elise
The entirety of the organization G.U.N.

If boss characters count, I simply must give my Least Favorite Character in Anything Ever Academy Award to King Boom Boo, for being the most obnoxious, hideous, annoying to fight Boo ripoff I have ever seen:

Edit: I wonder if anyone is going to ask me about G.U.N. :P

Big the Cat
OH MY FUCKING GOD, BIG THE CAT! The absolute worst part of Sonic Adventure! He made me upset when playing the game as a child, that's how bad he was! The one blemish in my nostalgia-tinted glasses of Sonic Adventure was any time they FORCED YOU to play as Big the Cat! He wouldn't have been as bad I think if he moved faster, or if fucking fishing was an enjoyable experience in this game (or at all, I don't like fishing). He's a fine enough concept, and I would have been fine if he was a background character or played completely different, but OH MY GOD how I hate him in that game!

Megaman Zero...or is he just Zero? I hate him so much.
And I despise Morrigan.

I can't really think of many characters that drive me up a wall, but that's probably because I'll just not get games that have characters that drive me up a wall.

Kratos. Fucking Kratos is the most juvenile wish-fulfillment bullshit ever. His entire characterization is that he's some big cool edgy macho badass who scores with all the hot babes, and they expect you to take him seriously even though he's the self-insert fanfic character we all created when we were 14.

It's one thing when, like, Dante or Ash Williams act like that, because Devil May Cry and Army of Darkness are intentionally kind of silly and stupid. But God of War does it with a completely straight face.

Also, the entire cast of Indigo Prophecy. Fuck that piece of shit trainwreck of a game Jesus Christ

Actually he was supposed to be an asshole in the first game who ended up "pathetic", and that was going to be the end of the series. Someone else took over for 2 and 3, and derailed the whole theme of the franchise.

An analysis of the character by Extra Creditz.

Emil. From Tales of Symphonia 2. Good Lord, just him. Everything about him. Everything he says.

I played that game through the first time and thought it was fine because I was focusing on the combat. Then I went back 2 years later and dear GOD that character.

Skullgirls: Annie
KoF: Ralf, Kensou, Choi, Chang
BlazBlue: Everyone, especially the guy with the fedora (except for Tager...sort of)

There are others, but they aren't coming to mind right away

Pretty much was going to come in here and say Big, and Zidane saved me the wall of text, lol. Hate is not a word I use much, let alone when it comes to fictional characters, but for a time, Big was the only one I'd use that word for.

*Trenia (Phantom Kingdom) - Admittedly, I never finished the game, but the short while I played, I could NOT stand this woman. Hay guys, I'm so random, aren't I funny?

*These are more or less related to gameplay reasons but I hate Sasquatch (Vampire Savior, specifically the A.I.), Double, and Elizabeth (P4A). I'm just so free to all of them. Sasquatch took so many quarters from me at my college arcade >:(

Even though it's one of my favorite franchises from a gameplay design perspective, I don't like 90% of the characters in Touhou. A few of them are decent, and every now and than the dialogue can be amusing in a quirky sort of way, but most of the time it's just random nonsense that gives me a headache.

From a gameplay perspective, almost everyone in MVC3. Most boring move set and gameplay design in a fighter IMO. Only character I like is Arthur, and he's just as one dimensional as the rest, but his play style is at least lovable in a goofy sort of way.

I don't really find "moe blob" heroines interesting either (Noel, Other M Samus).

"GO AWAY BOWSER JR., AND DON'T COME BACK!!!"
I sort of like Bowser Jr, if only because of his badass mechs, air fleets, and boss music in Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. I can understand hating him, though, as he was awful in Super Mario Sunshine.

My life would literally be happier if these characters didn't exist.
300px-Nightmare_Soul_Calibur_V.jpg
There are so many of these OP assholes online it's not even funny. He's the reason I'm not into Soul Calibur that much.
sf4seth.jpg

His design is so bland and boring it just pisses me off. Also he is a VERY cheap boss and seeing how uncreative his design is makes me not like SF4(among other things)

- Filia, everytime I play a Filia I'm already thinking "dude just calm down, we're just playing a game, stahp" before the round even starts. It's like everyone who plays her has a seizure all over their controller.

- Every young japanese female character with a horrendously high pitched loud voice that has to end every sentence with some 'cute' finisher like desu, dabe, and whatnot. That infuriates me to no end. If they're a developed character, then I have less anger, but if they're just a cardboard cut out, it could make me quit the game (I'll finish Eternal Sonata someday...)

- Joke characters in fighting games. -Rufus especially being the worst after I saw what he could have been. I always feel like they're a waste of a slot that could have been filled by a cool character. Hate the cat characters in Melty, but atleast they had all the important characters from Tsukihime.

- Lightning, she was just meh in XIII, but dear god XIII-2 and 3? Makes me facepalm so hard. Every character I saw in XIII-3 gets vitriol from me. Yeah, Lightning became a goddess and savior of the world, yeah go toriyama go.

- Hope from FFXIII. He was just the worst character in existance.

- Samus when she's not in her suit, I hate that complete nonsense. Oh, she's this crazily proportioned cheerleader that exists solely for fanservice when she's not in her suit? I sware to gott, if anyone says ' women can be sexy and blahblahblah', no shut up, the character they established would not be like that at all. No long hair, no make up, no sithspit. I love Samus when she's actually a character, but when they turn her into the fanservice machine, the disappointment is strong. And that rage is ignoring Other M, haha oh sweet baby jesus Other M, the worst character assassination I've ever seen, and I've seen many. Yay high heels, woo.

I hate alot of characters.

Well, well, well...

It's come to this. Let's begin.

I DESPISE these three.

I don't hate Minette... but I truly dislike her, that's for sure.

Makoto and Noel from Blazblue, as well as Rufus from SF come to my head first. I'll have to think of more later.

Peacock. My hateful resentment of the character will never tire.

Sithspit...?

I've actually never played Other M. I saw it coming out and, wisely it seems, avoided it. But from what I saw in Brawl (and I guess endings of most Metroid games, though I never really thought about it) I hate her portrayal not in her suit.
Anime Collage
Is that a "anime characters in general", or "all of these guys"?

Post code Veronica Chris, Jill, Leon, sherry... Well almost every char after code Veronica.

Shonen in particular. They've all gotten videogames of their own, after all.

Tidus, from FFX. Actually name any protagonist from any Final Fantasy post VII (that INCLUDES VII) and I'll probably hate them. Square's character design has gotten so horrible.)
Charmy Bee, from Sonic.
Any character at all from Inuyasha, since anime has been brought into it as well. Oh and most everyone from Naruto.
Diddy Kong. I literally wish death upon everything that he is.
I don't like Cerebella, or Annie for that matter.
I really hate any character with the "moe blob" personality, who's only purpose is to be cute eye candy.
I think someone mentioned Kratos earlier. Yeah he's badass sure, if you're freaking 12.

I don't even know all of those characters, but I don't know what game they were in (actually... J-Stars is a thing, so probably all of them).

Almost every Bleach game is god awful (except 3rd Phantom, go play that one people).

Yu-Gi-Oh is as good as the card game basically.

Some of the DBZ games I've played have been really, really good (attack of the saiyans, Budokai/Budokai Tenkaichi series, Legend of Goku series, some of the card based games).

The Sailor Moon RPG I played was really hard to want to play, the dialogue was hard to get through.

Inuyasha RPG was probably good, but I really hated the movement never really played enough of it.

One Piece games... I've only played Unlimited Adventure, but that one was pretty good, you had to find materials to build things and catch bugs and fish (the fishing segments were optional and easy to get through), it was surprisingly fun.

Naruto... a couple of his games were good, but a lot of them were not fun, and the Ninja Council series got super repetitive.

The one FMA game I played wasn't good, but there's definitely material to make a really good game there.

Beyblade games are awful and you should feel bad for playing them

Digimon... I really enjoyed Digimon World, the original on PSone.

Sithspit...?

Haha, sithspit is a very silly cuss word in star wars, I remember laughing when I first played through Jedi Outcast and the main character just says it out of nowhere in a dire situation.

But yeah, they 'reward' players for playing through the games quickly with those pictures of Samus walking around in small amounts of clothing or posing in the zero suit. It's literally silly fanservice at that point.

This is always what I picture when I think Metroid. No Zero Suit nonsense. Just Badassery.

Oh okay you're one of those "no taste" people.

.............Okay I forgot about Zidane I'll give you that one.

Oh okay you're one of those "no taste" people.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't expecting something like this from you.

Hate is a strong word, but I will say I did not like Sodia from Tales of Vesperia. She believes that Yuri is not worthy of being associated with Flynn. I know that Yuri is a vigilante who does not play by the rules and all but...
There is a scene where after defeating Alexei where she stabbed Yuri. Yuri's friends were worried sick about him not realizing that Sodia injured him. Even though she is horrified with what she done and Yuri decided not to tell, it felt like she got off with a slap on the wrist.
