Given that I'm just getting into the fighting game community or whatever, I am completely confused.

Not with the game, with the speech.

People say things like "Techs", "Pokes", "Strings", and other things I'm not thinking of. When I see this I just have to put it in google translate because it ain't English; It's all Greek to me.

That is all I need to at least begin to grasp fighting games (I'll handle Ukemis when i actually care about SoulCalibur again)
