It's documenting an important rule change and the entire content of your thread. You're apparently leaving the forum over it. It's clearly not that pointless.

Also, just to clarify, crossover art is fine, it's just art that has nothing to do with SG that has no place here.

I'm not "leaving", I'm still going to be around and post links to new stuff I do IF...it relates to Skullgirls. I'm still going to watch over it of course. I draw other other stuff too, so that means I just can't post it here. You DID say that. However, I will still be here, on the site, in other threads, and lurking. I'm not leaving leaving.

and THAT'S why i asked to put the funny pics thread back on the forum, and was ignored... TWICE!

Also, nothing offensive is happening over here, quite the opposite: people are happy and socializing (both things are important in a community). We were talking with the artist and he's doing art at his own pace (both things are acceptable).

No need for arbitrary rule enforcement where nothing really bad happened.

You're right. Sorry about that. I've opened a thread in the moderator forum to make sure everyone sees it and someone'll respond in the Mod Request thread ASAP. I imagine everyone assumed someone else would deal with it and let it slide, but it's a big topic that really should have all the mods talk about it so we'll get on that now. Sorry again.

But again, we've clogged up this thread with moderation discussion enough already, PM me or use that thread from now on please.

It's been a long and fun journey! But unfortunately, I have to end the adventures we've had. From my understanding, A thread on this site has to only cater to art related to the site's theme. So there for without knowledge of this until the last minute, I have decided to make one last image to share with you all. I've done pin-ups of Cerebella, Squigly, Filia, Valentine and now I got a new doll to add to the collection. Yeah, it's her and I so went there. So some of you may ask, "Well Todd, what's up, why are you leaving?" I'm not necessarily leaving, I'm just slowly going on a long loong LOONG hiatus from this thread. The reason being is because I was informed that at the last minute that I couldn't post art outside of this site's theme. So alright, no big deal right? Sadly, my thread was slapped with an ugly splash of ink I that I did not expect to see. However, I was going to tell everyone, but when things TRIED to spiral in a bad direction, I said fuck this I just can't. To add insult to injury, this thread is being monitored. Feels like there is 0 trust in this thread. And not only that, but the other fun threads have been deleted too which is really upsetting. I thought forums were places that people went to for the enjoyment every once in awhile. I guess that's not allowed on Skullheart. Maybe I am wrong.

In the end, it was still a fun ride and all of you made it fun. You all managed to put up with me, myself, and the most of all the Titans (before I talk about them, I have to tell you this, which leads into that) With that said, as an artist I've received so many messages from people on tumblr, twitter, facebook and even on here saying in order for me to grow as an artist I have to draw THIS or draw that in order to be popular. I don't want to be another clone drawing what everyone is. What is the point in following a trend when I can be myself? That's why I draw rule34 the way I do, that is why I draw crossovers or sometimes branch out into obscure territory...and as an artist, when I explain to people why I like the route I take, I'd get backlash from people sometimes. I guess being different is a bad thing. I don't want to do what THEY want me to do. I'm not a follower and I try not to be. If that's the case, I'd be drawing Beowulf and Eliza artworks and that gets boring and stale really quick. I don't see how people draw the same thin over and over ALL the time. Some artists are great at it and some are bad at it. I follow an artist named iahfy. A Korra fangirl artist. I know she draws it ALL the time, but I follow her because I like how she draws. When I need help with something or have a question, I shoot her an an ask pm. She gets over 1000+ notes with each post and even though she's hella popular, she still talks to people which is what I admire in an artist. It's because of her, I do timelapse recordings of videos. That in an artist I admire. But, I'm not sayin' suggestions on what to draw is wrong, I'm sayin' don't force or shove your own ideas on people.

However, I do enjoy what I do and will never stop drawing. I hope to make it big in the industry someday. Get uh' awesome gig freelancing for a game or animation studio doing those awesome character illustrations or posters because I can definitely do it. I was told I have the potential to make it. But how long is forever? But if you enjoy whatever it is I share, then thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it. If you can't enjoy it and what I do irritates you whether it rule34, sfw, the titans or characters you do not like and you hate me for not following a trend then move the fuck on, unsubscribe, unfollow right now. I've HAD it before and ESPECIALLY continues to grow now because I draw Bella/DBZ hentai and I've been bookmarked or paheal and gelbooru for it. Big deal, hate it, cry me a river I'm never going to stop. People seem to appreciate it and I'm shocked that someone keeps tabs on me. It's kinda cool to be on Gelbooru to be honest. As humans, we like what we like and we also share a portions of dislikes. And over the summer I started watching the Titans, then I read about them, then I found a spot and purchased the comics based on the 2005 show, Then I went back and read the older comics for a greater understanding of them. THEN...the screenshots came into play, then the label came into play, then my ask.fm started building etc. You get the picture. And now because of that I have a label because people find it amazing that I can match every emotion with Starfire. In all honestly, it just happens, I don't intentionally search for pictures. I only search for references because I know I'll draw that specific character one day so I end up with a lot of random screenshots. And now I'm a label. I'm the Teen Titans guy. But I'm not upset because I like it and people spit out questions to me on my ask.fm wanting to see the image responses (so I've been told).

THEN Teen Titans Go! came out...(here we fuckin' go)


...and here I am. I like Teen Titans Go! (OHMYGODNOWAYHELIKESTHAT?!) Yes I do...and I know people hate it but frankly, I don't care.. I don't like Steven Universe or Uncle Grandpa and I know a handful of people who drool over Steven Universe. You don't see me sayin' "Steven Universe sucks, don't watch that." Who am I to degrade someone's creation that's proven to be success? Sure it's not my thing, but I'm not going to dis it. And then because I like Teen Titans Go! Here's the deal: people that are so wrapped up with new shows now and somehow find me, they respect me because I've proven to them I give no fucks what people think. I like what I like, he or she likes what they like. And here's the fucked up thing: when you're so wrapped up with something and you take what someone else likes so TO heart, that you get pissed off and then type me nerd books of biblical fuckin' proportions of why you HATE what I like, and why you're opinion matters. You just became the guy I'm feeding off of. Why the hell would I watch Teen Titans Go? Because I have an open mind. And I don't need to read, or listen to people who think their reviewers or journalists. People have opinion pieces. I wasn't even gonna watch it. But all the idiots online, blowin' a bunch of shit outta their mouth about Young Justice, Season Six, and even Sonic Boom and I thought you know what? Lemme watch it, and here's why: I'm an artist, and I also give other people's creation a chance. And that's what I did with KillLaKill, JoJo's, TTG and Boom. Didn't like KLK. People forced that on me and when I'm forced to watch something, I can't enjoy it because I'm doing it for them and not for my own personal gain. Didn't like Jojo's: wasn't a fan of the art style. Heard great things about it, but I can't get into it. But Sonic Boom and the Titans? Well...I like Sonic and I like to laugh. I like Starfire and I like Tara Strong. I have my own train of thought. I don't regret liking Teen Titans Go! Sure, it's the shittiest show to most people. But I'm not going to let a bunch of...internet morons that haven't watched it or even tried to...change my mind.

But remember, it's what you like. Do not shun people because you do not like what they do. I do not like a lot of things, but who am to judge someone else's work. I don't like Young Justice. HATE IT! But I know a lot of people who like it. I'm not gonna say anything like "You suck because you don't like this or that." lol who does that? There's been a lot going on for me both good and bad because I choose to go a certain route. It really sucks when someone labels you negatively for admiring something. That would be like me trolling a Korra fan because of that they like. Korrasami is cool and all, but I do like Makorra better but at the end of the day...it is what it is and we have to accept it. You see what I'm sayin'?

I've had this on my mind for a long time and in the end, for those who followed me from beginning to the end, tolerated me from A to Z...you are all honorary Titans in my book. The rules changed in December. There was large public outcry over them and it was clearly mentioned that it was a site-wide overhaul to the rules. If you decided not to read the updated art rules which included the new "no non-Skullgirls art" section that's really not on me. I unfortunately had to leave the forum for a couple of months for some personal stuff so you had all that time to check the new rules. Please don't accuse me of 'telling you at the last minute' when it was stickied at the top of the forum for 2 months.

As I said earlier, when I appeared in the thread before I was telling people to cut down on the general chit chat. I was not referring you your posting of non-SG art, which I had already discussed with you elsewhere. It was an unrelated topic and it was aimed at the general users in the thread, not just you, so I felt it appropriate to tell the general users. And to clarify again: people are free to have conversations in threads, but when full pages of threads are conversation then it needs to be reined in a bit.

It may shock you to realize that the reason I'm the moderator the Art Forum is because I am interested in art. I read every art thread on SkullHeart. The art forum is not nearly active enough that it's even difficult for me to check in on all the threads here. It may also shock you to realize that I like your art - you have penciling skills that I can only wish I had. I read your thread to look at your art, not waiting to pounce on you for rule breaking. Just because I don't post in your thread doesn't mean I don't just watch it. I have a "does what I'm about to say actually contribute to this discussion?" policy that I generally follow, which is why I have such a comparitivly low post count considering how long and active I've been on the forum.

This is a Skullgirls forum. It's supposed to be Skullgirls focused. Obviously I'd rather not have users leave, but if they feel their contributions are no longer compatible with the site then it's totally their decision to do so and I wish them all the best. As Toddabella has listed above, there's numerous places where you can continue to follow them and discuss their art without any of the focusing restrictions we have in place here.

Exactly, it's a FORUM, meant for people to speak, communicate and discuss. not a goddamned Wiki with a fixed topic and nothing else. Being a Skullgirls forum means the audience is drawn here for their interest in the game, it shouldn't dictate what the hell people should talk or think in non-game specific forums.

Or create an offtopic art area to let people free to love the community without losing themselves to be part of it

I knew this would come.

So...I'm not leaving the site, I'm just leaving this thread [Terra voice] because now I have no use for it. I'll still watch over it yes, but I gotta go where the wind takes me y'know? So don't go and blame fingers and point any. I don't draw art related to the came as I constantly used to and I have a bad habit of branching out and trying new things. So the rules changed, no big whoop. BUT...the entire consistent of plies back causing a lot of people to read what's going on when it doesn't concern them did it for me. And reason being is because people come, they see it, then some might insert their two cents against me and say "well blah blah Todd, you should know better and etc" when that's not the case. People just do this. You know how the internet is when people want to contribute their opinion but miss the entire point.

I'm not leaving Skullheart because a few people PM here for certain things and want info.

Skullheart was never a burden on me. I enjoyed coming here. I still do to be quite honest. I don't have an issue with the site. I just hope that certain things are handled better for me, you or the girl next door.

^ woow. I thought, you were just watching me because I was doing something SUPER wrong. I did not know you admired this thread up to a point. I appreciate that. It was a fun ride and I enjoyed it. But you see, I'm not a digital artist, so I can only but so damn far. LabZero hire me? I wish, I doubt they I even exist. But I'm not done with this site. Just the thread, but not entirely. If people want to ask questions here as well, I'm sure that shouldn't be a problem. I'll answer them. Let's say if someone wanted a trade or commission, I'd just post the link and tag them in the post. Just to keep it simple, effective and out of the way. If something happen with 86d that involves art I did for them, i'll jsut link that here too. I guess so. I mean...it sounds fair. But as an artist, I like to draw so many other things. There are soooo many things that I want to do that I haven't tackled yet and when I get done with a commission I'm working on for @Broseidon Rex, I can finally do it!

I think this thread is getting needlessly dramatic.

I was one of the people who were very much against removing offtopic from Skullheart, though I think it reached a satisfying balance now. Offtopic is allowed, in a reasonable form, specifically in the offtopic subforum. The Art subforum on the other hand is for SG-related content only, as I think it always really was? I never noticed other artists posting non-SG content in their threads. I fallow various artists on Skullheart, some both here and in places outside of it, as they post Skullgirls art and discuss Skullgirls here, while posting and discussing non-SG elsewhere. The system always seemed functional and logical.

I always skimmed through this thread, too. Skimmed rather than read it, as I was interested in SG art, but had to plough through a page of random chit-chat and image macros to find a piece or two of content. If it was more focused on the actual SG art now, I'd be more inclined to read it whole rather than skim through it with occasionally thinking if it's even worth the effort of continuing.

Now, you might say I'm not your target audience, me being someone who checks your thread exclusively for SG art rather than social interaction, and that's fine. I'm bringing this up though to point out that there are people who like to receive your Skullgirls art on a Skullgirls forum, but might get demotivated if they have to actually dig for it in your own thread. Following the new art rules (which most artists applied before they were written down anyway) will result in a more condensed, less watered-down SG art thread that might attract more people to your SG art. Then, if they like it, in consequence resulting in more enthusiasts of your non-SG art - as they follow you in one of your many non-Skullgirls themed places on the Internet that you link in the first post.

Cellsai is likely handling the last few pages with a light touch to avoid making anyone feel persecuted. He's graciously letting everyone have their tearful goodbyes, as it were, but I think we can all agree that this is becoming awfully drawn out. Toddabella has said he'll still be checking this thread and maybe even occasionally posting art, so closing it seems unnecessary. As for anything else, Todd's said his piece, Cellsai has communicated how things need to work in the future, and that's all there is to it.

I am getting tired of this repetitive argument. Everyone needs to realize that they are 2 very different shows. I loved the old one but I still like the new one. In fact, I went out of my way over the summer and read the comics that followed the show and the ones that went more in depth with certain certain characters. People seem to forget sometimes: One was a drama/action series that wanted us to get heavily invested in the characters and the other is comedy modeled after other Cartoon Network classics like Dexter’s Laboratory and PPG. Sonic boom is the same way That would be like fans complaining that Sonic Boom is not like Sonic X (i.e dramatic and story driven). Are you going to complain about the lack of development in those shows too?

Fans of the original Titans need to realize that this show was not a reboot. It was a new series using the same characters and the voice same voices. In a perfect world, this could be arranged so that both series were running simultaneously. Just as must as you or I would want. However, I can respect that people don’t like the new one…just please stop acting like these are the same and need to be held against each other.

After all, the new show may just be the perfect vehicle to introduce younger children who don’t comprehend complex plots to your favorite crime-fighting team…and with a new generation of Titans fans, live-action movies could be on the way. In fact the pilot is in the works because of the popularity of the Titans as a whole (with this show contributing it).
