I thought only the women in the Fey family had powers though, and you'd assume the gimmick with the prosecutor would be that they'd talk about their powers or something like that.

Maya flunked out of being the Kurain Village leader and instead became the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation.
She just doesn't want Nick to see her without her top knot :0

actually
i understand what happened to Maya
she died and went to heaven when she learned that ramen burgers are a thing that exist
rip

I have never even played Dual Destinies, I need to go play it...
Maya looks fantastic, I can't wait for this. I really hope her English voice isn't terrible.

Dang it, I still need to fully learn Japanese. I only caught like a third of what everyone was saying and-

Whhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? Maya in a white robe in a waterfall? okay.... yeah uh..... sure.

Part of the spiritual waterfall training method. It's a common custom in Japan.

i'm too tired for this shit right now. But I like how Nick was like "Maya's in trouble, here you guys take over the case I'm fucking outa here." Yeah, Nick taking action finally jesus.

The waterfall thing has been a running gag since the first game if I recall correctly.

Also, for those curious the plot is pretty much just

For those more curious there's a full, if not somewhat literal translation here.

Thanks for posting that anime prologue. Looks great & that's quite a bit of art/animation.
Watched playthroughs of all the previous games & am looking forward to this.

Not really sure how I feel about the prologue animation. The art looks a little weird at some times, and it's way too overdramatic and silly imo, but some parts genuinely were good.

Bro I really didn't see it coming when the guy who was the killer turned out to be the killer.

I mean real talk, the animation was average at best, it's a very basic setup episode, and the only thing I really have to say about it is that it's kinda disappointing/distracting the fact that Phoenix sounds so much like every other anime protagonist.
Also, everyone's got super wide shoulders.

shocking news here on skullheart forums when anime adaptation of video game turns out to be lackluster

I wonder which Pheonix will be voicing him for the inevitable English release? The one who has done him since Dual Destinies, or the one for the Layton Crossover? hmm...

Well Sam has done Phoenix for both AA5 and MVC3, so i'd say him
Phoenix having a different VA in PL vs AA was probably because casting was on the end of whoever usually casts for Level-5

Only thing they changed that made me a little sad....

Sahwit not throwing his toupee at Phoenix. Instead, it was blown off by Phoenix's "Objection!" speech.

Yes, that was quite upsetting, why even remove that?
