The Smash Bros Discussion Thread

Obligatory "tier lists created by the average values of a collective of Eventhub members one week after a character is released are not very blah blah blah" response aside, I believe that Roy is likely decently high tier based on what we've seen thus far. But, of course, we'll know for sure in time.

Side note: I'm surprised Ryu isn't higher on that list.

It's the only current tier list available right now, which is why I chose Eventhubs. I don't think it's a good gauge of a character's rank, but it's the closest thing right now, as I doubt someone made a tier list for the new characters.
I'd actually say I'd be more worried if he was high tier early on, considering people have not had time to learn him and what he can do. You can argue people don't know how to react to him, but I'd say knowing how to play the character is more important.

Yeah, Ryu seems like he'll be low high-tier to me. He doesn't seem as good as Roy, though.
Have they patched the Ryu infinite yet, by the way?

>Eventhubs
>Has favourable matchup against everyone minus Ness and Shiek

That is laughably bad. Give it another 3 months and we'll see where he reasonably supposed to be. In my honest, semi-competitive opinion, he's top half for sure. He's just stupidly mobile. The juggles and gimping and combos having to do with Nair and Uair are works of art. This man plays to win.

If you really want a reason to never trust event hubs, look at where fucking Luigi is. Pretty well known as a top 5 character, yet he's in fucking 24th. 13 places above Mario, the objectively worse version of him.

RIDLEY STILL ISN'T IN. FUCK EVERYONE ESPECIALLY MIGHTYBOX. HERE'S DARK PALUTENA.

I'm preemptively disappointed for the Smash Ballot.

I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I WAS A GOOD NOODLE AND ONLY SENT IN ONE VOTE FOR RIDLEY.

Honestly if Ridley ever became playable at this point I wouldn't even be happy, I would just laugh maniacally between "I told you"s until passing out.
You wouldn't be able to blow away my air of smug superiority with an industrial fan.

I'll just sit here still hoping for Simon Belmont.

C'mon, Konami getting out of games was a joke, right? They'll announce a new castlevania game soon and then they'll work with nintendo to put Simon in and we'll all sing kumbaya, right? Right?

That was a false rumor, sadly
That's disappointing. The best option would've been resetting it with the limited options. It would be so much better then the guessing about who could get in we have now.
