Indivisible: Lab Zero's Action-RPG! (General Discussion)

Okay, so I'm not the one, who's insane. I guess I'll just register on Reddit and wait for the tweet.

10 mins ago if I recall correctly
No, it starts at 7:00 P.M. ET.
Edit: Not only did I get the time wrong I didn't even look at the current time, wow

Here it is

https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/3rk1x9/were_lab_zero_games_makers_of_skullgirls_ama/

edit: I don't know anything about reddit, but someone should maybe crosspost the AMA to /r/games /r/gaming /r/indivisible /r/skullgirls and related subreddits for super metroid or valkyrie profile or crowdfunding or whatever
To my knowledge people don't really cross-post AMAs since they aren't something like an image or news article, so I'm not sure.

I've seen people post links to other reddit threads, it's not that uncommon. There's currently one in the "games" subreddit pointing to the "ask me anything" one

Well, it doesn't seem to be getting as much attention as I'd hoped. This is sad. I really thought it would get a lot of people interested and excited.

True... but we have almost gained 100k in 3 days...

FINALLY got my fuckin 15$ contribution in! I know for a fact that this will succeed because L0 has love in their hearts, and are one of the only developers to channel the power of love into their creations for their own sake, instead of for profit! I have complete and utter faith that love will prevail.

Glad as hell to finally contribute to my favorite developer of all time! Love you guys!

Not to be a complete asshole here, but I don't think their passion guarantees sucess. BUT I will wholeheartedly agree that L0's passion to make things reality is second to none to my knowledge and all the things they do they do with extreme care and, well, yeah, love. So as long as they get _chance_ to do something they will get it right, no doubt about it. I just wish their love and passion weren't cost them so much financially =/

oh, I didn't get the memo, are we still in denial about how expensive games are? :3c

THEM. Cost THEM. As persons. Who don't get enough money, have to freelance, and burn through there savings to do things they love. That's what I'm talking about. And that sucks.

I stand corrected, sorry!

This from the dude ( or lass, whatever. I used it in a neutral context, /u/nauran ) who makes a living out of that.

I love this AMA already."

Ahhh, I was wondering about this! The two themes definitely seemed very connected, so it's cool that this idea would carry on in the complete game.

Quite an informative AMA. Really hope this thing is quelling some of the more frequent questions that keep popping up elsewhere.

Does anyone remember the name of the font that the indivisible logo is based on? It was said in the U&I stream but thats 7 hours long so i figured it'd be quicker to just ask.

edit: nvm turns out he says it in the first 15 minutes of the stream. :P lucky me.

We just passed 10K backers!

We're also about to hit 650K, damn, it's going really well at the moment.

This is probably late and not relevant but I fell asleep.
While I really enjoyed the AMA, it was a bit of a mistake to use different accounts for each person. AMAs have a special sorting option of "Q&A", which sorts out questions that have been answered by the OP account. This is why a lot of people doing an AMA as a group do it in one account and just specify who is speaking.
Great job with the answers, though. It was a great AMA.

The game hit 10,000 backers two hours ago. yay

And 650K a few minutes ago!
Edit: ninja'd by chillbean

The AMA is also gaining momentum, at 1660 thread upvotes. Maybe it will soar to the front page.

I've been on reddit ever since Minecraft came out so I agree it is weird. It's bland and sometimes convoluted, but one gets used to it. It is like being in a forum with way too much immediacy. Threads are cheap and temporary.

Reading through the AMA now. I threw in a question when it was live last night. I think the team did a great job answering so many questions. Very engaged compared to some of the PR stunt AMAs I've seen.

Alright so here's a thought.

We are now 10 days away from the end of the campaign, but with the current rate of donations we can only be sure to make it if they extend the campaign.
In the AMA yesterday, it was said that having 60% of the funding is a requirement in order to even get an extension. That would be at 900K, so if we manage to get there, I think it's safe to say that the campaign will very likely be successful, so I say 900K should be our current goal. Additionally, since the extension must be made 3 days prior to the campaign end, we are basically already in the final week for that goal and won't have a "final rush" sort of deal for it.
We are currently at 652K, so we need 248K in total over the following 7 days in order to get there. That's certainly possible

So here's my suggestion: I do believe it's time to also talk about this when we recommend or talk about the campaign, I think it's imperative to hit that goal and get the extension because in 20 additional days, getting to 1.5 million will be an easier task.
So it would be an exceptional help if we can just spread the word about the extension, because I still see comments like "it won't make it". It very likely will if we get to 60% 3 days prior to the end of the campaign.

Considering we've gained over 100k in the past 3-4 days, donations aren't stopping, and they have designs for the guest characters drawn up awaiting approval and a future update coming about them (I asked about this on the AMA), we can do it.

Reveal the next incarnation before I have to leave for work, please.
You expect anyone here to be awake before noon?
...wait...it's 11:20...

Alright so here's a thought.
Setting your sights at 900k ain't gonna cut it. It's not like we can extend it in the last hour, that kinda stuff takes a few days at least.

I personally am still aiming at the actual goal of $1.5m, but that's me.

It's always 5:00 somewhere?

Anyone mention how these characters are going to appear in the game story-wise? I'm imagining Annie being a character like Asagi from Disgaea, jumping from dimension to dimension, game to game, trying to find the game she's supposed to be in.

The joke is that Annie should never be in any game :0

If more people in the $30 tier upgraded, we'd have a better chance.

Went ahead and upgraded mine yesterday. I was going to wait until a dev stream so I could support "see something cool," but I finally received my utility bills for the month and I like taking care of my planned expenses all at once.

Fun logic: "Well, if I'd have to pay shipping on the $60 tier, I may as well go for the $75 one so that money goes to Lab Zero instead."

Would it really take a few days? Man, you'd think that with the most ambitious game project on indiegogo, they would at least try to be on time with this and give it some priority so that it actually works out.

Well, of course we're all aiming at the actual goal, I just wouldn't want you guys to take otherwise avoidable and unnecessary risks.
