Blazblue

Well more details about the story mode are coming out and, well, I cannot fault poor English Ragna for being THAT pissed off.

It gets pretty rough for him.
Salty Ragna is the best.

I also heard one of Terumi's lines in English is
"I'm waiting for you to STOP SUCKING!"
Just when I couldn't love that motherfucker enough.

Question for experienced Blazblue players - are resets common in those games? I got BBCP and I'm enjoying it so far, despite laggy online matches with Japanese players. I need to learn to get used to the neutral game/fundamentals for BB and GG games.

No, resets aren't very common. The focus is more on oki pressure.

It's really strange. So I have a powerlan adapter on my computer, but I've been playing with wireless via my PS3. My connection has literally been perfect with many players, but it seems I can only get games on the 64 player lobby :(

Either everyone leaves or they kick me lol

it's amazing how scared of a 0delay connection they are.

um, do you mean 0 delay connection as in the game shows you a red 0 for your connection? Because it's very much the other way around in that case. You're actually probably getting a lot of input delay. The white 4 signifies the best connection with the green 3 being next in line. Combine that with the fact that a lot of people that imported are highly competitive players who don't like any input delay at all and that pretty much sums up why everyone keeps dodging you. You'll have to wait for NA release for more people who aren't too picky about connection.

Not really, I haven't had input delay problems while playing. But I guess that would make sense, but it would be a pain in the ass switching between wireless and wired on my computer whenever I want to go on my PS3. Guess 64 player lobby is the way to go, since people aren't picky there (Then again people can't see your connection)

I tried playing the 64 player lobby and the people I got were only from Japan, despite me entering rooms where Russia and Germany are located. My connection with them was very laggy and it felt like playing underwater. Is there any way to filter connections or which rooms have European players?

Hey everyone, where can I listen to these voices? Y'know... I wanna hear da hype 'n stuff.
While I've only heard Bullet so far, here are all the English VAS for the new characters:

Bullet - Erin Fitzgerald
Terumi - Doug Erholz
Amane - Yuri Lowenthal
Izayoi - Julie Ann Taylor
Kagura - Grant George
Azreal - D.C. Douglas
Kokonoe - Julie Ann Taylor

So Doug Erholtz really is Hazama now, and everyone else reprises their roles?

hahahaaha so erin did do bullet, no wonder she sounded familiar.

Doug is still Hazama.

Also, my friend is doing a BBCP stream with the English voices on, currently doing an Amane mirror battle - http://www.twitch.tv/pbug

No no no. For the longest time, people thought Hazama was Doug Erholtz, but it wasn't.
It was someone else.
And it wasn't until Blazblue Continuum Shift EXTEND that he was a stand in for the other guy. And he did a pretty bang-up job.
So I guess he's the official Hazama now.

Right, he had two different VAs (Erik Davies for CT and CS and Spike Spencer for CSII), but yes, Doug is now Hazama.

Same goes for Rachel. Mela Lee back as Rachel again.

Because BB has a 5 frame input buffer, people won't really notice input delay unless you are doing a combo with tight execution or trying to block mixups and even in the latter case, people are more likely to write it off to not reacting fast enough. Personally, I don't even notice input delay unless I have to block an overhead I have trouble with in a 0 connection but even then it's just like "eh, oh well"

I remember reading Europeans having this problem. You'll probably have to search a bit for the right lobby. You can set a connection speed restriction for ranked matches and though I haven't seen the new BBCP player match search, I'm sure you can see the connection speed of the host in your search list. Alternatively, you can go to the import ID thread on dustloop and try and make friends with people listed in the European regions.

Well whatever the case, seems 64 player lobbies are my only place for matches.

English Kagura vocal showcase time! Now with 100% more mysterious history with vampires.

lol, those Kagura intros with the female cast.

You can also make use of the Match Finder and Import ID thread on Dustloop to make friends with people with good connections as well if you're up for it.

from what I have been able to catch on stream, it seems Noel barely uses Mu form . . .

Except to fight Berserk Ragna at the very end with Jin. But its not even playable. Also she and Jin lose and end up in the hospital.

which is pretty disappointing.

meanwhile Tsubaki is GUNDAM for pretty much the whole story.

There's already 6 BBCP characters that interest me (Hakumen, Bullet, Azrael, Litchi, Bang, Nu-13), but I wanna know if you would recommend Relius to a Ms. Fortune player? Fortune is my 1st Puppet Master/Shadow-type character and I was thinking of trying out different Puppet Master characters to understand that playstyle better.

Carl would be slightly easier to get into, as Nirvana and Fortune's head actually have a few similarities in how they control. Ignis is not much like Fortune's head at all (More like a JoJo's Stand than an actual puppet).

Relius is a lot more like Persona 4 Arena's Yu. Ignis is mostly good for pokes and allowing you to make the opponent block for long periods of time while you go for mixups. Carl is definitely closest to Ms. Fortune but that said, controlling Nirvana is a lot more involved than controlling Ms. Fortune's head. It'll probably take some time to get used to, especially in a real match.

I really prefer playing Relius, but then again that's me and being biased to Jojo stuff.
I never played Relius because I never got Extend since I thought, when it came out, "Oh I don't need this as I already got all the DLC up to CS2 and Chrono Phantasma will be out for 360 eventually."

WELL LOOKS LIKE THE JOKE'S ON ME. :(

I was watching a stream of the story mode the other day and got through the ending and watched the credits and I noticed that Patrick Seitz has a credit under Localization Special Thanks which is neat because I always liked his work as Ragna.

So I was like "hrmm?" and I set the time back to see if i missed any other interesting names then I was like "oh snap is that render?"

Just listened to Science Fiction and damn... I'm speechless about how good that song is. And Black Aggression is amazing as well, sounding like a general's call to action in the beginning and one kick-ass battle for the rest.

back at dustloop, i had a bit of GENIUS SPECULATION

Minerva is a rebuilt Lambda. she's got red eyes, a black/silver color scheme and her hair fades from black into a lighter blonde color.

how would this even work? no idea, but i stopped trying to make sense of things after Kokonoe pulled her aunt 100 years into the future.

are your minds blown?

Kagura's theme gets a lot of jokes about how it sounds like a certain movie soundtrack

Of course, everyone knows the best pirate is Nu, matey! Arrrr!

Drunk Litchi is at it again

I'm guessing that's the initiation for any new female character is for Litchi to make them cosplay. Would be funny if there was a gag of Litchi trying to make Amane Cosplay and learn that he is a guy... We need at least one "they fell for the trap" moment and this seems to be the best situation.

The ever diligent Kurushii of Dustloop put out a treat for the impatient ones.
Still not the whole schmeer but I won't look this gifted horse in the mouth.

Though, I must add that the anti-Bullet agenda that permeates these galleries IS quite irksome.

Which ones? The cosplay pics?

I'm more about gameplay and I don't care about all these shippings of fictional characters...

BUT WHEN I DO, I'm all for Litchi-->Bullet. Hilariously awkward one-sided shippings FTW!

This week on ALTER MEMORY!

I just like using new episodes as an excuse to use this image again.

This episode was surprisingly good! I think they got everything in place to kick off the anime proper:

- Noel's hilariously bad poetry
- Rachel being cryptic
- Kokonoe is being a bit of a bitch
- Jin wanting his BROTHEEEEERRRR~!
- Terumi making a speech about DESPAIR
- Ragna is surrounded by crazy girls and wondering how the hell he got into that situation.

surprises:
- Lambda showing up before Tager?
- Random Phantom!
- A good new opening?!

That scene was pretty unexpected and I got a pretty good laugh from that. Overall, that was a pretty good episode besides some parts that I feel transitioned a bit awkwardly and I hope someone makes a gif of Litchi's "god...fine" face.

Nah, it's just that there's very few artworks featuring Bullet. Then again, judging by my Pixiv scavengings, seems she's not all that popular. Or rather, the BB fanbase are a bunch of pettanko fetishists. :P
BUT WHEN I DO, I'm all for Litchi-->Bullet. Symmetrical docking FTW!
Fixed that for you. :3

To be fair, Bullet's generally regarded as a boring design.

I really hope bullet is fun to play with a lot of toolish moves. Would make my BB life that much simpler...

man, after reading the ending spoilers i've come to this conclusion:
- Noel does basically no fighting as Mu.
- Nu literally stabs Ragna in the back after he saves her while looking really cool in an anime cutscene.

this proves to me that Lambda is the best Murakumo girl. When's she coming back?
also she's cute in the gallery art of Kokonoe playing tabletop war games.

Well you have to use her heat mode, that's her main source of doing combos.
