It would be her dad, who looks asian/japanese. but her last name is not japanese (Maheswaran) and there's nothing anywhere about her parents' nationalities. It's possible that it's actually her mom's last name and she had kept it through the marriage wait, no, then her dad would have a different last name.
 
Connie is Indian
that's official word.
they didn't say that she's Indian-Japanese or anything.
just Indian. I would assume that Maheshwaran is a valid Indian last name also

I can't help but wonder, though:
Did Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl end up sending the Shooting Star to the Galaxy Warp after all? I imagine they could do so successfully, without Steven and Connie walking in on them.
 
well everything didn't blow up so i assume so
it's possible that it didn't work and safely detonated somewhere else
 
New episode about the past. Amethyst turning into Rose to make Greg upset was seriously not cool of her. Steven is still keeping everybody together. Also Little Butler.

ooooohh, tsk Amethyst just loves to make thing really akward doesn't she? I have a feeling like something is going happen with Amethyst real soon that is going to affect the whole group.
 
Amethyst and Greg, the thought of them being close is really strange. It would make sense though since they are similar in terms of personality. I hope it wasn't...romantic at some point? o.O Wtf.

The thing about about SU is it gives you bits and pieces of things...really small slithers of important shit. SU is the ultimate tease...

were they shipped in the past? or is it just a third wheel issue? As much as I want to know, they way Steven handled it was awesome. "Obviously things happened but those things are over and we should just move on." no questions asked. questions probably would have added baggage.

It really breaks my heart that Amethyst is also jealous of Steven.
 
this show is amazing it one of the few good new shows to come out

there are so many episodes we haven't seen yet i wonder where they are going to take it
my guess is some of the evil gems com back and attack

also sad to see the show is going to get a cross over with that garbage show uncle grandpa

BUT, that aside,
GAAAAAHHHHHHHHH STEVEN UNIVERSE IS GETTING SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOD!
Seriously, as it was said before, we get teased with bits and pieces of background story and current happenings and it's great and I can't wait for it all to (hopefully) come together.

New episode. The unfamiliar familiar seems like it will be important later on. Steven was kinda stupid this episode. The kindergarten wiping all life is important,but I'd like to know how it does it. Crystal gems telling Peridot off was awesome. Steven talking to Peridot was funny.

It probably uses the life surrounding it to supply it with power. The area around the kindergarten is extremely dead- remember how steven accidentally stepped on a stick and it immediately crumpled into dust in on the run? That's not normal.
Also semi-important plot detail- the red eye in laser light cannon was one of peridot's probes.

Whoa you know some shit is going to go down soon. The outro star was ... BACKWARDS. Are we going to have some fight between the old gems and the new ones? oh man. And now we got a slightly more accurate date of just how long the Crystal Gems were around at least 6000 years. Neat.

That ending was amazing. I just LOVE the cheesiness of the hero(es) just laying it down on the villain(s). It's so epic and you just cheer for them. P.S. Yes, Steven kinda was dumb this episode. But meh, he's a kid that doesn't really read much and stuff, what do you expect?

Garnet picking out and picking up that giant axe as a weapon was hilarious. Steven treating Lion like a storage shed was also pretty hilarious. We learned about the war against home-world that made them afraid of ever going back. It was sad seeing Pearl learn that there were some secrets that Rose didn't tell her and feeling less connected to Rose. It also showed how much they all miss her. It was a pretty good ending making Pearl realize that she didn't need to live for just Rose. I am thinking that an episode about how much Garnet misses her will be coming eventually.

That smile coming from Pearl was hilariously adorable. AAAHHHH I LOVE THIS SHOW SO FREAKING MUCH!
Also, any one notice that all the gems on the door were oddly very detailed? Especially the bottom coughpotentiallyrubyandsapphirecough ones.
 
OMG, Pearl. Ugh, at first she was pissing me off but when she spoke her feelings about Rose which seemed like a mother-daughteresque type relationship or (very) big sisterly, I finally understood. I first thought she was just a fangirl for her leader but she truly cherished her. So, yeah. Another great SU episode, no surprise there.

This is going to be the best week ever. I'm starting to think SU shouldn't even be on CN because, though it is a great accomplishment for Sugar to be the first woman with her own creation and all that jazz, it doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves over other shows. Prior to REALLY getting into SU, Regular Show was my all time favorite show, now every RS episode seems very, very dull.

A big war is coming. Do you think Lapis will move to Earth? Also, it was nice to see Greg be helpful and for Garnet to recognize what Greg did to help.

First of all, it was funny seeing Steven take off a shirt and another shirt just like it is under it. Steven is getting more mature and even stopped a possible riot. I still do not like Mayor Dewey. The only thing that I will give him credit for is making Steven aware that his avoidance of truth can be compared to how the gems act with Steven. The gems were truthful with Steven when he realized that avoiding the truth just so others aren't scared solves nothing, while banding together to figure out a solution does.
 
I haven't finished the episode, BUT VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR REFERENCE ALREADY. I LOVE THIS SHOW EVEN MORE. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!???!!?!?!
