Splatoon

Posted this somewhere else but figured you guys might also find it interesting

First off, it became apparent that there is a pretty big difference between the perk being the main ability or a sub ability on your gear. Having the attack perk as the main ability on my gear raised my damage by about 9-10%, while having it as a sub ability only raised it by 3%.

When trying to stack these on top of each other, I also noticed there was a diminish in how much each stacked perk would grant you. For example, 2 stacked main attack perks would grant me about a 16% damage increase as opposed to 18%, and 2 stacked sub attack perks granted me about 5.5% damage increase. This shows the importance of your main abilities, as not even 3 stacked sub perks would equal out to 1 main perk of the same type.

I did a little more testing to see some optimal setups and found these interesting:

1 Main / 2 Sub attack on the Gal shooters made them go from a 3 shot kill to a very nice 2 shot kill
2 Main / 1 Sub attack on the Rapid Blaster made it go from a 2 shot kill to a nuts 1 shot kill if you get a direct shot

I was addicted to that show when it came out, now I am addicted to it again. If the splatoon costumes to NA, I will have a heart attack.
somebody made a good point in that in order for it to be used online other countries would have to be able to see it, so it'd be more of a hassle to make it region restricted.
 
some one. pls pinch me. this has got to be a dream. Fuck I might have to break down and buy a WiiU now. like... shit fuck damn it. I love this world sometimes.... we finally get our squidiles invading the world.
 
They DID bring over those Nissan karts for Mario Kart 8 despite said promotion being Japan-only, so I'm sure they'd follow suit for the Squid Girl costume for Splatoon
 
the only problem I can imagine happening is if the dubbing company for Squidgirl decides to act like an asshole with royalty stuff or whatever.
but I highly doubt that.
 
I may finally be able to pick up this game sometime next week. Hopefully nothing else gets in the way.

About that Mario leak thing, I personally hope it's fake. Splatoon is its own personal I.P, at least wait until the big August update to start adding other Nintendo games into it. However, I do admit I want to see the Bowser Jr. Bandana from Alex's picture and F.L.U.D.D. get into the game, just not Mario himself. Where would he even fit in Splatoon's timeline, anyway?
 
who fucking cares about time line shit. It's DLC stuff from amiibos and that shit is good. THE MORE THIS GAME GETS THE BETTER. and if mario helps bring in all the other kids into this then i'm fine with that. Business practices baby, taking an old product giving it new value ( mario amiibos giving out DLC to Splatoon ) and giving higher incentive to buy a product that has ties to one of your previous financial/ social successes. Nintendo is finally starting to use their noggins.
 
The Inklings created an ink clone based on all the games they found at the bottom of the ocean, obvs.
 
To be honest with you, if putting in amiibos from other series and just giving you some special gear from those games, that would be ok with me. Not just shoving a middle-aged man into a paintball fight with 14-year-olds. It would be like the Spongebob episode where Mr. Krabs has a midlife crisis all over again.
 
Holy hell... In a single week they've launched online ranked battles, gave us a new map and released the highly anticipated Inkbrush. ONE WEEK

Come on nintendo, release another map. I originally liked Port Mackerel, but my bread and butter Tentatek Splattershot outranges literally 2 weapons and nothing else so my experiences there are a little less than stellar. I would like to see that one pier looking stage from single player be converted to a map. Is it just me or does anyone else think will that happen?

Also I managed to pick up an extra Squidgirl and Silver Mario ($10.39 each; thanks gamers club!). I'm probably gonna feel dirty but I need to offset expenses so I'm selling the squidgirl (unless someone has an extra Lucina/Ness.....cries). I already have a three-pack.

Ah, yes....I have one or two of those as well. I'm slowly whittling mine down. I'm near the end of both Yakuza 4 and Sonic: Lost World. Lost World isnt bad, but there's a lot it could do better. Also, **** most of those snow stages and the casino stage; though, it was good for farming extra lives.

EDIT: Also **** that desert stage with the tornado. I got all the red coins except one that I wasted soooo many lives trying to get.

Does anyone else really not like the new map? The narrow hallways make it more difficult than it should be to even just walk. I always feel like it's just a game of whoever gets there first wins.
 
I haven't touched online yet. I've been running updates and fixing my computer for a while to fix some hangs.
Someone console me. Tell me what it's like when a boy squid gets his ink all over a girl squid.....and then the girl squid returns the favor.
