A lot of stuff happened for NEC today, oodles of good news! So I just felt like adding a bit of incentive.

So i'm trying to have a EC vs the world 10v10 at Combo Breaker

As you can see, 4 slots are open. So, this how we'll decide 3 of them.

I'll be hosting 3 separate tournaments at NEC aside from Singles, no entry, nothing like that, the winner of the team gets to be on Team East Coast at Combo Breaker. That's your prize, you get to take on the WORLD.

Planning:
Depending on time these may happen all at separate times, or if timing permits, we'll just run all 3 of them in a row. It all depends.

BYOC area or a certain hotel room, obviously I will make sure everyone interested will be updated. Via twitter and whatever else, trust me, if you WANT to enter you'll know when/where its happening.

----------

Requirements to be allowed into the tournament:
-Must represent/reside in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North, Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and/or Florida to be allowed on the EAST COAST team.

-Must be 99.9% positive that you will indeed BE at Combo Breaker. My goal is to have to very little plan b's, if you enter these tournaments you very well plan on BEING at Combo Breaker. The .1% is for the true unblockable, if something happens where you plan on attending but you no longer can't (personal issues/serious engagement/weddings) its fine, things happen. Just enter the tournament if you know gosh darn well you are already going to CB or you are in the motions of making sure you can go.

-Can't be on the team already, obviously. If you win tournament #1 you can't enter tournaments 2 and 3, and obviously me and the other 5 confirmed members can't enter either.

-REAL TALK: If you don't have confidence in yourself, don't enter. Enter this tournament if you GENUINELY think you have what it takes to qualify in this high level 10v10. I will not say no to anyone if they have the right qualifications mentioned above, I will not disallow anyone to enter in terms of skill, as long as you truly believe in your own ability and you REALLY think you belong in the 10. You may enter, but if you don't have confidence in yourself or your gameplay this isn't for you.

----------

Tournament Rules:
-PS3

Whatever NEC/CB is running on we'll make sure the qualifiers are running on the same hardware. Just be sure to have a stick or controller ready. Once we get closer to the tournament i'll be able to confirm this further.

-Default in game rules of course.

-SINGLE ELIMINATION

The exhibition itself is "single elim" in the sense that if you lose once you're done. No second chances, therefor no reason to give you second chances to qualify.

-2/3 sets.

-TEAM LOCK (Regardless of set count)

The exhibition will be team lock, so this will be as well. TEAM ORDER, AND ASSISTS ARE ALLOWED TO CHANGE WIN OR LOSS.

If anyone has any questions please let me know, remember its 3 tournaments. So you have 3 chances to make it out and be apart of the team. Good luck!!

Sadly I probably won't make Combo Breaker, so I won't compete, but I can try to help you get people to you when you need them.
Hopefully.

I'd like to enter, gonna put in the work for NEC to get good enough to make a good showing

Okay people with interest to be involved with this...

Friday night or Saturday night? Choose!

It'll be rather late in the evening either at BYOC or in some hotel room, everyone will be playing under the same circumstances so don't give me that "too late in the night" mumbo jumbo.

Anyone against have this on Friday night?

Everyone going to be here? It'd work best because we might be able to do it at the venue.

i dont know of anyone who isn't gonna be there friday, I didn't vote anything cause I didn't really have a preference but i can do either

So its next week guys! Just want to run by some stuff in this post so I can make sure everyone is on the same page.

It will be going down Friday either AFTER teams, or starting near the end of teams if setups allow. So basically be in the ballroom Friday night. Teams start at 7PM so plan accordingly.

QUICK NOTE: The venue might close early, if this occurs we may have to have the qualifiers in a hotel room or a BYOC area or something. If you have issues with that hold that sorry, its all getting done Friday.

Just a quick TL;DR of the format of these tournaments.

-3 quick tournaments, with each winner of the tournaments qualifying for a spot on "Team East Coast" for the EC v the World 10v10 exhibition at Combo Breaker 2016.

- MUST KNOW THEY'RE GOING OR AT LEAST REALLY CERTAIN THEY WILL BE AT CB

-Can't enter if already on the team

-You may enter all 3 tournaments if you aren't on the EC team yet

-Must represent/reside in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North, Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and/or Florida to be allowed on the EAST COAST team.

-Single Elim

-2/3 games all the way through

-Character/Team Lock. Assists/order may change.

Also I might be hella busy with 3s stuff, so @mcpeanuts has agreed to assist me in running this so s/o to him <3 <3 <3

So 3/4 of the remaining spots are decided by winners of mini-tournaments which only EC-people can enter (and thus technically are rather bad at determining how well you do at fighting "the world"), and 1/4 slots are chosen by how well ppl do at the actual NEC tournament and Frosty Faustings?

It's cool if I run the brackets while blind drunk, right

Yes

Its still proving who the better players of the EC are offline, which is what we have to work with sooo makes sense to me xD

It also gave a lot of our picks of players motivation to really grind and be apart of the team, so its working that way too. Way better then doing some janky online thing xP

Yeah 6 of the spots are already filled, so 9 spots will be filled by NEC and then the 10th pick we'll just all discuss and choose as a team to get some sort of decision. Unless of course someone who isn't the 9 players already chosen plays mad well at NEC/FF then yeah.

When New York / EC is indisputably the strongest region in the world for SG this is a fair way to decide it. Anyone who wins one of these qualifiers is more than strong enough to be on the team imo. Not to mention the format favors people who are strong in 2/3 formats. People who enter these tournaments are also going to WANT a slot on the team and probably have the motivation to keep working through combo breaker.

Okay guys its so close ahhh!

Just a reminder it'll be starting off either after teams or near the conclusion of teams pending on the amount of setups we have.

It'll happen at the venue so long as we have time but it may end up in a hotel room later on.

To make sure everyone that needs to be there is there, i'll post my number below. Text me (DONT CALL ME I PROBABLY WONT HEAR YOU NEC IS LIT) if you have questions as to where/when the event will take place if you aren't near where everyone is. I will guide you and let you know if its at the venue or whatever hotel room it is!
