Beowulf SPOILERS - Beowulf Story Mode and Other Lore

SO ONE QUESTION I HAVE!!!
Was Zane always Beowulf's agent?

Maybe not always, but probably since around when Grendel happened. Given certain comments about "Just like old times" or "not like it was in the old days," and Double's implied manipulation of Canopy royalty and Medici mafia into war with the Gigans... "Zane's" probably been around for a while. Double probably needed somebody willing to fight Gigans, and, as scared as most people were at the time, Beo would've been the only one willing to challenge them in the ring.

RE Bella's fighting skill- she did beat people up for the Mafia. It's worth mentioning the Medicis probably aren't the only Mafia in town, they're just the biggest and meanest. (See also: Fishbone Gang.) I think I read somewhere that Fortune would be her first kill, but she's still no stranger to violent random encounters. It's maybe not professional training like Parasoul's, but certainly street smarts. She also has hidden knives thanks to learning a few of Black Dahlia's ninja tricks. It's just easy to underestimate Cerebella because she gets tossed around like a certain Klingon aboard the Enterprise D. It'd be funny if she canonically has the flu and we find out in SG2 that Cerebella survives everybody else's story mode by staying home with a big bowl of chicken noodle soup.

SO...

Any ideas on how Dr. Avian survived the assault on Lab 8? Only thing I can think of is, because Double was watching Beowulf fight Big Band, Valentine was alone in the assault and managed to be repelled. Inadvertently distracting the distraction, as it were. That, or because Beowulf only beat up Big Band a little, Band was able to get back there in time to save him. (Okay, only two things I can think of, then...)

On the other hand... we saw Big Band tied to the "sticky, sticky walls" in Gehenna, so Avian's survival makes even less sense, unless... Annie? Or there was a second assault on Lab 8, but Avian was in hiding that time? This makes sense- hence Double's sharktooth necklace after Beo fights Valentine.

Also, has anybody compiled and explained the wrestling references? My only exposure prior to Beowulf is Roddy Piper from They Live (and, technically, Saints Row IV), so I assume a bunch of things went over my head.

Since it's the whole common theme for Avian to get killed off, I was surprised to see him live in this one.
There was nothing that said Double was watching Beowulf fight Big Band. Like the other timelines, Double probably helped in the assault, as evidenced by the shark tooth necklace.
It could be possible that Big Band got back in time, but I don't want to bet on that fact.
My theory is that Lab 8 actually held up more of a fight this time, leading of course to their capture, which could explain why Avian wasn't outright killed; he most likely would have been kept as a sacrifice for Gehenna.

Heres my idea maybe Peacock got back before big band and Val did. since Beowulf was fighting Val she arrived later and Peacock was bale to save the lab.

But it's just Tuesday?

You think Beowulf killed another wolf for his new outfit?

I feel like one day,Beowulf just went and slaughtered a dozen wolves so he can have more than one of his outfit just in case.

How else would he become king of the jungle. Leonidas Moment x12

He didn't slaughter them, they came to him.
They acknowledge him, thus they were honoured that such a man, a man of such strength and honour, may wear their coat as his own.

They probably threw their coats at him

You could say they pelted him with them

When i said "physycal strenght" i was refering to just raw strenght without the use of weapons or parasites, i don't see Peacock packing a good punch, or at least one as strong as the rest of the roster.

Not quite fair to strip a character of enhancements, as enhancements is what Peacock is.

Without them, she's a blind limbless 13 year old girl. She could bite you, but she has no teeth. Maybe munch you a little.

Beowulf vs "vanilla" Peacock would be the shortest and most awkward fight in history.

I can see the news now:

37 Year-old man lays the smackdown on crippled blind girl.

But seriously, though, a lot of this is Wulf Den material, so let's move the jokey discussions over there please. I'm trying to make suggestions so we can organically move the non-lore talk to the general character thread, so please help me out and don't make me do mod stuff when I shouldn't have to <3

So Avian's survival, somehow thanks to the chaos caused by Beowulf:

While Beowulf is flexing in front of what he thinks is the camera crew (an embarrassed Minette), a defeated Big Band grumbles: "I knew it! While I was wasting time with you, they got to Avian!"

But Avian apparently didn't die. Three things are required to get Dr. Avian killed in other story modes:

1. Peacock pursues a wild goose chase of Theonite readings
Avery: The Theonite Resonance Detector is picking up a huge reaction downtown!
2. While tracking the Skullgirl like a detective, Big Band is lead astray by Theonite readings
Big Band: Time to check out the River King Casino. A Medici joint lit up like a Christmas tree with Theonite readings -- if it's not the Skullgirl, I don't know what it is.
3. Valentine guides Double and Marie to Lab 8 and let's them in. (I want to see in Robo Fortune's story if Valentine also leads them to Lab 0 so Brain Drain can get rekt too)

Perhaps Beowulf's fight with Valentine (occurs before Big Band) delayed events enough for Peacock to get back to the lab in time. Not enough time to save Stanley from getting gulped, but enough to prevent Dr. Avian from serious injury.

He didn't.
A distraught Peacock made a new Avian.
Is what I believe and will always believe.
I like this terrifying notion of Peacock's bizarre power. How long before the imaginary friends she wills into existence become perfected, indistinguishable from normal humans?

Don't misunderstand me i wasn't pitting her against anybody, specially Beo who i'm sure is one of the strongest characters in raw strenght, just stating that she's is not as physically strong as some people make her out to be, also when i did that post i was thinking of Peacock keeping her artificial limbs, just not her parasyte powers like the lasers or teleportations or weapons, just the limbs.

Also one doesn't need to pit 2 characters in a fight to know which one is physically stronger.

Oh yeah, I also didn't agree with Dave when he said Peacock could down a bear in a bare-handed fight.
hehehe, bear-handed fight.

Why would you point out the pun

It doesn't need to be mapped

Not enough time to save Stanley from getting gulped
Are you insisting that Stanley died?
Because he didn't.
If not, sorry for taking it the wrong way. again

Nah, I mean Stanley probably got to Gehenna the same way Beowulf did, by literally being swallowed by Double.

I'm curious to see what exactly happens after the jaws close. From the outside, what happens next?

1. Something inside Double magically teleports the victim to Gehenna. Double is free to transform back into a human shape, her "stomach" empty.
2. The unconscious Dagonian scientist remains helplessly suspended in slimy, pulsating flesh as Double transforms into a big, but passable human form (big like Hubrecht or Big Band). Then proceeds to waddle, overburdened with Stanley wrapped in the middle, to somewhere to deliver its prey to Gehenna (those glowy veins of energy layer).
3. Double breaks physics. Magically, reality-breaking power. Double can be a tiny human on the outside, but a palace of gore on the inside. Double can impossibly be outside Gehenna while Gehenna is inside her. Swallow Stanely and he's instantly there.

The 3rd one sounds coolest, so I'm going with that one.
It definitely sounds like something Alex would write.

The third one actually seems feasible. Remember Venus? "The lady is only the central part of a much larger creature. If the rest of her is visible, the observer has already been engulfed". Something loosely like that.

Maybe she does decreases the swallowed victim's size to be so small that he/she can be transported inside a very small portion of flesh from her all the way to gehenna, kinda like how Majin Buu from DBZ could absorb people with a very small part of his flesh, make it grow to swallow the victim, and then make said flesh piece small again to fuse with him.

Maybe she is a TARDIS...

So I haven't been on this thread in a long time due to a biased opinion (people who use tumblr would know the details). Since there's a possibility that I have missed (and will miss in the future) some of the post-Beowulf Lore Speculation, I think someone else should moderate the OP.

I'm also removing "Super" from the title because it's not as super as I thought it'd be.

That's enough for this post. Cheers.

Since it has been said that Beowulf's metal plates should be discussed somewhere else, let's discuss it here!

Beowulf has a metal plate in his head that may be canon or may be artistic humor..the world may never know.

I think it's to prevent him from looking boring, like how Parasoul's skeleton has her necklace. Then again they could've put an extra x-ray on Beowulf's hood.

Now that you mention it, why didn't the artist draw an x-ray of the hood? Alex did say it was real, I guess it was just an unnoticed opportunity.
