Dogs had twice the people, still lost to Cats in the final match results for win totals. Only the popularity numbers got them the win.

It was pretty unclear how they were going to tabulate to be fair to people. Since both sides are likely to be pretty even in success due to getting matched with randoms, for the future you pretty much have to pick who you think is more popular, not who you want to support. Since that extra effort to get you over the top is completely meaningless.

Man all of this is reminding me of the War update way-back in the day.
Calling cat people Tavish DeGroot from now on.
 
This is a snail economy we live in, fun doesn't factor into it.

Unless playing to win is fun, which I think the FGC would say it is, no matter the game.

Got the game Yesterday, barely got to play for Team Dog as I went to a Baseball Game, but still racked up some Sea Snails.

Just stomped the Octo Stamp with Regular Story mode and The Boy Amiibo, gonna knock out the Girl and the Squid challenges before calling a halt for today as a Kid and a Squid.

Yeah been very busy with annoying life things.....so I hope to be back on skullheart more... heck I even miss DDB's obsession nature for Annie lol..regardless why is everyone trying to prove whats better cats and dogs are both cool and I lost and still had so much fun at splatfest X3

Did you choose a side at least?
 
I understand why Dogs won and I'm not upset about it but I DO understand how some people could view it as unfair as to why they one, based on how the end result was based on a combination of popularity + amount of wins (with dogs having more popularity and cats having more wins)

And to the argument about "oh well you chose the less popular one" well nobody was given numbers or any kind of idea who was more popular prior to the end results so that argument is sorta out of the window...
 
And honestly it's not like the losers went out empty-handed.

They still got 18 sea snails.

That's pretty generous.

Good old fashioned luck...

We had the japanese splatfest results, but most people would know about that
That said, I think the next splat fest should make match making more random, instead of matching people of similar skill. It could possibly make the battle results further apart.
 
Mine was pretty random the few matches I was in. several 1-3 lever lpalers with one or two 15-20 players. May have been based more on connection.
 
I am less likely to die from a water slide, so...

Roller coasters have a long wait...but Water slides are full of piss. Can i choose team bumper cars?

Just writing in to say that Team Rock smashed it in the first European Splatfest. I'd vote for Rollercoasters, to please the almighty Callie. The best squaifu.
