Street Fighter V

Man, I don't really want them to change Cammy's face. I liked it. If they reduce her muscles though, I'll be pissed off. I miss old SFII Chun Li having defined arms already, so this would be disappointing.

While we are at the aesthetics subject, i must say that i really want a Model Viewer like the one we have in Marvel 3...

I love to use videogame models as reference. and a 3d model is very helpful.

I was complaining about cammy's old face. I think it looks really bad.

I don't know what people are going on about in this thread about "Japanese Culture" and "Japan complained about Cammy's face" shit I saw a TON of people on English message boards saying how bad cammy's face looks in the e3 build. All over SRK, Eventhubs, Maximilian's stream chat, youtube comments etc.

Stop attributing stuff to Japan that you have no idea if its true or not, please. Even if it is true, its not unique to Japan at all.

As a side note, isn't Cammy confirmed to be ethnically Russian in Decapre's story mode?

Edit - I don't think the E3 build face is even the same one that's in the PS4 beta either, so she's been changed a lot. So has Vega.
.....did you not see my question mark?
I didn't "attribute" anything to japan, I was asking a question because it sounded ridiculous. :/
And I was on plenty of message boards as well and I can say that in my experience, more people liked her face. Your experience is not anyone else's. And neither of our experiences is definitively the norm.

I was looking her alt costume in V, she has pretty defined arms. I mean, she kinda needs it, she got her Back + Fierce again. =P

Where is my R.Mika palette switching her colors with Nadeshiko and vice versa

Sorry I got a bit carried away there. I was just seeing a general trend of blaming japan for changing Cammy's face in the thread and elsewhere. I misdirected my frustration at you.

I stand by the rest of that post though.

Is it R. Mee-ka or R. Mike(Z)-Ka? I always used to pronounce it the latter. SFXT will still always be SF EX T for me.

it's R. (mIke)
those of you who voice and diction should hopefully get what I wrote.

I just found it weird that they gave Cammy Angelina Jolie lips. Not complaining tho

I think is the japanese pronunciation in this case. Since, well, she is japanese.

Forget palettes, they can swap the models as a costume
let us play as Yamato with Mika as the assist

I really hope that isn't a one hit kill.

I counted 5 dust 'power up' indicators that has a distinct sound effect. Safe to assume the more power ups you reach is where the damage buffs come for your throw.

The first one happens nearly instantly so you can get that one out reliably even under pressure considering you got one hit of armor to work with.

The 2nd dust cloud you might still get out consistently if your opponent is full screen away playing lame projectile game and has no way to cover the distance fast. Anything past that though and it's gimmick unless there are some tech setups. Even then it would be matchup specific and I doubt optimal.

If you let R Mika get to level 5 when she has one armor with that much time it takes then honestly you deserve a potential one hit grab ko.

Considering you have to sit there for 20 seconds total for it, it better be an OHKO
=v

Can she store the buff or does it go away if she whiffs a grab or gets hit out of the promo cut, etc

I wonder if the buffs stack no matter the amount of times you use the V-Skill without throwing or if it resets when performing it again.

Multiple V-skills better not stack throw buffs. That would mean just running away and hearing HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY for like 30+ seconds and then they die from a command grab.

You probably can get around 2 stacks after a critical art because of the knockdown, but i guess you have to give up any potential knockdown setup to get those stacks.

And one thing, this video really shows how buff and strong Mika is more clearly.

Also, another note, it seems that if you hit Mika, she loses her v-skill buff completely.

Anyone who's been in more than 2 different games, probably

Although it's interesting that even now they didn't just come out and say "SF2 characters" or "SFA characers"
maybe we'll get a curveball with the vets

Yeah, with wording like that characters like Alex could be pretty much in either group.

'Classic' and 'not seen in awhile' is vague.

It could either mean it was a character that was playable during the run of SFIV or it could be something else entirely. For example, Alex could technically be considered both depending on how you look at it.

His last playable appearance was TvC which was awhile ago from one perspective, but when you compare it to characters that only appeared in the Alpha era it doesn't really seem awhile at all. Does Capcom consider 'SF3' era characters 'not seen in awhile'?

Anyway what we got for launch

'Classic' [8 slots; no disputes]

Ryu
Chun-Li
Cammy
Dictator
Ken
Claw

'New' [4 slots; no disputes]

Necalli

'Hasn't seen in awhile' [4 slots; no dispute]

Charlie
Birdie
R Mika

Y'know, the super best friends did mention that Akuma has been in every street fighter since 2.

I'm going to guess that "Classic" characters are characters who were in SF4 and "Haven't seen in awhile" are returning characters who were not in SF4 (Alex, Q, Urien, Karin, etc.).

so...

Classic: Ryu, Chun, cammy, Vega, Bison, Ken.

Long time no see: Nash, Birdie, Mika.

New: Necalli.

This destroys the Siliconera Leak completely, unless they count sf3 characters as classics, which is not true.

I feel a little disappointed by this piece of news (I was holding out for a few SF3 chars). If they follow the trends that they've set the new characters are most probably SF2 and SFA character. They have eluded to this before, and the segmented character portraits were a clue as well, but I'm abit surprised that Matt/capcom would just go out and say "classics...who you'd expect to see in a SF game". This seems to clearly suggest SF2. We'll see what happens, but I wish Matt was a bit more vague.

Is Balrog/Boxer die?

All sf2 characters were playable on sf4, so classic means that probably....

My bet for the last 2 classics would be, between Sagat, Akuma and Balrog (boxer). Sakura, while not a sf2 character, she is kinda classic now, being in alpha and sf4.

"Long time no see".

My bet is Karin for this one. Or Urien/Alex, if they are going to put a sf3 character. but i'm sure it is karin.

And 3 new characters.

I think the last "long time no see" character is either Alex or Urien, most likely the former, but I'm hoping for Necro.

The last two classic characters......I'm feeling Akuma(mixed with Oni) and Guile, but Maybe one will be replaced byBalrog/Blanca/Honda.

Out of the last three new characters, I think at least one of them will be a spiritual successor to a previous fighter.

Oh, and random select is Twelve.

FYI the siliconera leak never confirms they were all in the starting roster just that they will be in the game. One would logically assume that would mean starting roster, but if it isn't that doesn't necessarily destroy the leak. Reminder they called R Mika [which before was one of the more unlikely candidates] from over a month before her reveal so give credit where credit is due.

Anyway looking at the list again I'm kind of disgusted how many SF2 era characters there are in this distribution ratio. Them alone is potentially half the starting roster being eaten up.

I already have my mains, so i'm not worried about the roster that much anymore.

But yeah, the number of sf2 characters is something annoying.

Mainly because more than a decade ago Capcom was bold enough to do a game with few sf2 characters.

Putting SF2 characters is the true fanservice here.

True, but the DLC system means we could get basically literally anyone eventually, so, eh. If Urien, Alex and Karin end up in the game shortly after launch, then maybe it was real, doubting it though.

Mika's card was all fighting Sakura, Sakura is not by any means a classic Street Fighter character, so if that card means anything I'm betting Karin. It could also mean nothing though.

To be fair SFIII (I assume your talking about that) didnt fare too well partially due to that. People played it, but I feel it wasnt fully appreciated until much later in it's lifespan.

Yeah, i'm talking about SFIII. And that is the reason that i call putting SF2 characters the "true fanservice".

There is no bigger fanservice than appealing to nostalgic feelings.
