  • Mike a few days ago someone ask how many combinations of characters are and you said 2380
    and that number is incorrect, for exemple you're counting paras+pain+squigly, painw+squigly+paras and squigly+paras+painw as 3 diferent combination.
    what you have to do to get the number is a combination. If i did it well it is 469 combinations

    I wouldn't have said 2380, cuz 14*13*12 = 2184. :^)
    "14 choose 3" is 364, which is MF/SQ = SQ/MF. However, in a team game with assists and DHCs (not CvS2, etc) SQ/MF is NOT the same as MF/SQ, so I'd still take the larger number because order is very important. See?
    Hey Mike, will any of the UI stuff be available in the Art Compendium when it's done? I've been wanting the character icons to use for button art for a long time, but the only good vectors I can find are of the original cast, none for the DLC characters.

    I was self-taught for a while, but I also took AP Computer Science in highschool and during my senior year I went to the local technical college and took their C++ courses.
    I hope Indivisible will have crazy speedrunning glitches like SM. GG and congrats on the announcement, I wish you all the best of luck with this new and exciting project <3

    The amount of hard work and dedication that you and the rest of Lab Zero put into Skullgirls is truly inspirational. I can't wait for you to have some time to relax and not worry about fixing the game.
    Didn't think this was worth making a thread for but had no place to put it, most Vita games allow you to play your own music while playing a game, was just wondering if this was going to happen for SG.

    We did it on PS3, 360, and PS4, so I see no reason why not. Although we have not gotten to that yet.

    Oh, thanks. Didn't realize you did it for PS3, so few games do I forget that it's an option.
    I've always hated having little mobility in fighting games so I tended to dismiss most grapplers but Skullgirls has shown me how fun a lot of grappler tools are so I've gone back and picked up Pot in +R and Hugo in 3S. Now I'm having more fun than ever, thanks for showing me how wrong I was.

    Mike, I've always wondered: SG is of course inspired by MvC2, but did anything about the soundtrack of MvC2 influence the kind of jazz you wanted to be in SG? Or do you just consider it to be bad elevator music?

    I don't care what people say, Marvel 2's soundtrack is amazing whether you're fighting or not. They made it smooth and relaxing so you wouldn't take getting bodied so seriously.
    You put up with too much. Just be like Hideki Kamiya and ban/block everyone that asks dumb questions...

    Well then, as a serious response - he's not interested in community feedback for his (primarily single-player) games, and he's got every right not to be. His money is his own. On the other hand I *am* interested in it, and I will wade through any amount of junk to make sure the game is the best versus experience it can be. Until we're done, that is, at which point I don't have to anymore. :^)

    Animation there's a multimidia course also but I don't know if I'll waste too much time and money getting all these things there that I could get by myself. I took the bait of these "schools" once.Ifeel ashamed

    BS in CompSci degree is what I have, so I recommend general CompSci education. Most of games comes from experience, and it's nice to be able to work at another job in case games ends up not for you, which a stricty games background doesn't really allow. Lua is useful, Python less so, from my experience anyway. Don't care if programmers can animate...?

    It's the same Xbox 360 that I used to buy the game on when Encore was released and it's the same Xbox account that purchased the game which I used recently to download Beowulf.

    Every DLC seems to work fine for the game and no corruption to the data with them. Just Beowulf, when starting the game (just pressing hard drive save) it says it's been corrupted and for my sisters, she can't even get past the first menu screen.

    I wanted to say thank you for answering my question and say I wish you did more talks about game mechanics from your perspective, it's interesting and educational, I'd love explanations like that for Skullgirls or other games like Guilty Gear. I know you're busy, I'm just saying it would be something fun and interesting for fans and I can't imagine you wouldn't enjoy talking about something you clearly enjoy.
    Hey hi uh just a lil question! Would you ever consider tacking on the extra 200~ damage when Fenrir Drive hits the ground onto the chomp part and end the super there? Might just be me, but it feels kind of weird when the opponent get's KOd by the little "thud" instead of the giant teeth monster.

    If you mean palette number...uh...3, was it? Because it looked very very similar to some other color and we needed more room. If you didn't get the reference it was kinda just "drab brown color the 3rd," part of the aim is to provide colors that are also visually interesting as non-references. Everything is *someone's* favorite, but you were in the very small minority.

    Will Squigly's Crouching Hard Kick (C.HK?) ever get it's hitbox increased? even if by a very little bit? Big Band and Beowulf too big, combo breakers too good, buff pl0x.

    Forget my request, after trying over 40 times i was finally able to get the timing on the dash so the flames hit Beowulf after Grave Digger, triggering his Infinite burst without it hitting me and reseting with Silver Chord, Just a question, where Squigly's flames (C.HP, not C.HK, my bad ) nerfed in one of the updates? feels like the range is smaller.

    According to the logs for the frames directory, c.HP's hitboxes have not changed since July 28th, 2013.
