Not really. Many parts of the game are quite obviously "We're gonna try something new and we don't really know HOW it should work yet," like pushblock or bubbles or no-recovery flying Dark Forces, so some things are pretty dumb, and there are half-circles and crazy motions because that was in fashion at the time, but that's about it. Most of the mechanics stuff is pretty solid, and the intentions behind what they did are pretty in-line with how I'd experiment.

Steam is me pushing a button. It won't be up until he is out on consoles, so that is what determines the time.

Those are the things I was talking about. There are a lot of VS players who love the game because of how they work. And to them, changes are "dumbing the game down." VS players love pressing buttons. It's a very simple game. Its difficulty mainly comes from execution.

But it's good to know that you're not retiring from making fighting games after Skullgirls. Have you thought of making a game that plays similar to VS but with the Mike Z flavor? Or is it DS or no game at all? Maybe we should start bugging Ono to let Lab Zero develop a new DS. Capcom seems open to outside developers working on their IPs. Ninja Theory made DmC and Double Helix made Strider. Capcom might welcome the idea with open arms.

I think you misunderstood what I said.
The fact that flying Dark Force characters have invincible startup and no recovery is stupid, and it would make them a good bit more fair to have it.
The fact that Q-Bee's bubble bounces off the back of the screen, and Rikuo's can be blockstring'd into, are also stupid. (It could be unblockable unless you are already in blockstun, for example.)
Felicia's cat isn't overhead. Lots of guard cancels are awful and then there's Zabel's. There are a TON of completely useless supers. Command throws overlap with other special move inputs. Etc.
These are SOLVED PROBLEMS in later games. Any new Darkstalkers wouldn't include those things, even one by the original developer.
But it's good to know that you're not retiring from making fighting games after Skullgirls.

(Hint - the answer to pretty much any question is "With what money?" because we are DAMN sure not doing ANYTHING else on a shoestring budget EVER AGAIN. So someone will have to approach us, and thus far no other companies seem to care to.)

I doubt it. Strider was a throwaway game for an IP they never use. Darkstalkers is a close-held, Japanese-developed IP, that I doubt they would let a third party touch.
And I doubt they would want to work with us anyway, they've not been open to it so far.

But y'know, knock yourself out by asking! It'd be interesting to see the results, or a petition. Lawl.

One of the 2 million IP's they refuse to use. Because Capcom. That's all I have to say. It's Capcom *insert laugh track* (Does Capcom even use anything else? All I see is Monster Hunter, Resident Evil and Street Fighter. I don't count the crossover games, talking about individual titles).

Unless the other IPs are guaranteed sellers, I doubt Capcom, or any Japanese company, will use any IP that might not sell. Plus Capcom has to pay royalties to Moto Kikaku whenever they use Strider.

It just confuses me why they keep so many ips and dont do anything with them. Wouldnt it be more profit if they sold like 20 of the ips they will never use ever again

Knowing the japanese developers, stubornness seems the best idea.
 
Heck they even completely got rid of megaman, their most well known gaming icon! It's like Nintendo got rif of Mario...oh and they constantly said that they're not doing a new darkstalke because we haven't bought enough the digital rerelease. So yeah it might be worth a try and heck, they may even publish that!
 
Anyway back on topic, It's nice to see the console version being updated again. Cant wait to see it in action at NWM

Posting this here too in case there is still any confusion about it: He's really coming on Friday, 4/17 - we've confirmed it with Sony and everything! Daily rolling PSN updates are a new feature that's just kicking off tomorrow, making us one of the first titles taking advantage it.

Some people were insistent that Beo wouldn't come out that day because PSN usually only updates on Tuesdays.
 
xbox release is also on the 17th right? thatd be pretty sweet if true. wasnt it going through extra troubles that were delaying it?

also i read on the Blog 2nd encore? for skullgirls for PS3 and Vita and PS4? boo yeah i just hope you won't pull a fast one and have lobbies for PS4 only... i would rather play on my TV then PC any day for fighters.
