Blazblue

That's a hefty number of fans to just throw under the bus >_>

Well well well, never thought I'd see the day...

We're still waiting for the next game starring Alpha and Jubei, right?
The seal was broken.
...
At the cost of Liam and Matt.
*just read the news* well that was unexpected.

We might get Matt back eventually, but Liam has quit for realsies.
Even then, I dont think I can watch them play BBCF after the blood that was paid to get it.
Plus I don't think I'd be very entertained

and now we got THE emergency LP:

D A R K S O U L S

and no master key so we're getting legit blighttown. well not totally legit, since they got dsfix running.

I doubt we're gonna see DS1 until the DS3 dlc is finished. Matt's only gonna be gone for a couple months anyway.

Welcome to the Super Best Friends thread! Please ignore the title!

Yeah, I'll go to the other thread.

Sweet I'll actually be able to practice Mai when I'm not at Round One...
And here I *just* got a PS4. Well, at least I can practice in the meantime, and I still have Bloodborne.

YES! I was planning on buying it on PS4 once I finished the other three for single-player, but this is even better! I can wait for a Steam discount. :P

BlazBlue's dubs are good (at least the first one), but If it was really that big a deal, there would've been more than 6k signatures.

What's the big deal about dubs?
Blazblue had dubs since the the first iteration, and on what seems to be the finale (for now) we dont get to hear the voice we grew with. Its like watching a movie but the climax and resolution is in spanish with subs

I dunno, I consider their treatment of the cast for the dub a bit of a slap to the face. No real word as the why or even any communication with the staff and VAs who've worked on the game for years now that they wouldn't be dubbing it. On a game that sold itself and got well known to casuals for being that anime fighter with a good dub. I think its something that's core to BB. I also think Central Fiction's story is easily the laziest and a lot of corners were cut (no unlimiteds, lots of palette reused between characters). The gameplay is good but I can't reccommend it at full price for anyone that wants an experience past that

This.

I hope that Arcsys comes to its senses in the future.

They did it to reduce the time between Japan and US/EU releases.

Except the releases for BB up until Continuum Shift 2 we're all very close to each other while still being dubbed. The biggest gap between releases happened for Chrono Phantasma before they dropped the dub altogether to close the gap again for Central Fiction's release.

After CS2, if the Aksys reps who have spoken up are a decent enough resource, they did the localization only while Arc Sys dubbed in house after that point. Even if we disregard that, they clearly weren't having problems dubbing and having the games out in a extremely quick fashion, especially since almost all other localized games from Japan take about the same time as the release gaps between Chrono Phantasma's Japanese and English release dates.

Also, this is all using the US release dates. Release dates are a little more... Varied in their end, though some of them were still pretty close.

And even if the petition went better, whose to say if it would have actually changed anything on Arc She's side? Clearly they were able to release CF just as quick as it's predecessors, still get people to buy it, and save money by not dubbing it. To them, it'd be a win-win even if a few less people bought it.

Central Fiction is out on steam today. I don't really play Blazblue so I can't say much about. It seems like it has some bad porting nonsense that will probably be fixed soon.

...After all those PC ports they've done? Maybe ArcSys really is just dropping the ball since they have Guilty Gear back.

Anti-aliasing got screwed and the game looks way more pixely than before, and conncetion problems seem more prevalent than in previous games. That's my experience so far.

The story really, REALLY isnt worth it. It's pretty garbage until the very end...I mean, if you can find it on sale, I'd say go for it. Definately not worth $50 though.

I imagine it will get patched. Arcsys has been pretty good about patching their games on Steam (whether it should come to that or not is a different question).

That said, I'm holding off on buying it. I'm kind of tired of delay-based netcode which makes the tiny population this game is inevitably going to have mostly unplayable. I'm at the point where I am really only throwing money at GGPO-based fighters eg TFH and Punch Planet if it will hurry the fuck up :P .

Now that said, if a few months from now, it still has a decent community, I'll likely pick it up. Or I'll buy it on super sale for the trials only.

I've heard most of the problems for Blazblue only really effect the lower end of the PC quality spectrum, but its still prety bad the number of problems it has I think.

Really? My experience (at least with CPe on Ps4) has been quite positive. I run a tethered cellphone as my connection and even when I was data capped, it was pretty doable. Course I only played my friend, as I would get bodied in no time flat.

It is absolutely doable, but I think we are scrapping the bottom of the barrel. I average ~5 frames in Xrd. I imagine it would be the same in BB. But 5 frames of delay is literally the worst case scenario for SG... I won't even play that in SG, so I don't know why I've been making an exception for Arcsys.
