Yeah highly doubt the assists will have playable forms because of budget reasons. They want to put in as many characters as possible even if a lot of them end up as assists. Shame since I would main playable Tatsuya in a heartbeat.

Just make Zakuro playable with Dokuro still as an assist. Hell, I would welcome Minori as a support as well.
 
Has it been said whether the English release will be dubbed or not?

Because if not, it's entirely worthless to me and I might as well get this new version, I love The Devil is a Part-Timer.
But if it is, I apparently gotta decide between Emi and Crispin Freeman and I'm not sure who's gonna win that fight to be honest.
 
knowing recent localizations it won't be. My gut feeling says it's gonna be Japan audio only.
 
Heavy Object‘s Quenser Barbotage will be playable in the new Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax game, Sega announced.

Quenser is accompanied by fellow 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion members Heivia Winchell and Milinda Brantini, who are incorporated into his attacks.

Additionally, Major Froletia Capistrano will appear in the game as a partner character.

She is the commander of the 37th Mobile Maintenance Battalion of the Orthodox Kingdom.

The new Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is due out in Japanese arcades this summer.

Interesting, you can take a second assist character with you and choose between the two after each round
 
Man, I love Emi, but she looks really boring to play.

Also, it didn't look like they were choosing between assists, it looks like you can either power up your character or your assist character between rounds, maybe?
I don't know where that second assist person comes in.
 
So, wait, do all characters have the same number of palettes? Is Garbage-chan just catching up or getting special treatment, this is important for me to understand.

Also, yeah, it's worth saying I guess that the English port (which is confirmed to be only subbed and translated), is getting released October 6th.
 
Is that the only screenshot? I highly doubt that imouto is gonna get a bunch of color palettes for herself especially when the SAO characters exist that already got the 'special treatment' slot with two playables, an assist, and the main cover focus for the PS3 version for their representation.

Every god damn sword character is boring to play.

Shit, after you learn the 'fundamentals' of this game it becomes horrendously homogenized.
 
LMAO 'Onii-Sama' is now playable. He is easily the most OP canon wise in the playable roster now. Him being upgraded to playable makes sense since I would say he is the 2nd most popular Gary Stu besides Kirito since Mahouka ranked just below SAO II when it aired. The LN was always fairly popular too. Maybe Mahouka season 2 soon by using this game for promotion purposes?

I doubt his playstyle will do the character justice though when I read this.

Tatsuya’s main attacks consist of kicks. Although he doesn’t carry a long-range weapon, he is a tall character, so he has a bit of reach in himself. While he moves at standard speeds, he has a technique that lets him approach the enemy in an instant, and is an easy to use character for both beginner and advanced players.

Tatsuya is good at physical combat, but he is not a kicker specialist if anything he is Jujutsu mainly.
He does have a long range weapon it's Third Eye [pretty much looks like a 'sniper' rifle type equipment], but then again it's not really suitable for close range combat like this fighting game is. Still Trident [his "pistols"] isn't exactly CQB either. Either refers to his sheer ninja speed [doesn't use magic] that approaches enemy 'in an instant'.
Or refers to stunning his enemy [one of his current assist attacks] so he can cover his approach.


Also anything, but Material Burst for his finishing move is a bust. He would fly in the air activating his battle suit, use any matter [the larger the stronger it is, example below just used a bullet as a reactive] as a reactive and tactical nuke opponent.

Anyway this is interesting that they are finally getting around to making playable fighters out of their assists. They even made Miyuki have an assist role on top of her already playable role. Reminds me of what Nitroburst recently did to make Super Sonico playable when she was originally an assist. Hopefully more of that can happen since Dengeki has an interesting roster, but a lot of it is locked via assists.
 
What gets me about that "mobile but with few long-ranged options" description is that in the provided image he's firing a gun.

He'll use his guns to hit people or some nonsense so they can cover it up with a splash effect like the entire rest of the cast.

It's gonna be on PS3 and PS4? I bet there will be cross-play, much like with GG Xrd and CPEX.

Nothing particularly new besides more story screenshots and more gameplay. Although it shows a bit more of playable Tatsuya and assist Miyuki that currently is not in arcade yet. Looks like Tatsuya has some kind of divekick, but not sure if it's just a normal one or it's a move that follows up with a divekick ender. Also can't tell how much range his CADs has in the game since it looks like he uses them from full screen, but not sure if it connects. Miyuki assist looks like it will have decent range too [naturally], but not sure if it has homing properties or not.

Now that I think about it this game has a noticeable amount of brocon/siscon characters. This also makes Index now have the most reps [five which are Toma, Mikoto Misaka, Kuroko Shirai, Accelerator, and Kazari Uiharu ] in the game. Index is now tied with SAO and Mahouka for most playable reps which are two [Misaka/Shirai, Kirito/Asuna, Tatsuya/Miyuki].

During Dengeki stream they also confirmed a new stage from World's End Eclipse which is another Sega IP.
 
We have Accelerator already. Currently support only though. Kind of annoyed myself they are adding two more Index characters when Toma or Accelerator could have pulled a Tatsuya and been upgraded to playable. I bet a lot of Index fans begged them for Shirai to be playable since Misaka was already a playable.
