Not sure if playable, but Kalina Ann 2 is a thing that exists.
It's a gun for Dante.
DMC4:SE had microtransactions shoved into it as well yes but DMC4 was already a fully released game that was designed without microtransactions. DMC5 is built from the ground up with microtransactions in mind. Do you see how that's a crap comparison? (Bayo also doesn't have microtransactions so I'm not sure what your point was there Aden). There are already plenty of early indicators that DMC5's microtransactions will, at the very least, be worse than DMC4 (increased integration with the actual combat, advertising them in-game, etc) so I see no reason to give Capcom the benefit of the doubt.
I'm like 60% sure the original DMC 4 had micro transactions in the original console release. I am 100% sure Dragon's Dogma had them, and there was no issue there. And the point about Bayonetta was that it's going to be hard to draw a line here that isn't hypocritical at best when you say "oh man, this is clearly balanced for micro-transactions" because you have to play the game to unlock something you can pay for, since other games have worse grinds that you can't pay for. And where is that line anyway? Go (re)play Devil May Cry 3, I promise it will surprise you how much of a grind that game actually is for everything.
It feels like people are going to bitch about this no matter what, since unless they get enough orbs for everything every mission it's clearly balanced around microtransactions.
The funniest part of this is the microtransactions are going to make your gameplay experience worse if you're most people, especially people not adept at these games. Not learning the tools you have and just burying yourself in more isn't going to work out.
And "it's at least going to be worse", how? You said advertising in game, please, cite that for me because I am unaware of it, or are you saying that a store option in the main menu is an advertisement for the microtransactions specifically? And more integration to the combat? This one is tough to even address because of all the factors at play here, but you're telling me that a weapon that gives you more red orbs means the microtransactions are worse since you won't have to buy them? You could respond saying the balance of how many you get could be set to the transactions, but that works the other way as well, who's to say that the weapon itself doesn't effect the grind balance?
This whole thing is stupid because there has yet to be any proof that there is anything wrong with the game in anyway, and conveniently short memories will paint it as being extortion no matter what.
And all that said, should there be microtransactions? No. Fuck no. Full price games shouldn't have microtransactions, and what's more, for the "well I should have the option to pay to skip unlocking [stuff]" crowd, you're paying extra to not play a full price game you already paid for, that's nonsensical. These games have always been structured around learning and building a toolset the first playthrough, then moving on to the actual game in your later runs. Platinum has also continued this tradition. I'm not defending stupid options, but I am pointing out that people are complaining about issues they have largely made up in the face of contrary evidence.
