Man, though. At this point I'm waiting to see what kinda shit Arcsys will pull outta their ass for the DLC, what rules will be established for picking.
Like..
Non-Canon Movie characters in consideration? (Bardock, Broly, Janemba?)
Are Joke characters allowed? (Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, Mr. Satan, Farmer with Shotgun?)
Will it be other forms of other characters? (Urgh... Scouter Vegeta, The Great Saiyaman, Fused Zamasu?)
Perhaps Dragon Ball characters are under consideration? (Great King Piccolo, Taopaipai, Android Eight?)
Or... worse of alll...
... GT Characters? (Omega Shenron, SSJ4 Gogeta... Eurgh, literally not as good as a fucking baby Pan?)
 
Well I think obviously movie and GT characters have highest chance, cause MARKETING.
 
I will eat Crow if Broly and Bardock aren't DLC.
There's 8 characters in that pass, so it's bound to be some shit

I'm still mad Mr. Satan isn't in the base roster
 
ARC has proved to be very faithful to signature moves and seems very onowledgable. I highly doubt they'll include GT shit since every DBZ fan I know hates GT. Marketing or not, Pan n shit are unlikely imo.

Shinobi are spies, they gather information, and depending who hired them they will take out targets if they are given plenty of time to blend in and have gathered information on the target's pattern. [this usually takes months, even longer if the target is high ranking]

I think Bardock could have awesome character interactions, but I dunno what they'd do for his moveset versus what they'd do for a Raditz moveset. I doubt they'd add both of them either, though you could have almost a whole Kakarot family for a team.

Now I'm tempted to see what kind of special dialogue we'd get from adding Bardock and Gine to the game.
 
Speaking of DLC, does it bother anyone that this game will run almost $100 to get everything? Does anyone know if they are unlockable in-game? Because right now, the game went from "must buy" to "probably wait for a sale".

Mortal Kombat, Injustice, Sf5 (and don't give me that "we can buy with fight money" crap: unless you log in every day, do every event and play a lot, you'll only unlock two characters before the revenue gets too short for anything worthwhile), Marvel Infinite, etc, etc, etc.
 
I can't speak to Injustice as I will never buy an NRS product again.

SFV was $80 (and I bitched about that then too). Marvel was also $5 cheaper (not that it is an excuse), and I personally wouldn't have bought it (I got it as a birthday gift from a friend). I believe this is the most expensive day one DLC I have seen in the genre.

Further, just because others have done it in the past doesn't make it correct then or correct now. I guess "congratulations for showing that NRS and Capcom are money grubbing companies alongside Arcsys who now leads that pack" is in order though it seems off topic.

In any case, the point was that the cost of this game turned it from something I was absolutely going to buy into something that I might pick up for $30 dollars (all content) in a Steam sale.

I actually think Injustice is at the forefront of it's industry... Well, right under Killer Instinct.

Injustice 2's Ultimate Edition is a better example than mons, they even give you a cool Steelbox for your troubles. (Plus, it gets discounted on Amazon Prime.)
The downside is the Ultimate Edition of DB FighterZ is Digital only, so you don't have a cool cover (or things) to show for it, and you also don't get a discount.
 
Been googling this and getting nowhere: does anybody know if they're using the Lab Zero driver for PS3 stick support on PS4?
 
erm... we don't know for sure [neither Arc nor Lab Zero has confirmed] , but since it's running off of an improved version of the Rev2 system we do know that it will have Legacy Support, because LabZero gave their driver to that game. So... odds are that it's a strong yes.
 
Seeing this game and looking at DBSuper now that I'm seeing characters from that series, I'm starting to make sense of all those complaints a friend was making about Super in general. But aside from that I'm also really digging Hit, Goku Black, and Zamasu. I've watched clips of their fights and I gotta hand it to Arc Sys for distilling those characters as well as they did. Not a fan of the tournament of Power, but I'm left wondering if/when Jiren will be announced.
 
The worst part of the ToP is that they decided to pull the old DBZ trope of "guy shows up that this dumbass our hero THIS DUMBASS can't even scratch, but that guy can't win or else it's over."

I would expect them soonest at the second version of FighterZ.

Pretty much I don't really expect a character to show up unless the story arc they're first introduced is 100% finished. So no Tournament of Power members.
 
I wonder if the servers for the Xbone version will work this time when the open beta releases.
 
When was open again? Also still irritated that I pre-ordered the physical version and I don't get early beta but the digital one does >.> It's what evs though.
