Fenster's training thread

Oof, haven't touched this in a while, pretty much because I stopped thinking/playing SG for a while. Lots of things happened, but I slowly went from not being able to do combos -> kind of sorta doing the normal gameplan during the course of the whole CB weekend so I'm a little okay when I think about that. I'm hoping that since life stuff is shifting for me, I should be set to go next year and not get involved in silly life drama at least, plus I have a little free time for the next month as well.

Overall, extremely disappointed in my performance, especially with Parasoul since I could feel my execution not catching up to my neutral even though I had the reads on my opponents ESPECIALLY in the mirrors, so I'm gonna try out Solo more often then I had been before so I can get back into the groove and start practicing old ideas for confirms I never got around too.

I want to start with getting down sHPx2 xx Napalm Quake/Pillar both for happy birthdays and for certain DHCs which require one or the other. It's extremely not hard but yet I'm the only one who hasn't committed it to memory yet. Tried it out in training mode the past 2 days and I think I can start getting this down, but need to iron this out more.

If there's anything else people think is lacking in my gameplay, with any of my characters, I'm all ears of course. Mike Z told me my Big Band Combos could stand to do more damage, so I'll try to look at what 159man was doing on midscreen hits since usually we did the same stuff but he would always get 1 more chain than I did. I'm also going to try different team configurations out and getting used to that since I don't feel like I should just stick to Point BB forever.

As for side teams, going to focus on Robo Fortune again and not mess with others for a while, not that I stopped playing it or that I want to stop with the others really, but because the team is still very variable when it should be solid by now. Against certain players I play just fine and can go even/beat anything like my normal trio, but then play against some other good player and I just get happy birthday'd into death. Need to iron this out.

I'll redo stuff in the OP sometime tomorrow probably to reflect better what I'm currently thinking about. I want to try and spend more time practicing in training mode like I used to when I started to learn how to do DPs when I picked up Eliza. If I could do that, I can probably stand to get better at any sort of combo if I keep at it.

Fair warning a lot of 159man's combos are hard as balls. I've tried them in training mode and I can't do that shit.

Are you sure you mean the midscreen stuff and not the corner stuff? I'm fine with how I am in the corner, I was just thinking midscreen stuff where I still have a lot of undizzy left over usually.

I dunno if he did it at Combo Breaker but I've seen him do two j.MKx2 j.HP fastfalls in his midscreen combo. He almost always does the OTGless midscreen though which is not that hard of a combo.
