This can be a thread to discuss the character who appears in the digital art book. Originally named George, although not necessarily/likely the case anymore. What do people think of his design? What role do you think he would have played in a future Skullgirls game?

Do you reckon the 'dragon' is a parasite, living weapon, or just plain old armor? I'm leaning towards a parasite, since it seems like the wing and tail emerge from his back or shoulder, although they could just be strapped on, hence the belts.

What could his new name be?

I've got some palettes I created for him, didnt know if i could put them in the fan palette thread since he's not a legit character. The first three are originals, the rest are references, including an obligatory Annie. I guess if people guess them then ill add the names in.

In all honesty he doesn't look like he would fit in skullgirls. I don't want to sound rude or anything (it is concept art after all) but he looks like some bad OC. Even the name screams OC. As for a name? Hmm I can't really think of any.

His design was pretty sweet. Also kudos on giving him palettes.

Those palettes are fantastic. Some I recognize some (the first two), the rest are guesses:

1. Ryuko from Kill la Kill
2. Squigly
3. ???
4. uh... Italian flag?
5. almost looks like Lion-O of the Thundercats with that orange and pale yellow skin

As for the Dragon Warrior Formally Known As George (DWFKAG) could stay with "George" since it has an allusion to Saint George and the Dragon. But to avoid confusion with waddling bombs, he could adopt a knightly name like Galahad, Gogandantess, Heward, or Reynauld.

I say he's wearing a Living Weapon rather than a parasite. The way he holds the sword tail, the amount of torso straps, and the lack of expression on the "head" lead me to conclude it is something worn, rather than merged to the host. If Vice-Versa can form some beefy arms that can punch rocks into diamonds, this dragon Living Weapon should be able to manage a flapping wing. And the coat tied around his waist indicate that his arms are sometimes normal, so the dragon parts gotta either transform (parasite) or be taken off (living weapon).

One of these is pretty close! ;)

And yeah I'm inclined to agree, even tho I think i prefer the idea of it being a parasite. When I was making the palettes noticed how his right arm was colored darker but took some liberties and simplified it since it was difficult to gauge what the shapes in that small area around his elbow are meant to be. But he could be wearing a pauldron and gauntlet on that arm that the tail and wing come out of, i guess. Perhaps thats meant to be a scabbard hanging by his side at his elbow. Although I like the idea of them simply emerging from his back, it seems more skullgirlsy.

That last palette is very clearly Crash Bandicoot skinned with Spyro armor

In other convo strings, i've since heard that this character might not even be canon anymore, similar to Spider-Legs. Maybe this George could be revisited for another of Alex's/L0's pursuits

Yeah i wouldn't be surprised, Panzerfaust was originally intended to be a Vulcan Heel character. He wasn't in the dlc character vote line-up, but he was in the digital art book, after Eliza, Beowulf and Robo-fortune had been confirmed as the last characters, so it still strikes me as odd that he was included if he was just an old old old concept. He appears on the same page as Eliza, maybe he was also going to be introduced in Skullgirls 2??

This guy definitely feels like an old, old piece of concept art. His clothing and RPG-protagonist hair suggest he comes from another age entirely, nowhere near the 1950's vibe that the game has now. Was Skullgirls ever intended to have a high fantasy setting? If he were ever meant to appear in the game as it were now, I'm sure it would be through time shenanigans. Maybe he was a famed Skullgirl-slayer in his day, too? Who knows. I really do like his design, though, even if I don't really think it works for Skullgirls. He looks like the protagonist of a Bayonetta-esque action game to me.

Personally, though, I never would have called him George. He looks more like a Frederick to me, or perhaps a Richard. I am super weird about names, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Do we recognize the symbol from his necklace? I thought it was a Trinitist's Cross, but I'm mistaken.

Oh, and the palette after Squigly is totally Chell with GLaDOS on his arm. (And if you made a colormap I might try making some palettes too...)

It looks more like a cross from the soldiers in the crusades to me.

ADDITIONAL THING: Also I can totally imagine the dragon arm shooting fire. That would be pretty kool.

Correct, and yeah I totally should have put one in the first post. Does it need to be a colourmap or can just upload the lineart?

I'd prefer a colormap, if only because I'm not very good at shading (I don't often do graphical work to begin with, and when I do, it's in a style that doesn't really use shading).

Right ok, exactly how do I make a colour map? Each section a different colour? With shading?

Yeah thats how it usually is. You should also make the colors stand out.

I'll just upload the lineart since I'm not sure exactly what to do. You might need to clean it up a bit idk.

From what I remember of George, he's from the Dragon Kingdom I think?
I am curious to see what the Dragon Kingdom in general is all about. Yu-Wan and Feng are from there so I'm guessing it's the Asia analog of SGverse, which is kind of at odds with George's not overly Asian design.

Perhaps his presumably 'Japanese RPG protag' inspired design (with the sleek, light hair and the unnecessary belts) is how he was tied to the Dragon kingdom. Was this info from an Alex stream/Lab0?

If Indivisible weren't described as being Asian inspired, I'd say he'd be perfect for that game. Either way, I want Alex and crew to use him in some project in the future. And get Bryce Papenbrook voice him. Papenbrook seems to be a magnet for RPG and sword wielder characters lately.

In the trailer we see a Scottish man wielding a katana and a shotgun-revolver cowboy. I think English knight is fair game for Indivisible.

If by Scottish man you mean the the guy in the bottom left of the ensemble shot in the trailer, we probably need more than, chequred hat to identify him as a Scot. Unless i've missed something.
Not that I'm at all opposed to UK/Celtic mythology or characters showing up in Indivisible :)

If I'm not wrong it looked like he was carrying samurai swords inside a bagpipe holster.
That's definitely something Alex Ahad would think up.

Look lower, the checkered pattern in also on his, what I'm guessing, kilt. I mean, going of his shaded nose, rounded jaw, the hat, and forearms. Also his backpack which is either a bagpipe turned sheath, or golf bag turned scabbard. I think him being a Scotsman is a pretty safe bet.
