Guilty Gear Thread

+R is the rebalance. They're not rerebalancing it.

I'm willing to put up money at this point that people who think this are misreading the press release. The "rebalance" is the one from 2012, they're not making a new Switch balance patch.

Is it possible that I'm wrong? Yes. But reading that release, it really looks to me like they're just advertising +R and the only real change listed is they're adding music.
 
I would think that if there were balance changes happening for the Switch version of +R, it wouldn't be called +R.

So Guilty Gear had a 20th Anniversary event which went over the history of Guilty Gear including the future. A translation of the article is up on Dustloop.

Some pretty interesting stuff.

Interesting. So apparently there IS a third Xrd game probably in the works.
 
Thought we dodged a bullet when Dizzy beat Bridgette in the polls but if a 3rd Xrd does happen he's definitely going to be in.
 
Anji and Testament are still on the fence of being submitted. Since Zappa's in the story, it'd be interesting now. Since he's less scared and works for the government, how will he control S-Ko?

Holy crap that spritework is terrible. I can't believe Guilty Gear ever looked that bad. We've come a long, long way to the high-quality sprites of XX (assuming that's the installment the newer sprites were introduced in) to the tear-inducing 2.5D gorgeousness that is Xrd. I also like how the hitsparks are mostly blood, no doubt an attempt to follow the lead the then-popular Mortal Kombat.

I think it still looks pretty good, tbh.
 
Any one with +R on the PC want to try Parsec with me tonight (later than 8pm MT)? I can't promise that it will work, but I think it might be worth a try.

I'm free for UNIEL too if you'd rather.

Those transitions made Fighterz look like ps2 game. Thats fucking awesome

The teeth remind me of Ram’s minions so I hope he has a connection to the sisters somehow.
 
I swear if auto combos get in this as a mandatory, untogglable system, I'm out of playing fighting games for good.
