Honestly as a May player I love her the way she is now and for my taste her redesign is perfectly fine. X3
 
May's overalls are a good improvement. Much more pirate-y.

The problem is the left out all the characters that are metal as fuck. If we get some kawaii moe desu character before any of them come back I'm going to be pissed.

As much as I would love that, to be fair that would change her hurtbox and that would piss lots of players off.

And bedman's hurtbox doesn't piss people off?

It's a new game on a new engine, they could've just standardized hurtboxes on hit.

I wouldnt really call it a "redesign" she looks the exact same.... except she has a beach ball move and can ride her dolphins now

My whole take on the new character is that she may not look like she belongs in GG, but the good thing about GG is almost anybody can fit in the GG universe one way or another. Also we can't really be so quick to judge her by just a couple of pictures for all we know her fighting style might be something everybody will like. This game has a Vampire, Playboy Sky Pirate, Time Traveler, Robots, etc, so I think she'll fit just fine into the game(I actually welcome new and different characters in GG). People have already said it in this thread and Dustloop that the reason for her look MIGHT be to attract the modern generation of players. I'm not upset about her design, but we should just wait to learn more about her.

P.S. Anybody asking for his/her character to return Daisuke has already said that eventually he wants ALL characters to return.
 
I'll warm up to her if she eats people lol. My problem is that she looks boring. There's nothing that stands out in her design. When you look at someone like A.B.A or Baiken you immediately see history in that character. Though, to be fair, not all characters in Guilty Gear pass that test.

May's Anchor.
Johnny's sword
Chipp's Outfit.

The only character that doesn't stand out to me is maybe Dizzy.

May's design is alright, but I'd like her more if she was a shit talking girl in her late teens/early twenties. If enough time has passed for Ky to grow long hair then enough time has passed for May to not act like she's five.
 
Sudden inherent personality changes don't usually happen faster then hair growth.

Knowing how the Japanese roll, I bet she has a heinously shrill voice. You know, the kind that makes Rie Kugimiya sound like freakin' Batman. Well, maybe she won't be more than a NPC.
I don't mind the absence of Baiken, Johnny, Testament and Dizzy but when they're shoved aside to make room for characters that would feel more at home in Blazblue, it just adds insult to the injury.
 
I like seeing GG fans reel in pain so this is good for me

They have yet to mess that up in Guilty Gear. No need for hope when there's certainty.
