This is a self-explanatory staple thread that SH had before so another one should be spawned because SH forum finally got resurrected again. Members old or new in SH can give their introduction here by telling a little about themselves. Without further ado I'll get the ball rolling.

I'm a pad player currently hailed from Norcal and I enjoy playing various competitive fighting games. From 2d games like Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, and Mortal Kombat to 3d fighters like Dead or Alive, Tekken, and Soul Calibur.

One of the more recent fighters I particularly enjoyed was Skullgirls because of the high quality aesthetic and sound gameplay that feels like the true spirited successor of MvC 2. Skullgirls ended up being one of my more actively played fighters and I currently run a Solo Ratio Filia. The rest of the cast doesn't click with me yet, but some of the possible future SG characters would interest me greatly.

I'm not too great of a SG fighting player [I have solid fundamentals and spacing, but there is a limit to that] because of other hobbies getting in the way like Swimming/Hiking/Biking/Reading/Writing and I juggle with too many other fighter games. That doesn't stop me from enjoying SG regardless if I win or lose. I've been a regular member on this site and often referred as a chill person so lets get along.

I'd consider myself an intermediate player. I use a fight stick and many player 2D fighters. SG is by far my favorite fighting game for its level of balance and fun. Other fighters I've enjoyed have been MvC 1 & 2, BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena and 3rd Strike.

For me, I enjoy fighting games because I like to analyze the system, something that crosses over from my day job. If you need some help or tips on the game in general or even some character specifics, just pm me.

Welp, name's Nick, though I go by Nap proceeded by four letters on most corners on the internet. When it comes to fighting games, well...let's just say I'm a perfectionist with an inferiority complex. Not a good combination. I get EXTREMELY salty very easily at my poor skills. I'm trying though. Skullgirls is easily my best arcade fighting game, though that's not saying much.

As far as other things go, I also happen to be a huge music nerd. I grew up playing violin and I'm actually looking to go to college for music composition, and my dream job is to be a video game composer. I might share a few of my things around here once I'm less self-conscious about it.

I'm a Canadian pad player and I'm a fan of 2D fighting games. I started of with Blazblue Continuum Shift II for the PSP and moved on to BCS:EX for the PS3 for practice against actual players. I got into Skullgirls when it first came out on the PS3 and after experiencing the tutorial and seeing how awesome the design of the game was, I wanted to learn more about it. I've also played Soul Caliber II/III, Street Fighter IV, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom (although I'm terrible at UMVC).

Hi all

I am a slightly-above-beginner player from Ontario, Canada. I mostly read the Skullgirls subreddit for any game-related information, but I guess I will start checking here frequently now that it's back up too. I first saw Skullgirls on the Steam front page and I bought the game for beta sort of on a whim and liked it way more than I thought.

Not really played any fighting games before except a bit of SFIV:AA (probably less than 20 hrs) and some SF2 on Super Nintendo. I have played a lot of Dota 2 and Starcraft, and a bit of CS:GO recently so I guess I am a fan of competitive games with high skill caps (which I think Skullgirls is.)

I only really play Filia and Peacock at the moment.

Hmm... Well, I'm trying to get better at using the same name on multiple places, so Sunny is what I'm trying to go by (except on tumblr where I shyly reblog people more interesting than me as neonectarine).

I'm a big Skullgirls fan though not particularly great at the game (I am sort of a ditz and do not have a great memory so long combo strings are really hard for me), I mostly play Filia, and I was backing Minette, Marie, and Eliza during the Votepocalypse (more or less in that order). 1/3 isn't too bad. ^^;

Though I'm still hoping for Minette some day since I thought a competent Phoenix Wright would be something really fun. I also did the thing on tumblr trying to sell people on all the other entrants. Not sure how well I did, but hopefully it turned some heads towards others' favorites.

Hi I'm a US player. I live in southern California but I go to college in northern California. Prior to this year my only real fighting game experience was in advanced Smash Bros. Melee so it's pretty different although some fundamental concepts are the same.

A lot of my friends are FGC members of Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 so I started getting into Street Fighter 4 (bought it on PC and got a fightstick with sanwa buttons too). Over the summer I found out that Skullgirls was going on PC and I remembered hearing about it a long time ago when it first came out on console. I wasn't really expecting to play it much since none of my friends really play it, but I wanted to try it out especially because it's made by independent game developers, not to mention that MikeZ is an FGC veteran so I was expecting top notch design and respect towards the players.

Wow was I blown away! First off the tutorial was a great introduction to fighting games in general. I definitely brought some of that stuff to Street Fighter 4. Not only that, but the game was much more accessible to me than Street Fighter, yet it didn't seem to be sacrificing much of the complexity it though. To top it off the unique art style and faster pace of the game was very appealing to me, and now I play it more than Street Fighter 4! As soon as I get back to school I'm going to try and get my friends to play because this game is awesome!!

Hey I'm Keith, I guess you could call me an intermediate player, a really low intermediate. I currently play on pad but I'm planning on switching to stick. My name was simply 'Keith' before SH went down but someone else got it before I did. It doesn't matter to me, this one is more consistent with my other accounts

I started playing fighting games with X-men Mutant Academy 1, 2, and some random Mortal Kombat game. From there I went to Soul Calibur 2, Melee, TTT (briefly, my sister broke it on accident), and most of the ps2 DBZ games (I don't really to do with any shonen anime/manga for a while though.) I played Marvel 1&2 but I'm not good at it, but I never tried to get good (the last time I played Marvel 2 I played Ruby Heart, lol.)

Currently playing Skullgirls, UMVC3, and Persona 4. SG was the first game to get me to wake up at 6 am to get as good as I can a week before my first EVO, just to lose 0-2. I'm get better for next time if I can get there.

Grimmhart. I started out on SG on the first day it was released for the PS3, but then that exploded and I've been waiting for the PC port for a long while. Not a competitive player by nature so I can't say I'll put the time needed to get super long combos but I like to bull around with the community a lot too. I like ale. Also olinguitos.

I play (and have played) no fighting games other than Skullgirls (Smash Bros. doesn't count), so I am waaaaaaaay outta my league here (read: am absolutely terrible). Hey, I'm Vitamin Dei, or Dei, or Deirdre. Deidei if I really, really like ya. Currently living in central Texas, but I was in SoCal before that... a few other places before that. I started fighting games with SF2 in the arcades and have casually enjoyed quite a few, with a preference for 2d fighters with interesting character designs (Arc System Works, SNK, etc.).

The PC release of Skullgirls brought me back to the genre after a pretty long time away, so I'm more or less starting from ground zero (and let's face it, I was never great to begin with). I'm enjoying the learning process, though I admit sometimes I feel like I've jumped into the deep end.

I see everyone is talking about their fighting game experience first so I'll start with that.
I was never into fighting games until last March when I watched Episode 7 of Fighterpedia. After that I decided to buy Skullgirls and I was immediately a fan of the game. That influenced me to buy Persona 4 Arena, which revealed to me that fighting games are a lot of fun. However, I am a total scrub at them.
Despite that I try to be very involved with the Skullgirls fandom. You can always catch me somewhere on the forums or on Lab Zero streams if I have the the time, which varies depending on the day.

OK so actual stuff about me comes second.
I am a junior in college and an 8 year wrestler. I don't really know what I want to do for a career. I know that I want to work hands-on with plants or animals. Maybe I'll become a Veterinarian.....Whatever.
My hobbies include anime, video games, fighting, and philosophy. I can go into more detail but I'll save that for the About Me section on my profile.

I'm a scrubbyass SG player (see my custom title) and I don't really intend to be competitive in this game. Still, I like to fool around with it with friends. I am more used to play MvC2, Melty Blood, 3rd Strike and (Hyper) SF2 though. Invincible tatsu ftw. Also, I like to say I'm the best Rumble Roses 1 player in the world, which doesn't say much, but still. :p

I got into Skullgirls when a friend of mine showed me a trailer and I fell in love with the art style, music and the characters. I bought it on PSN but I later got it on Steam too because I figured it'd be easier to get matches there. (And besides, the PS3 controller hurts my tiny hands.)

I play mainly on a keyboard and I am a very scrub/casual/bad beginner in fighting games. I used to play UMvC3, Soul Calibur and Smash Bros. but only very casually. I've also played Touhou 12.5 a lot (but still very scrub) on keyboard and that's why I'm so comfortable playing on a keyboard. I do want to level up on this game, but that might be hard to do since I'm also trying to play a bit more competitively in other games like Team Fortress 2. Can someone help a scrub like me? :D

Also, I play solo Double exclusively, even though I might want to throw Ms. Fortune into the mix eventually. (@.@ Double reminds me of She-Hulk from MvC3 for some reason; heavy character with some mobility and hard hitting offense.... Someone shoot me in the head for throwing bad references. Go ahead.)

I'm a Steam player (Steam name's the same). I've always had an interest in fighting games but watching EVO 2013 finally convinced me that I wanted to get serious about the community; so I bought a fightstick and picked up a few games to see what would strike my fancy - Skullgirls stood out leagues and measures from the rest as my personal favorite and now me and my group of friends are all training like mad to get good enough to attend EVO 2014. I'm a rushdown player with a bit of a natural talent for mix-ups though I'm not good at punishing.

I'll gladly - happily - accept challenges on my Steam account.

If you really desire to know more you can keep reading - I'm a college graduate who is out of work and trying to write a fantasy novel for young adults. I'm a hermit since all my friends from school and college moved away and pretty much spend all my life in my house playing games, watching Netflix, and writing. I'm 25 and still genuinely believe I'm going to make it, and won't stop believing that until I die with my unfinished manuscript in my cold hands...or, until, you know, it's actually published in which case I have made it. My interests include tragedy, redemption, and little girls controlling airships through hurricanes with the power of their mind, dodging in and out between floating sky-islands and giant cicadas the size of Buicks.

French player here, still learning stuff about the game so I probably won't be fighting anyone soon. I've started playing Skullgirls 2 weeks before the beta end if I remember correctly, so only on PC. I play with a Xbox360 controller that I use most of the time when playing PC games, but maybe I'll invest in an arcade stick one day! I haven't been playing a lot of fighting games before (bit of Tekken, SSF4:AE, SSBB) and when I did, it was always casually, so I'm no expert, really.

Outside of Skullgirls and fighting games, I'm -soon to be- a University Student (studying languages, especially English if possible), I like various TV shows (Doctor Who, Supernatural, Breaking Bad, ect), been reading manga/watching anime a bit more than usual lately (going through Super Dangan Ronpa 2 at the moment), and I also listen to a lot of music (including OSTs).

My fighting game career started with NES and some sort of a wrestling game. Can't remember the name. Probably could not even read at the time... After NES I was on hiatus for around twenty years, until I bought Soul Calibur IV and SF 4 Tournament Edition Fightstick for the X360. Sucked at it. Then moved on to PC and brought the fightstick with me. Now I'm into Skullgirls, Street Fighter IV, Mortal Kombat, and all sorts of older emulated fighting games...

And since my internet connection blows and I occasionally want to play with someone, I decided to build a new fightstick. Here it is:

Somehow I was not satisfied, so things escalated quickly into building an entire arcade cabinet (the blog is mostly in Finnish, so just look at the pretty pictures). The last few months have been very busy building, and not playing. But I hope that will change very soon.

Well I'm Ndayday (or Nday), first heard about SG sometime last year but got exposure to it around the time of pre-EVO. Logged in to Steam one day for unrelated reasons and saw SG was like 2 days from PC release and thought what the hell. I come from Smashboards where I'm/was decently active, was a mod for a bit and I generally consider that my main internet hangout even though I don't post nearly as much. I'm playing solo Peacock because she's awesome but I think I would like to try out teams when I get better.

I technically began playing Fighting Games when I was about... ehhhh... ten or so, back when the local arcade was still up. I say technically because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing (and it was Marvel vs Capcom 2... not the best game to get you educated in the genre). It was with the Xbox release of Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition (the Revengance) that I began to actually learn how to play Fighting Games. I can safely say that I have learned a great deal about Fighting Games, and how not to be terrible at them, from Third Strike.

Ironically, I am still awful at Third Strike to this day.

I first learned about Skullgirls last year, about a month or two before its console release, through some early gameplay videos on Eventhubs. Like almost everyone I know, Peacock pretty much sold the game for me. I purchased the game day one, and have remained a loyal fan(boy) ever since.

Valentine is my main, as I have never found a character in any Fighting Game to be quite as intuitive and fun to play as as her... and I'm actually good at playing as her. :p

I currently play Skullgirls (pretty darn good at it), SSF4:AE (kinda awful at it), Persona 4: Arena (slightly below mediocre), and soon enough, Divekick.

I'm new to Skullgirls. I used to play a lot of FPS games like Counter Strike,Battlefield,ARMA,etc... And even some other games like mmorpgs and stuff.
I met Skullgirls by a Zone's video about the project and the kickstarter,i really wanted to donate but my my credit card was stollen by that time of the year.
Soo after a long time,a friend of mine gave a copy of SG,i was really happy.

I've been playing for a while,and think is pretty fun to play versus other players,even tought i'm kinda bad.
