...Josh's struggle to not suck...

So after several sets I've realized that I'm just doing the same block strings and I'm getting counter hit by an assist. So I need to learn how to hit confirm off of two hits. I think I'm realizing that people can react to a block string by calling an assist and that is what seems to be getting me killed a lot. It's not neutral, it's not resets, and it's not my inability to react it's my stubbornness in just going for a 3 hit confirm.

This is definitely something that is important to be able to do vs good players. I don't think I see people calling assists while blocking that much at high level play as DP assists become less common, but high level players will DEFINITELY be able to reliably pbgc punish blockstrings that are too long. With double I had to put a decent amount of time into confirming off of just c.lk c.mk (or c.lk c.hp at longer ranges) since 2 hit confirming didn't really come naturally to me but it has more than paid off.

It's just something I've noticed I've been lacking as of lately and peanuts keeps telling me I suck at it so obviously it's something I need to work on. I just don't practice that enough I spend my time working on setplay and neutral which is why my defense and block strings usually suck. So I'm hoping that if I just work on these few things that I can improve more because I don't think I need any more combos or setups cause I have a million of them.

Alright so I tried h drill assist. I will say it's different and it makes a lot of matches much easier especially the big band matchup because I don't have to deal with armor now. It also makes a lot of my hard reads safe. AND I can now do instant over head barrel resets and make them safe which is just stupid BTW so gonna let drill rock for a while and see what comes of it

Alright new priority. Learn the rest of the cast. I figured out that when I play a character I don't have to learn how to beat the character people will just show me by playing me. So first character is big band because I lose to him way to much for ridiculous reasons.

So for now I think I'm going to try out double/fukua/Big Band just to figure out how I'm supposed to beat BE/ brass as an assist, how to bait him correctly, and identify his resets/baits so I can counter more accordingly.

Next I want to learn peacock because once again I can't easily identify a reset if I don't know how to do it myself. And I'm sick of not knowing more information on other characters.

I'm learning that the new mind set is to counter pick everyone so I'm going to try to stay up to speed with that.

As of now I understand how Fukua,Bella,Parasoul,Double,Squigly, and Val can reset me; I think once I learn the rest I should hopefully see a little improvement in my decisions and reads but who knows......

So after playing in WYL and watching the replays I'm pretty upset with my performance. I don't capatilize on double snaps and I'm still dropping combos randomly. I'm sure it's nerves but either way I can't afford to keep doing that.

Any ways so besides watching assists calls I am unsure what else I need to work on. I've been working quite a bit on defense and playing more diversely in my style (mixing zoning, turtling, rush down, and less calculated) to throw off my opponent which seems to be paying off but I'm not sure. I've been running simulations in training mode so I can practice against situations that I always end up in. I guess what I'm saying is I'm just unsure at this point and don't know where to go next. Any suggestions?

Been a while since I posted in here so I'll try to keep it brief. Been playing a lot of sets and learning how to properly read my opponent. I think I've gotten pretty good at that. Any ways here are some sets biggest thing for me is to stop calling assists so much.
