Metal Gear Solid/Rising - The best is going to end soon

Supposedly Phantom Pain will take until at least late 2015/early 2016 to be finished. Though any POW's you rescue will be around in phantom pain from what I heard. Base Building from Peace Walker is coming back as well, but you'll be able to actually experience Mother Base instead of just the top down view. So you can certainly wait and bundle them, but you're gonna be sitting on your hands for a real hot minute.

Also Jutsei, in relevance to that Kojima mission, after you rescue him, he's on your main menu screen until you play a new mission. When you go the mission select he will be behind it. If you take too long, he spins the mission list and it lands on one randomly. So you get a random select for one mission after rescuing him lol

It really will take that long!?
Wicked, that means I have more time to save up!

And that bit about Kojima makes it even better, I love it.
His Engrish is in perfect form too, it's as charming as ever.

Plus, apparently if you get an S Rank, he says "Snake...That was Perfectou!"

Jamais Vu extra op on GZ is pretty cool when you discover the additional objective. Dev team also takes stabs at the not so beloved entries in the series. Like Portable Ops, Metal Gear Arcade, and Metal Gear Acid

So hard mode is the real deal. Guards have double range on sightlines, and you only start with a tranq gun with half ammo capacity. A real pain in the ass on the assassination mission, because you have to procure your own lethal firearms, then locate the targets, try to kill them quietly, and at the same time so one of them doesnt escape after the other dies.

I just found this guy who does really good videos covering some of the metal gear games.

This one is my favourite.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance came in the mail for me three days ago, I just finished it an hour ago.

I want to be a Cyborg.

I would only be a cyborg if my limbs could be preserved so that I could put them back on anytime I want.

So you want the power, but with no sacrifice, weak.

I don't even care if I stay the same in terms of power, I want to become the future.

I don't care about the power. I just want to become a cyborg, but if it doesnt work out I want to at least get my fucking hand/leg/whatever back.

hell, Raiden did it in MGS4. got all his human bits reattached. you can even see the specific sections where they were removed from his body. even his jaw had a surgical scar.

Those weren't his original body parts, those were still cyborg parts. They were just custom made to look like him.

oh, I always thought they were his original parts. they never really said in game as far as I could remember.

well, my bad. I would still like to have my limbs preserved if I could. all kinds of things could happen: infection, irritation to the skin because of constant contact with metal, malfunctioning parts, etc etc. I'm just more cautious about body alterations, but I, like many others, would definitely be up for becoming a cyborg by choice, I would just want to be able to retract my decision should the situation call for it.

being strong enough to block a ship with your bare back is pretty cool though. break-dancing geckos on your legs also is cool too.

I don't think you understand how Cyborgs work in MGR, I recommend consulting Wilhelm "Doktor" Voigt via Codec.
That is assuming you actually own the game.

I actually have never had a chance to play Rising. all my cyborg Raiden knowledge comes from MGS4.

i just want robot legs so I can go around and kick things with my robot legs and no one would mess with me because they'd be afraid of my robot legs

he seems pretty okay with it.
Not only is he cool with it, as Kevin put it he totally digs his new body.

That gameplay presentation has me so damn excited. Oh man can't wait!

So much area to explore.
So many ways to play it.
This game looks like it'll keep me coming back and this is just knowing about campaign and the Outer Heaven mode.

Snake also has his own Black Power Fist from The Boondocks.

What presentation are you talking about if I may ask?

I see what you mean now, I would say I am hyped from this but I am already hyped from other trailer, this just makes me even more hyped.

Tonight's presentation went different. And they showed Snake gaining a new companion.

I would be interested to hear you guys' favourite boss fights (Main series, Revengeance just isn't fair).
I'm tempted to choose The Pain because Beenaids are actually the best thing ever, but it's going to have to go to
Ocelot from 4. Like, my god, the stops weren't just pulled out, they were absolutely obliterated.
When Snake started doing the MGS1 punch combo my heart exploded, then when I was fighting against Liquid Ocelot and he started doing MGS 2 shit it reformed and blew up again, and then when he did the hand thing in the beginning of the MGS 3 bit, I was just dead, and then when the music got all sad and shit and they started dying of old age, my dead body wept a single tear. Like seriously Ocelot, your bullshit ghost-arm but actually robo-arm but maybe ghost-arm thing makes no sense, but it makes for a hell of a boss fight.
Like, I don't know how they managed to top dueling Metal Gears, but by God they did it.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Final Boss Fight, Old Snake vs. Liquid Ocelot.
Probably one of the best final boss fights of all time, I fucking cried.

Real talk, I was in full baby tear mode at the beginning of that fight, then the adrenaline started to kick in while I remembered MGS 1, then when the MGS 4 bit happened it all just faded away and I was tearing up again. Something about old dudes trying and failing to fight, especially when one of them is the most bad-ass characters in video games just gets to me, man.

I kinda want to say the Fury is my favorite boss fight. fire has always been an element I've preferred, and the fact that the Fury is a flamethrower-man on steroids makes me happy.

also the fact that he just comes out with NO WARNING WHATSOEVER! helps in his appeal to me.

I never played MGS3 so I didn't get the full force feels that other people got, but when the main theme started playing and Snake and Liquid were struggling just to stand up, but still trying desperately to kill each other, there are just no words. I don't think any other game has achieved a moment like that.

For real though, how dissapointing was the fight against Sundowner in MGR? His name is Sundowner, the music that is playing is called Red Sun, why is it raining? Everything should be on fire actually. His death was pretty pathetic as well.
I expected a lot more out of that fight, especially considering how amazing Monsoon was.

The shield thing was cool though.

yeah the rain is the only thing that makes it a downer.
:PUN:

My favorite boss in Metal Gear Rising would be a tie between Jetstream Sam and the Modded Metal Gear Ray.

Sam was super fun to fight, you can never go wrong with a classic samurai sword duel. Plus there were a lot of hidden surprises that a lot of people miss. For example, after disarming Sam it becomes impossible to use the sliding or jumping kicks on him because he automatically tosses you aside with Jiu-Jitsu, something that's brought up during prior conversations with Kevin. That attention to detail is what I love about Metal Gear.

The very first boss fight though, nothing beats that Rules of Nature moment.

His death was pretty pathetic as well.

I agree with you that the boss fight was a bit of a letdowner, but what?
The pathetic death where he throws you off a building, you land on a robot bird, hack the robot bird with your sword, fly the robot bird up the interior of a skyscraper, cut through the ceiling, throw a missile back at his helicopter, and slice him up as he is flying through the air? That death?

What I mean is while the actual gameplay was epic, Sundowner's actual death scene makes him look like a weakling. He get's blown out of a helicopter and gets helplessly tossed towards Raiden, all the while screaming Christ.
That ain't a good look, Sundowner went out like a bitch nigga.

I find it hard to think of Sundowner as pathetic after he flung around that giant pipe like that. More of a matter of he got outplayed + got what was coming to him. Monsoon and Mistral didn't have much more graceful deaths either.

What?

Erm, at one point in the boss fight rips he off a cylindrical structure from the building and swings it around at you. It's at least ten times taller then both of you.

What the fuck, that never happened to me?
