Revolution 2015 was pretty great. A whole bunch of players from all around Europe (and a few from Canada and Japan) came to London and played a load of anime games, and everyone was happy. It's coming back again this November and Skullgirls is a main game! It's got all the things you need:
  • Main stage top 8, streamed on the main stream!
  • 3 out of 5 for the entire tournament!
  • Dedicated setups so you can play casuals all weekend, including Sunday!
  • Central London is a 5 minute tube journey away (and a 10 minute walk to the tube stop), if you want to take a break from playing casuals to go do touristy things!

This is the first large EU tournament to ever feature Skullgirls as a main game, so I'm really looking forward to seeing a bunch of people from all around Europe! There are plenty of London and Limoges local events, but it's awesome to finally have an offline tournament that can bring the EU scene together. We've spent the past couple of years stuck in a position where no one runs Skullgirls as a main game in Europe because there's no proof that Skullgirls gets good entry numbers as a main game in Europe (because no one runs it...), so let's show the tournament organisers that they made the right decision by taking a risk and putting Skullgirls on the main lineup c:

Games:
Each tournament has top 8 and pools on the same day, because a decent number of players for other games can only get 1 day off work. That said, as I mentioned above, there will be casual setups for Skullgirls and all other tournament games for the entire weekend, including Sunday.

Friday November 18th:
Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax (PS3)
Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!! (PS3)
Under Night In-Birth: Exe Late (PS3)

Saturday November 19th:
Skullgirls 2nd Encore (PS4)
Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator (PS4)
Nitro+ Blasterz (PS4)

Sunday November 20th:
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (PS4)
King of Fighters XIV (PS4)
BlazBlue: Central Fiction (PS4)

Date:
18th-20th November 2016

Venue:
Bolney Meadow Community Centre
31 Bolney Street
London, England
SW8 1EZ

Price:
£20 venue fee (£7.50 single day venue fee)
£5 tournament entry
(Sign up at http://ngi-revolution.co.uk/event-information/)

Prizes:
60/30/10% pot split for 1st/2nd/3rd place

Accommodation:

Travelodge Vauxhall is the closest hotel to the event; it's a 10 minute walk from the venue. To quote Frost, one of the tournament organisers: "I would book ASAP because it always sells out 2 months before"

Travel Joy Hostels is another popular place to stay for the event. It was highly recommended for Revo 2014 and 2015, and there's no reason not to stay there again this year. It's fairly close to the venue (10 minute walk, 1 minute tube, 10 minute walk), it's fairly cheap (especially for central London), and you won't have to share a room with randos if you can find 4-8 people to book an entire room. To quote Frost again: "i would seriously just get 8 mandem and chill in traveljoy, thats what the germans and finns do and they just meet up and drink. its on top of a bar"

How many entrants do you think Skullgirls would get, ballpark? I've been looking for an excuse to go to a tournament in the UK for a while.
My back of a napkin estimate was about 30 EU entrants for Skullgirls; 15 from the UK, 5-10 from France, and 5-10 from the rest of Europe. It would be amazing if you (or any other international players) could make it over too!

I find these numbers acceptable. I'll try to figure out how practical this is. Since it's so far out I should be able to find a way to make it work.

I would like to go, but i need more details to know if i can. ^^

I might go too, it really depends on my job and school. Are there any female players I can share a room with? ;___;

Oops, forget to post here.
I'll try to be there. I can't even train properly and I'm still shit, so, no promesses.

Can someone please try to source me a copy of the logo to use in the forum index icon?

@Mr Peck I know it's a ways out, but do you have any idea when a schedule might be posted? I'm trying to plan some stuff to do in London on the days the tournament isn't happening and it would be easier if I knew which day or days the Skullgirls tournament will be.

I asked the person organizing the event for the logo,

They currently don't have the official logo, but they did say we can use this logo for the placement for now.

Ok, I'll be putting this on the front page soon. Would "Main Stage" be the most appropriate text?

Do they have a twitter or any other social outlets? Would like to keep up to date.

Looking into this at the moment, I've always wanted to go to England! PTO situation at my current job is stupid good so it is possible.

I probably need to go get a passport...

I'd do that asap, it takes them a month or something to process your passport request so it's not something you want to put off until the last minute.

If you didn't see the schedule in the update, SG pools and top 8 are all on Saturday.

Oh hey, this is a thing. Cool.

Yeah, I'll definitely need to consider it. I've travelled to London a few times before in my life. Also, this would be the first offline event I'm attending but I'll see if I can manage (and I do hope so).

I don't quite have all the details worked out yet, but given the 150 person cap due to the venue size, I just went ahead and registered.
