Also has English voices it turns out. If the full game releases like this guess I'm just importing.
Notes.
Gameplay feels a decent amount like Revengeance. You have a perfect dodge > counter instead of a parry. Shades of Bayonetta and Nier as well.
Soundtrack is great.
You can pet your little robot. It also functions as a flashlight.
You have a double jump and very short (and very cute) glide.
Weapons have stories associated with them.
Weapons groups (in the demo) are Short Swords, Long Swords, Spears and Bracers. Bare fists are an option, do like no damage.
You can change between your weapon sets mid combo.
If you knock enemies down you can do a finisher, or launcher, hard to tell since it killed the enemies I did it on (grunts).
Your OS counts as an equipment slot, so you can remove it to kill yourself.
Everything outside of the combat feels very ARPG, where in combat feels like Platinum fare.
You can shoot the birds in the distance.
There are sidescrolling sections, top down sections (during which launchers activate, but don't launch, so you end up in the air comboing nothing) and uh, another kind of section I don't want to spoil.
That fucking boss fight though. That ending though.
If you wanted to live in a world where Nier had good gameplay, you're in it. Let's hope Taro delivers on his end.
