wonder guard passimian isn't really that great
almost anyone is gonna have something psychic or flying or fairy these days
 
Night Form Lycanroc really feels like it got the shit end of the stick. Not even a Dark or Fighting Duel typing :P or a cool exclusive move. Counter ain't special

But it does have the whole edgy fursona thing going for it, so it will always be a fan favorite and have truckloads of porn, probably involving lucarios.

Eh the only good thing that can save Lycanrock's Midnight form is a decent hidden ability, and/or decent stats. So little to no hope.

Although I'm now definitely going to stick him on one of my gimmick teams that it and barra-cat inspired me to do.

Barra-cat: Zavoc
Midnight Lycanrock: Zazz
Pulverizing Pancake Snorlax: Zomom
. . . that's all I have thus far though.

Shame that Eevee's Z-move is kinda useless outside LC matches and story, as it'll get one shot by anything else. It looks awesome, it as an awesome effect, but ultimately tied down to pokemon that can't stand on it's own four feet.

After calculations Eevee Z-move into Last resort along with its ability Adaptability straight up OHKO's M Khan (Though thats if there are no HP or Def investment). So i don't think LC will be allowing Z-moves anytime soon.

To be exact a Eevee with Z-Move into Last Resort and Adaptibility does a roll of 68.1-80.1% Damage to a MAX Def and HP EV'ed Mega Kanguskhan
 
Im thinking here:

We can get some Z-move evolutions like a Mega Evolution... will be almost the same thing.

After see the Eevee exclusive Z-move, the "Ash" Greninja can get the same way: a Hight Priority exclusive Z-move who changes Greninja to Ash-Greninja, only need to equip the Ash-Greninja Z stone.

See... is exaclty the same thing...

Can be the solution to the Megas in Alola... Mega Stones is only another "Z-stone" specific to a pokemon and then used, the pokemon became his Mega Form. So, the Z-ring can do the same thing then the Mega-ring.


Another idea is about the Rockruff evos:


If the Rockruff evo is because the power of the box legendary....

Maybe we can get any evolution if we team the Rockruff with the box legendary, like Mantike/remoraid and Panchan/Any dark evolutions.

(but you only can get the exclusive evolution after get the other box legendary by trade...)
 
I'm more interested in Midday Lycanroc because it's adorable. But Midnight Lycanroc will be great for a Halloween-themed team, an idea that's been brewing in my head since Generation III. The reveals of Passimian and Oranguru have also opened up greater diversity to a primate-themed team.

From Generation IV up to now, I've simply been choosing neglected Pokémon to bring online. (I'm one of the few who brings a Vivillon into Ranked, for instance.) But I think I can take it a step further and theme my teams now.

Too bad there still isn't much type diversity in feline Pokémon, at least compared to canine Pokémon.

The real usefulness of Wonder Guard comes in when it's late into a match and the opponent's Pokémon capable of hitting a Wonder Guard user are mostly or completely fainted.

Midnight Lycanroc could still get good stats. There was nothing too gimmicky about Lucario either, maybe besides its Fighting/Steel type, and yet it became really popular. Greninja was also popular before it got Protean.

As for Eevee's Z-Move, I can see it causing problems for opponents slower than Eevee. You are meant to use it right at the beginning, after all. It can also function well with Baton Pass, or if you'd rather keep Eevee in, Adaptability. I think the real reaosn behind Extreme Evoboost, though, is to make Eevee a serious choice in Eeveelution teams.

Well from a lot of first impressions i'm getting around the 'net, it seems to be getting the butt end a joke. Though that could change. Personally I do like it, but I also don't think it's going to get all to great of stats maybe middling stats all round with more of a focus on Def. and Health but that's it. I'm hoping for the best for it, but not getting my expectations up.

I don't doubt that, heck I fully anticipate it. Just I'm an asshole for set up teams at times, just because I do like using moves like Knock Off, Psyche Up, and even Punishment and Switchroo from time to time. I even have team just solely for countering them, though it could use more type differentiation.
 
Is Midnight Lycanroc not very popular, design-wise either? I think it's one of the standouts of Generation VII, and that's in the midst of a huge amount of really nice-looking Pokémon designs. That being said, it does look a bit too similar to Zoroark.

In any case, only the people at Game Freak know the stats for these Pokémon. I think there will still be plenty of surprises. Lycanroc is simply a Pokémon with a gimmick that's been done before in a generation full of gimmicky Pokémon. Bear in mind that when you see a high-potential gimmick, the Pokémon tends to be weak. I am certain the likes of Mimikyu and Comfee will have pretty low stats, for instance, like with Smeargle, Klefki, or Wobbuffet.

By the way, I pick Pokémon for my teams mostly through artistic preference, so I'll probably put Lycanroc (both formes) into a team eventually. The only rule I have in picking Pokémon is that any Pokémon in the Ubers tier on Smogon are also off limits forme. But I'm a contrarian, so the more people dislike or ignore a Pokémon, the more I want to use one. That's why my teams have had Pokémon like Masquerain, Grumpig, Slurpuff, and Gigalith. (Not all on the same team though!)
 
Midnight Lycanroc is mostly not as popular, but also as popular as it is because of edge-shaming and fur-shaming. Midday Lycanroc however is fairly generic and hasn't been getting that kind of attention, well not as much anyway. Though it's being considered the better of the two just because of it's Accelerock move being the end all to the Fire/Flying/Bug master races. That and Sand Rush is infinitely more useful than Vital Spirit and that Midday is being presented more as a sweeper and Midnight as who knows what.
 
Edge-shaming and fur-shaming? Do you mean how it looks sort of goth-like and an anthro at the same time? The latter will always go hand-in-hand with werewolves though.

At least based on its appearances, I'm picturing Midnight Lycanroc to be an incredibly fast but frail sweeper, though whether it's physical or special can go either way. Like, as in Weavile-like or Alakazam-like stats.

Im thinking the opposite with Day Form Lycanroc being the Fast one and Night Form being strong and tanky with it showcasing its Counter Attack. It would be weird if they made a deal about Night Form getting Counter if it couldn't take a hit.

Yeah, I think they do require a hold item, much like Mega Evolution stones.

Yes. Some codes are generic to everyone can use. This is one of then.

If you has more then a XYORAS Game, you can get in all of then too.

(But not with the game you get the Darkrai in this year by code).
 
Yeah I have been completely forgetting that I could have been getting 2 of each Wifi Event mon these past months since I have X/Y/OR/AS :P May have upped my chances for getting at least a better nature Manaphy instead of adament.

No, that's called resetting instead of saving when you get the Pokémon from the NPC in the Pokémon Center. It does not autosave so you can reset as much as you want to get the right nature.

Yeah but can't you also get 1 Event mon Per Game as well?
 
Yes you can, but I have seen some players soft reset until they got the nature they wanted on all versions.
