dont let ddb and dukemagus know you said that or they'll cry.
I'll admit 3 and 4 are better than 2 and 1. at least in terms of gameplay. I prefer the more simple turn based mechanics over the weird positions and the ability to make personas no one in my part can use.Fixed by Old Man Daidara.
Really though, the least everyone can do is be aware of the first two. You don't see the Final Fantasy fanbase running around going "who's Firion?" while praising FF7 and 10 for their fantasticness.
Then again, the Theatrhythm and Dissidia lines of games included all the Final Fantasy characters and summaries about them so people COULD be aware but that's beside the point
yes. its also the main reason I prefer 4 over 3. that and I like how the story in P4 was more about growing up and less about death and the acceptance of it that 3 had.
They have brought some of the characters from 2 and 1 in terms of cameos. And I too agree that the mechanics in 1 and 2 did not age well. and I actually prefer the persona series to take place at that age of adolescence where you're deciding what to do with your future. Persona 4 helped put me on the right track to deciding I wanted to become a fantasy writerIf I have any complaint though, it's that I wish they'd bring back some older Persona users too. It feels like P3/P4 are too married to "only high schoolers can save the world". If they need to keep the school setting to make their Social Link/stat growth systems work (they don't, but if they feel they need to), it wouldn't be too hard to work in party member teachers or just slightly older playables. Not everyone has to be in your homeroom class.
I played 1 and hated it. If they want my recommendation I'll tell them to skip 1 cuz I didn't like it. you dont like me doing that? well, tough.
yeah, but I have so many problems with the first one. I hate having that stupid placement system because sometimes theres enemies where no one can reach. I hate how you have to buy so many different accessories because you have a weapon, and a gun, and ammunition for your weapon. I hate how you can make personas that for some reason everybody isn't strong enough to use. and I hated the talking mechanic. I despised it.
Pretty much this.
and even a lot of SMT games branch out how to get demons in other ways, some of them being really fun. like the demon auctions in devil survivor. I LOOOOOOOVE the auctions in devil survivor.
The game's way of saying that as far as it's concerned, you are less than a dog. Literally.
Nice! Always liked that one...still, a remix wouldn't hurt.
dude, just stop. But you're totally okay with your whole team dying because you don't have that one elemental spell?
Grid placement is uncool even though you can have 3 different personas and have actual control over how those characters grow unlike 3 and 4?
"You can't use in battle"? How do you think you get your persona spell fusion cards, it's JUST AS MANDATORY as Shuffle time, Shufle isn't a fun little mini game, it's how you get your persona in 3/4.
I find getting the right character and approaching every persona a different way more rewarding than watching the game equivalent of a hustle game you saw near the side alley of CTF.
yeah. and I found it more fun than the trial and error mechanics of the negotiations.
