Shin Megami Tensei and Persona

Pretty sure the marketing is really only kicking off now. Before they didn't want it getting in the way of their Persona 4 milking.

I can't wait for Persona 5 to be a smash hit and get us Persona 5 Arena,Persona 5 dancing all night,a port to a next generation portable, and two anime series.

They already announced the anime.

yeah
one anime
we still need the other anime, the fighting game, the anime of the fighting game, the stage play, the stage play of the fighting game, the musical, the live action pornographic parody, the dancing game, the dress up game, the mobile game, and the board game

You forgot the racing game, the puzzle game, and the crossover with another franchise game.

I'm just saying we've already started down the path before the game is even out.

I thought that was just a one episode OVA type special.

the live action pornographic parody,
this is not mutually exclusive to a series' popularity.

Yeah it's like a prequel thing isn't it? Like what FFXV is doing.
If that's true they are already making a mistake (or at least something I consider to be poor practice) by splitting the narrative across different mediums.

you mean to tell me that the excellently marketed Persona 5 has made a misstep?
no

Man,I read those youtube comments on the newest trailer
How can those children be so patient and hopeful? How do they not sleep at night, and wake up forgetting literally everything like I do?
At least I managed to remember Frenchie thief girl exists today, but tomorrow?
There are no guarantees

I can be pessimistic and cool too. H-here I go...

This game... is gonna stink!

did i do it right

You did your best
Just like those PR guys at Atlus
I think the games gonna be great, but it's pretty set in my mind that it's advertising has been anything but.I seriously went entire months without thinking of Persona 5.

Do they even need to market? I mean after all those spin-offs I don't think anyone HASN'T heard of persona.
And such great characters too. I'm pretty Sho he sold a million pre-orders on puns alone.

Who likes Famitsu translations? Take the first names with a grain of salt because Japanese is a confusing language sometimes.
Here's a slightly cleaner verson from personacentral
So Sakura Futaba's (hacker girl) persona is called Necronomicon. That's interesting because it's the first persona I can remember that isn't named after a mythological person and instead an object. It's also weird that they didn't name it after the fictional author of said book Abdul Alhazred.

Either way thanks atlus for getting my hopes up that Nyarlothotep is going to be in this game.

Edit: Also a persona bike. They are definitely trying new things this game.

hopes are meant to be profited upon and then dashed upon the rocks like an unwanted child

i still don't know why they made the necronomicon a ufo

Nijima's ultimate persona better be Hell Biker.

I mean we got demons back. I'm hoping for some meatier callbacks to persona 1 and 2. I'm probably not going to get it all things considered but ima be hopeful till the end.

It bears repeating but Hipster Hacker is really poorly designed.

Other than that I got some background for Milady. The name refers to Milady de winter of Three Musketeer's fame, french spy who operates under many aliases. She's an agent of the church it seems who is at odds with the Muketeers, but in particular D'artagnan. Even going so far as to murder his lover.

Interesting possibilities with that Persona since it implies she'll betray them at some point over love or profit.

I can't wait for Atlus to start making more spinoff series now that they'll have a full demonic compendium of updated models on their hand. Spiritual successor to DDS here we come.

I still need to finish Devil Survivor Overclocked. That game surprisingly gets more and more frustrating as you get closer to the end lol

Oh Definitely. The second game has this problem in spades as well. Once you hit the end its not that bad, but they love throwing hte annoying enemies at you. Ironically the post game sections added in Overclocked feel far easier than the end game levels cause its just a bunch of high level demons from earlier in the game that aren't nearly as frustrating paired together.
