Skullbats EU PC

As all three gathered 39 points this season, there was a 3-way tie in season standing for ranks 2-3-4 between Kuroonehalf, SillyOldDragon and zeknife.
A tie that needed to be resolved so I could seed all players by rank for the double-elim bracket.

Decided to compare the average performance of these 3 players during the tournaments they participated in this season by looking at their points, wins and tie-breakers.
Comparison by average points-per-tourney resulted in another tie (amazing), but for both average wins-per-tourney and average tie-breaker, the order from highest to lowest was zeknife-SOD-Kuro, which is how I'm solving this tie.

Congratulations to @SillyOldDragon for taking over the title of Skullbats EU Champion from last season's champion @Meiynas and good games to all participating players!

While there were no HD recordings this time, I'll makes sure to provide timestamps in the stream archive to all sets, just give me a day or so.
Shoutouts to @Mr Peck for providing some nice soloPeacock footage in a showcase FT5 set after the grand finals, and to @SillyOldDragon for skillfully defending against it.
Thanks to @Yallus for providing the prize to the 1st place winner, and last but not least, thanks to everyone who dropped in to watch! Hope you had a fun evening.

On that note, it turned out @SillyOldDragon already owned the game that was the reward for 1st place. Just our luck!
He was given the option to gift it to a friend of course, but generously decided to re-donate it for a future Skullbats prize instead (while keeping the title itself a secret, wooOOoo).
So, you can expect it to be among the prize pool next season!

I did a little simulation comparing Season 6 to previous ones.
Specifically, I compared the season standing we had in S6 with a what-if scenario where the old "points=wins" was used instead, curious who'd we get in top8 then.

Turns out... we would have the exact same selection of players. The order would be different, but the same players would end up in season finals.

In my opinion, I guess this would be quite irrelevant, which one we would use. Other than for those who crave for getting into the Top 3 or something.

WHAT:
The season finale will be a streamed double-elimination tournament, seeded by rank in the season standing.
All matches will be FT2 (=best of 3), except for winners finals, losers finals and grand finals which will be FT3 (=best of 5).

TIME:
This Sunday (02-08-2015), starting at 7:00pm BST/8.00pm CEST/9.00pm EEST (=standard Skullbats starting time).
All matches will be on stream (in both winners and losers brackets), and so judging by previous finals we can expect the event to take about 2,5h.

STREAM:
The top8 finals will be streamed live at www.twitch.tv/stopmurotime, in 360p60fps quality, with commentary from @RexLeRouge and @Muro.

PRIZES:

How long will the whole event take?
How big will the pauses/delays between rounds be?
Will there be enough 3-2s to justify this format?
