Dat Japanese Arcade Market, man. That's why Skull Girls need to get in on that stuff.
Not really feasible, mostly due to NESiCA.
NESiCA is a service, not a cabinet. While there is a dedicated Vewlix NESiCA cab, you can get it on almost any Taito cabinet that allows for a network connection (all Vewlixes, etc.).There's no such thing as a private SG cabinet. SG runs on Nesica, which is a sort of new form of arcade cab.
You buy a generic Nesica cab and it connects online to the Nesica game marketplace. Arcade operators can then buy any games they want for the cab. Users cycle through all the games that have been bought for the cab and choose the one they want to play.
Nesica's are hugely expensive, have monthly rental charges on them and can only be operated in Japan.
Loctests are also a marketing thing. Drums up some great word of mouth interest when people see special machines you need to line up for.
Now I kinda want a "HERE COMES DAREDEVIL" thing every time the game goes from an online lobby to character select
Why...Just saw an Elky tweet indicating that its 200 yen a game

That ain't it.
Granted I haven't been to many arcades, the one that I went to (that is now dead because no one wanted to play AE2012 when USF4 was out because of some Capcom shenanigans) had a dollar for most of the games however Initial D was $2... per race.
Pretty damn sure it's $1/100 yen/whatever in most places.
Isn't the price determined by the arcade operator?
Yup, but I've never seen a fighting game at 200yen before, and I've been to a bunch of Hey!'s loctests.
well, if its a close match, then maybe you could get 3 games for the price of 2?
It's 100 yen for this one. I guess it's different for each arcade center(?)
