Audio Skullgirls Official OST

yo, did the ost ever update with the actual names of the songs for under the bridge and glass canopy? I know that humble bundle ost updated when the rooftops and casino level were added.

Under the Bridge = Unfinished Business
Glass Canopy = Royal Canopy Waltz

They haven't been added to the humble bundle OST yet.

I don't think any of the IGG material has been updated yet. They'll probably update the OST soon, but I'm willing to bet the Compendium won't be touched again until they're close to done with everything. They probably want to update as few times as possible, so they can keep track of the changes easier.

But yeah, about the new music, I'm also finding myself getting really attached to the Nightmare Crest theme. The moody hum of that horn just seems to tell the story of the whole cast, like it's reflecting on all of their internal struggles. In an eerie way, I find that it sorta puts me in the shoes of whichever character I'm playing as.

On that note, I love how wonderfully Yamane and Diamante are continuing to build these themes into what feels like a complete narrative. I can only imagine how awesome the "finished" OST is going to be when it all comes together.

I wanted Nightmare Crest's theme to be more like Rooftop Assault's, less melancholic and more scary. Those spectre-like NPCs really set in the horror mood and that would go pretty well with it.

It's a really good musical piece by itself though, a good addition to the game's soundtrack, and since it's a remix of Maplecrest's theme, I guess it fits more here than it would anywhere else.

But that trumpet solo is undeniably sexy.

Is Nightmare Crest's current theme a midi or is it real instruments? I can't help but get a "Under the Bridge wip"-like vibe when listening to it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the melancholy tone is actually what makes it scarier for me. The visuals and the music give off a terribly hopeless feeling, as if you're seeing the world after it's already ended. If I imagine that setting as a place where I once lived, like characters in the game could, then I think it's pretty frightening.

But that's also why I find the stage interesting. It's like the characters could have all shared that same nightmare before, and so the stage becomes like a collective representation of their feelings of loss or failure. Yeah, maybe that's a far-reaching concept, but I'm not sure I would have had the thought if the music had been handled differently.

Since I just got the game recently, I'm not familiar w/what stages are new for Encore. As a result, I noticed some tracks, such as Where Money Flows Like Water (my fav), couldn't be found.

Learning One's Craft is one I should buy, though. Fits well with the action. Some slow/odd tracks don't fit as well to the action to me, but I respect the developers' decisions. Similar to MvC2's jazz. Some tracks were standouts to me: Factory, River & Airship, while Desert & Carnival were not favs for me.

Merged a thread into this location.

That track is from the newer stages that got released after the original OST was sold at Itunes/Amazon. When all the new stages with the accompanied themes are released for SG Encore I believe L0 will release a 2nd soundtrack for sale with all the new music tracks. We still have at least three more tracks in the horizon.

Where the song from Fukua's trailer?
1:04
Since it was never used in game it will not be in the ost

Is anyone else a little dissapointed that "In Just A Moment's Time," was replaced with another song in Glass Canopy after the update? :c

Not really it was more suited for the credits.

Then again, if you're that bothered, there's always the "ifearchange" code.

We should compile a SGE OST tier list. :)
I bought Learning One's Craft, and these tracks are my favorites now:

Seat of Power (just incredible- bravo! Should buy it soon to show support)
Moonlit Melee (one of the best action-piano tracks I've heard)
Where Money Flows Like Water
Unfinished Business
Cool Breeze (not for fighting in-game, but just a pleasant tune for while working)

Yay I now have Halloween music

Wow, that sounds nice i wish it could be put some where in the game

Why is this not in a stage ;__;

edit: it kinda needs work because most of the song seems to be the same loop for a while but it's still nice

Err... while looking through Mr. McGurty's soundcloud, I found an entirely unused track he and Brenton composed for Skullgirls with a disco motif.

Disco is making a comeback baby!

I'll go ahead and consider it Ottomo's theme.

That's totally Squigly's theme. She's got the Inferno, she's Stayin' Alive, and she has Groove Lines all over her.

Not to mention she's very funky!

Does any of you know who composed Chamber Below (Gehnna stage) and the title of the song that plays on the NMO Arena (unless that is it's name, natch). I have been trying to keep a list of everything here.

Am I right to presume the [cutscene] versions of songs are done by the same composers as the original? Also what is this 'Unlimited Hat Works' I heard someone talk about; I heard someone mention here but maybe I am just being thick.

EDIT: Just made this using the Art Gallery Music Selection:

Chamber Below was composed by Yamane. NMO Arena's music doesn't have an official name yet.

skullgirls official official soundtrack

only the most official of official soundtracks allowed here.
OST stands for Original Soundtrack.
Still slightly redundant, though.

Does anyone happen to have the version of the NMO Arena we had just before the switched to the finalized version? I can't find it anywhere and I miss the sweet guitar solo near the loop. ;_;

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it.

It's a new track by Michiru Yamane, not yet in the beta.
Thanks, I posted about the new Meridian Area Rapid Transit music before I looked in the news thread about it like a noob, lol. It's great to see what Yamane has been up to while Brenton and Blaine where doing the NMO music!
