Wow! Kano looks cool. I like how they have tuned up his cybernetic parts and even gave him a chest implant that looks like Hsu Hao's. The stage is really beautiful too, I like the water on the ground that reacts to the fighters.

Really impressed with MKX so far, I hope we see more new stuff during Gamescom.

On Topic: Let me be the first to say that I think Kano WILL not be shit-tier this time around and you know why........His has a Grappler variation.Also I think D'vorah & Kano use to date lol
 
Gotta say this might end up being the first time Kano isn't on my ignore list.
 
I'm fucking loving these design updates and creative changes to make old characters cooler.
This is why I'm glad they're taking the risk to make MK X like Street Fighter 3 Third Strike with all the new characters/older versions of previous characters

I'm loving the looks for everything so far (though admittedly I'm not too into Kotal Kahn). I just hope my beloved Mileena makes the cut.
 
I am really interested in how the variation system is going to affect more of the cast, looks interesting so far and Kano looks frigging awesome in that trailer.
 
Well it looks like that cyborg Kano from Wreck-It Ralph just became that much more accurate to the character all of a sudden. Still waiting on my cyborg of choice, my man Cyrax though.
 
Ed Boon teased "Ketchup and Mustard" on Twitter, the beta names for Sektor and Cyrax.
And don't forget, neither of them were accounted for in the body count of MK 9, so they're probbaly jamming in.
More advanced robotics? I can dig it.

I would love to see Mustard return after he rebuild himself, got rid of the metal armor of the Lin Kuei and now fights without it, but still utilizes his inner augments / the ones he needs to survive. Or maybe he just redesigned himself with a new armor and the helmet closes before battle. That would be awesome.

Fuck yeah, Goro! But pre-order bonus? That sucks. I hope the bonus is that he is unlocked from the start, as opposed to that you have to unlock him first, and not the character as a whole.
 
Are they really doing pre order characters when there is only have a third of the cast known as this point ?

Well they probably have the characters they have in mind there they are just fully made in the games engine yet so I guess the developers would find this more reasonable then the audience who don't know who all the character yet.

Plus Goro sounds like a good incentive and shows another character who will be returning to the series.

Its not typical for NRS, that’s why I hope its just a shortcut-unlock and not the whole character as DLC.

If they really do this I will consider ignoring this game for a while, because complete characters as pre-order bonus for a FG is bullshit.

I think DLC Characters are BS in general unless done right, But I feel like this DLC stuff is becomming bigger and bigger, like P4A had only cosmetics in the first game as DLC but now there are 3 DLC characters 8 bucks each, but this really isnt the thread for that

though is nt it awfully early to announce DLC characters right now?
 
Just wait until the console exclusive characters come about, that would probably be a nuisance I imagine.

those are probably one of the main reasons why I dislike MK, having to have a console to learn a matchup is awful and what if some one uses a console character that isnt the same console used at tournaments? It is awful in my opinion

I generally like them the way NRS does them: Release the game, don’t talk about DLC for a month and then slowly start to release them, like 4-5 in general. It makes me want to play the game longer, because I want to try out the new characters. And the way NRS do them, like that you can play the characters if your enemy bought them or that you get free new costumes with compatibility patches is pretty nice.

The times in the entire Mortal Kombat franchise when you could play as Goro can be counted on one hand.

I think this time around he will be a normal combatant in the tournament and fight for his own goals, because he is no one's champion or henchman anymore. He may fight for his race or something, or to take back his place as a Prince, since the Shokan determine their rulers through strength.

But yeah it is pretty cool to have Goro playable again. I really want a playable Shao Kahn somewhere in the future too.
 
Yeah, and even then, the times when he wasn't overpowered as a boss character can only be counted twice
Deception (And even then, Gamecube Exclusive), and Armageddon (And we all know how that turned out)
 
This doesn't sound like pay-to-win at all. Preorder now for god mode.

Yup, and exactly for the reason you already wrote down: Because someone who doesn’t own the other console can't really learn the matchup well. Also, DLC characters who are released a few weeks prior to tournaments are banned too.

You should try some MK dude, it's fun :)

But I think it's safe to say that there will be no Injustice-characters in this game. But... Lobo finally being Lobo in a video game would be fucking awesome.

Kinda hypocritical of them when they violently kill DC characters all the time in the comics. Need I remind WB of things like....oh I don't know....COUNTDOWN?! Or the shit they keep letting Frank Miller do w/ Batman?!

Considering Superboy-Prime flashfried a pregnant woman in Countdown and no one at DC thought that wasn't too inappropriate to cut out, yeah my claims of hypocrisy still stand.
 
Lots of people will pre-order just for Goro as he was one of those original "I want to play as THAT GUY" characters back in 1992.

I think he was playable in some of the later games though, right?
