Apparently you can still play the beta if you switch the games folder name to the same as MKX and launch the base game on your list. :P

In case anyone wants to play a friend with the KP2 characters. :D

Since Injustice 2 is due in less than 3 months, I was thinking of playing alot of MKXL online to get the most out of all the DLC I got.
Problem is that I'm too nervous to get online because people have been playing for two years, and a vast majority of the characters I don't want to see Fatalityed, so that kind of limits my play options
 
if you aren't comfortable getting fatalitized why are you even playing MK

How big of a role does Gore play in Mortal Kombat?
Just a question I've been wondering for a while since I've come across the peeps going absolutely rabid over the thought of putting a 'no gore' or 'No Blood' option in the game. Saying the peeps who would want the option shouldn't play the game in the first place, 'Why would you want to take out the best part of the game' and various other stuff I can't repeat here. ╹ ╹)

Just got me wondering if peeps really do only play the game for the gore and if it never really was about the fighting as much as turning the other guy into a bloody pile of ground beef and broken bones.
 
well with how polished some of the games are (read: full of balancing issues out the ass), I wouldn't be surprised.

That tends to be an opinion more casuals hold. Imo I like the combat overall (wish meter burning was simpler pre IJ2 though) but the gore doesnt mean anything to me. My friends disagree and love the 'style'/disrespect factor of fatalities and brutalities and all that. It's really up to how much you like that stuff.

I can understand that but, when is enough enough? And why treat the idea of toning it down or the idea of an option of toning it down like the black plague?

personally, The new games look pretty fun from a gameplay perspective. With the number of characters, The styles you can pick from that will massively change who they are as a fighter and so on; It's all really cool! n_n
Though I just find the gore and stuff distracting and kinda gross in an "I don't wanna play this" kinda way since I tend to over-sympathize with the peep I'm playing most of the time; Making games like this a nightmare for me lolz. Cringing in sympathy pain when I see the new things like X-Ray moves where you can literally SEE the bones break as you attack. (Me: The guy snapped both of your legs like freak'in toothpicks man, How the heck are you standing right now?! o_o) Been told to give injustice a shot since they have really similar mechanics with far less blood and gore but it really sucks that I might not be able to play one of my favorite characters because of the red fountains people burst into if you so much as touch them.

Guess Mk's just gotten to the point of edginess where it's cutting razors and people still want it to go sharper.
 
I agree for the most part. But its not much we can do about it unless NRS decides to let ppl tone it down.

If you want variation system, play Melty Blood. It also did the Variation system in basically the same way LOOOONG before MKX and it is far from gorey, just really over the top.

IJ2 is very similar to MKX, just simpler with a trait button and 3 attacks instead of 4 attacks and overall less attacks per character. Some of the Supers are basically X-rays, but not all. Gorilla Grod's is basically an X-ray for example, but Batman's is far from one. It's up to preference I guess

honestly, I can't say I see that happening anytime soon, I mean eventually they might add in the option to widen the pool for peeps who want to play the game, Get a feel for how the combos and fights work without immediately watching a dood get his spine ripped out of him through his nose. ._.)
(Got shivers typing that and I'm about 95% sure that or something like that is a legitimate fatality ~ ~)
But at the moment they're known for pushing the gore father and father and having a fanbase that mostly wouldn't have it any other way and will ridicule/make fun of most peeps who say otherwise =P

As for injustice 2, Yeah that kind of stuff is a lot more bearable ╹‿╹)
I mean yeah It still has blood but not to the volumes and levels of an MK game.
Plus the supers are more of a show of their unique powers and how they can be used ◠‿◠)
Instead of showing how gruesomely they can kill a peep with them =T

Also wait, The style system is in Melty Blood? Is that what the Phases of the Moon thing meant?! ╹‿╹)!
If so that's flipping awesome! I need to play that game again and give Aoko and Nanaya Shiki another play if that;'s the case!

Just thought I'd add in, I am in no way saying MKX is a bad game. Just that it's not for me and just saying that the main reason it's not for me is that the gore and dismemberment is a bit much imo and stops me from ever really playing the game.

Just saying that personally do not and wanted to get another peeps view on this
and see what other people who play the game think about the gore and junk ╹‿╹)

It's probably the Oracle lady from Jade's MK9 ending.
 
Excited for the new MK, specially since it's coming out on Switch. Love the new art direction with a more brighter color palette/presentation.

However, I read a rumor that-
Mileena might not be on the base roster, presumably due to plot reasons.
If that's true, it'll fucking suck, but it's NRS' decision, so I'll respect it.
 
MK 11 Reveal came up, tons of new information.
Meters have been split into Defense and Offense moves, and X-rays appear to have been replaced by "Fatal Moves", which is essentially a Desperation Attack you can only use at 33% percent doesn't always use X-rays.
Skarlet and Baraka return, along with new character Geras.
Who is quite attractive
