We already know Ridley is in, in some way.
 
It's always been interesting to me that people are like that with rosters. My immediate instinct with any new fighter is to find accurate leaks asap. But the ultimate marvel stuff leaking is a great example of why that can be bad. When expectations are not met all at once it results in people being upset, whereas with other games people were given the benefit of the doubt to come around and mull over the characters in the game over time which ultimately makes for a happier userbase. The ultimate question is when and how to deliver a sense of gratification to the people waiting for your game. It's really magical to just play a game and not know what to expect, but other people want to dissect a game completely months before it comes out.

I wander at gematsu. If it is real it has spoiled a great deal of content yet at the same time. dlc and missing Rosalina mean something new..

You know, I really want takamaru in now. Not because I really love his original game or because he would be fun to play, but because I imagine they would pull a kid icarus and reboot his series while they were at it.
Then again, I suppose ice climbers didn't get that treatment... but you know whatever.
Plus what if he gets a sakura samurai alt? Now that would be the bee's knees.
...wait now that I think about it why didn't we mention sakura samurai when we talked about eshop reps? He's even more obvious than dillon! He could have throwing frogs and daggers for two of his specials, an uppercut slash for his recovery, and a sword durability mechanic where he deals more percent and knockback at higher durability and shit percent and knockback at low durability, it degrades with each hit, and he can restore it with a whetstone.

No he really isn't. Dillon at least had a sequel so that's actually one more point he has over Sakura Samurai who has had only one game.

Well.....kinda, there was a pseudo sequel offered in Japan as a Club Nintendo bonus but I know jack crap about it other than it featured characters from SS. Hell I don't even know the name of it and any attempts to find out have backfired.

Normally I'd agree with you, but I'm not buying the 3DS version and I can't wait 2 fucking months for the Wii U version to find out. Of course it still goes without saying that before launch (US launch) any officially leaked details better be in spoiler tags, but after launch I can't guarantee I keep them in spoilers for more than a week or so.

If we're going with sequels = likelyhood then mallo confirmed because he's had two sequels.

Sakura samurai has a little more moveset differences from similar characters than I imagine dillon would. Assuming takamaru isn't also in, sakura samurai has no true peers- no one wields a katana so that would at least make his style look very different, and since daggers/frogs are a given for his specials he would play most similar to link simply because they have swords and decent projectiles. On the other hand I can't imagine dillon sharing nothing with sonic- he could have his differences but that rolling attack is always going to make him look like sonic: cowboy edition to people who don't know a lot about him. Best case scenario he would get gun towers in his special moves, but I find that rather unlikely (especially considering in the game every fight he's directly involved in doesn't get support from gun turrets.)

I hate when people think that just from the roll attack alone. It's a sign that they aren't putting enough thought into him. You pretty much put up the biggest reason he'd play different from Sonic in your last sentence. Dillon comes from a tower defense game so give him the ability to erect miniaturized versions of the gun towers you build and defend in that game and make it central around his gameplay. Think Pac-Man's fire hydrant only additional button presses control when the tower fires. And there's plenty of items he could use from his games too: dynamite, various crystals, snake oil, ect. Hell his rolling attack has more in common w/ Jigglypuff's Roll Out than Sonic's Spin Dash.

It's kinda stupid to say he'd be like Sonic when they really don't have anything in common. He and Mallo are the only two w/ sequels to their games. Again, Sakura Samurai hasn't had any sequels other than that one I just linked to whose name I can't find out and even then that game didn't star him. It starred a Japanese priest named Kageshina.

A new 3DS version trailer was shown in Japan. Some new footage, and what I at first thought was a Steel Diver stage, but upon closer inspection, I think it's a trophy. Doesn't discount that it's not a stage, however, as it looks like a diorama.

Plus Luigi headbutts a Bulborb. 10/10.

Yep, it's a trophy, it uses the same background as all the other trophy pics used like Saria, Poppant, or Phosphora.
 
Guys

Watch the video at 32 seconds in. Look at Marth, and notice how you can't see his eyes. It looks like he's wearing a mask.

Am I the only one that see's this? Just a trick of the lighting, or possibly a Lucina alt?
 
Perhaps it was the lighting. I don't see them letting something like that slip in the game unnoticed.

Starting off July strong! Mac is the first character with 2 confirmed alts (different from recolors, like the Mac on the right), including one which is more than just a reskin of his model. Sakurai seems to be going all out with the costumes this time around. I approve.
 
That awkward moment when 2 Little Mac players both try to select the pink sweatshirt alt first is now a reality.

He's got one alt costume. The wireframe is a recolor by that definition (retexture or texture swap is probably more accurate but hey whatever floats your boat.)
 
I think it's just that the Wireframe Mac seems like a more "advanced" retexture, similar to Link's Skyward Sword Civilian clothing. Those are a lot more interesting than a simple actual color swap.

There was a few in Brawl, looking back. I'd say both the Dark Link's and Toon Link's "Classic Link" costume fit that niche, along with Ness's Mr. Saturn shirt.

regardless, the fact that we got a Mac update on Canada Day is awesome. Punch-Out!! was I'm pretty sure the first Nintendo game developed in Canada that wasn't Mario Strikers and this makes me happy. Plus it's an awesome update too! Guh Sakurai I love you so much.

obviously we'll get a Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. character revealed on that day
 
I would main Captain Rainbow yesterday if he was announced.

Anyway, I doubt we will get anything significant towards Independence Day save for anything normally special like a character/stage reveal, but if there was, my best guess would be something EarthBound related, or at least Mother 1 since it actually takes place in America/"Eagleland".
