You know, to be honest with you, I never played a game in the Street Fighter series. Just curious, but what's the new Street Fighter stage from? Certainly doesn't look like a street for fighting on.
I'm curious as to whether there will be more revealed in the Smash presentation besides that which has been leaked.
I wouldn't imagine anything more than a new character trailer, one that we don't know from Nintendo for some reason putting it in the game before it's officially announced.
But,
seriously,
like,
"Hey Mr. Sakurai, are you sure we should upload all the character files before the official announcement?"
"Don't fucking question me."
"It's just that the fans already knew about this just from us adding their victory themes, you don't think they'll notice when we add everything that's going to be revealed in this special announcement at the biggest conference in the world?"
"It is not your place to wonder such things, now do as you're told."
"Yes, Mr. Sakurai."

Actually, I think they upload the update data way in advance and create a backup server with everything + the update stuff and when the time comes, they essentially flip a switch and switch over to the updated server and so everyone connects and downloads the updated shit. That's how most of the youtube stuff happens too. They uplaod the videos but make them invisible and then flip the switch when it's time to reveal them.
So maybe someone just sat on the switch accidentally.

Ryu's stage from Street Fighter II (1991) It's suppose to be the rooftop of a Dojo or something. In fact they have done this a few times (3rd Strike and Capcom vs SNK 2). So another rooftop stage I presume.
It seems like some people don't want the leaks to spoil the new characters for them, so if you can, please spoiler it.
I haven't had time to read up on everything leaked, because I'm glancing onto Skullheart when I can. How much, if anything, about Ryu's playstyle has been confirmed? I know we've seen a screen of one of his moves in this particular thread, so I'm guessing something has been revealed?
Is he just like Ryu from SF just edited slightly for Smash? Or is he just a new Smash character with SF inspiration? How faithful is it?

All we have are stills from his custom moves screen (of which he has none) and his Classic Mode complete movie, so it's a little hard to tell. We know his neutral special is a Focus Attack which is odd, and he has different voice lines for all his moves so either Smash has finally gotten less annoyingly repetitive with it's voice work or he has EX attacks.

Oigh, his voice is going to sound really out of place in Smash.
I like how they're bringing quite a few of his special attacks, although it was to be expected, I suppose. I'm not a big SF fan; is Focus Attack from one of the games? What can we expect it to do, based on what it did before, if it is already an established thing?
Anyways, thanks for the little overview of what exactly was leaked.

Focus Attacks are an SFIV thing, they have a lot of start up but have armor against normal attacks and break shields.
Dunno if they'll break shields here, but the image suggests that it's going to have a lot of armor on it, as Mario is attacking him as he's charging it up.
Focus Attack is a mechanic from SFIV: press MP+MK and you do a move that has one hit of armor that can be canceled into at the cost of meter and can be canceled out of by dashing.
If what I theorize is correct, Ryu is likely going to have a super meter of some kind and he'll be able to pull off some dumb SFIV type stuff with that move.
I'm liking Roy's new design, it seems like a mix between his classic and Awakening designs. Not quite sure how to feel about the bellbottoms, but the cape looks cool. Also, learning FADC combos on a GameCube controller is gonna suuuuck.

Yep, I'm a huge fan of it, and I don't even mind the bellbottoms. It just looks really nice and it's a perfect update to his Melee model. Probably going to end up using him.

I'm not saying that the bellbottoms look bad, just that they're a bit odd. I don't remember any prior Roy design having them. I'm also definitely going to play him, Lucina just doesn't quite fit that C-tier shaped hole in my heart.

It is Ryu's stage from Street Fighter II [/spoilers]
so I've calmed down but I still need to make good on my word and eat someone's soul
any takers
you could probably pursue a nice career in law or business once you lose your soul
Not entirely sure on this, but it looks like Roy's neutral B and side smash have switched, the same way they were in Melee. I figured that'd be the case back when they were first leaked, but, um, it's one difference.
Yeah, the neutral special seems to be back to the chop. The only thing I can notice is different from Melee Roy is the animation for the up special may have been changed.
Roy does a bunch of weird reverse grip moves in this game apparently. You can see him do it during his fsmash animation along with the up special animation.
Basically he's Sol Badguy and I'm perfectly okay with that.
