Marie's story trailer, release date 26th. Not much to comment on, other than we now know who will "kill" her in her story mode.
Not that I have seen. I think it's probably taking a long time and they don't have their full resources working on it cause it's a lot of work that they can't monetise. It will probably be one huge update once they have all the necessary changes ready.
Happy 12th Birthday to us!!

Mainly sharing this here because this is the first official mention of Valentine's visual update we've seen/heard in a while (as far as I'm aware).
It's not impossible that Guest Stars have been a long-existing idea, so do you think it's at all probable that the "leaks" we saw during animation streams could be related?
Apologies if this isn't all of them; these are just the ones I have saved.

I suppose we won't know without official confirmation or unless these sprites appear in-game.
Not sure about this one. Anyway, would be nice if they would tie it into Guest Stars idea. Like referencing the "leaked" frames, or adding the exact same roster.
I have my doubts. The "leaks" were in october of 2021 (mid Umbrella dev), and the first indication we got for guest stars was in may of 2023 (after Dahlia).
From the fact that the season pass is called Season 1, I think that they went with guest stars mid Dahlia development when they realised that they didn't have the pipeline to make and implement full characters efficiently.
Feng seems to be the most likely candidate, really. She's quite popular (and I hope they would implement something from her proposed playstyle).
"Don't bring a gun to a giant robot fight." - Brain Drain probably.

I wish ;-;
Yeah I forgot about that poll. Wouldn't be surprised if it had a big part in determining who were the first 3 guest stars. Especially with a new feature such as this, I think they are more likely go with the most popular characters first. I think further down the line if Guest Stars prove to be successful then they might take more risk with more niche characters that have interesting gameplay potential.Maybe the plan is to fill the roster with a bunch of characters from different fractions. Then, playable Stanley or Isaac would make sense. If they want to surprise us, they always could get Scythana in the game, too (not very likely, but would be interesting).
Anyway, I'm sure the answer lies somewhere in the recent SGM character poll (if you don't go into the stuff like moveset concepts or implementation).
Interesting that they used a 3D model for his head in his face-forward pose but not for other poses. Giant Brain Drain is definitely unexpected but I assume it's like some sort of mental illusion Brain Drain creates in his opponent's mind or something.
Maybe he keeps a giant copy of his robotic body somewhere.
Personally, I think that his proposed playstyle would fit for assists perfectly (Parasoul operates in a similar way, though).
That's kind of interesting, because Squigly and Marie can interact with the K.O.'d bodies in SGM... Well, of sorts. But these mechanics are relatively new, so it might be a step in a certain direction.
We'd certainly hope so! We fell in love with Scythana in high school because her mechanic is one of the rare ones that tells so much about her character: Picking up people's K.O.'d bodies like makeshift weapons is as blunt as it is hilariously brutal to her opponents. And most other fighting games just have the character "blip" out after K.O., so it really can only be done in Skullgirls. Hence our thought process that these characters should ~usually~ have higher priority since it's such a fun way to interact with the game.
I think with the pace that they could put out Guest Stars, Adam is a very real, yeah, but I just don't think he will be part of the first batch.
Interesting idea, but the giant Brain Drain also has a giant brain in the glass dome on his head and I'm not sure if Brain Drain keeps a massive spare brain around lol.
It would be a huge surprise if he'll be the third character in this pack.
One of Fukua's backstories mentions that Brain Drain likes cloning. Is not very canon, of course, but neither is Robo-Fortune's ending. Nothing stops him from having a closet full of giant brains
It definitely is!
*cries in YouTube*
Reliable organic assistants are so hard to find these days... And so Robo-Valentine is ready to wreak pint-sized chaos!

But Brain Drain doesn't seem the type to stop at creating just ONE new minion...

I can't unsee that they use the new design of Valentine alongside the old one.
I'm rooting for Mini-Fukua.
A closer look at some of Brain Drain's toyyy...Very Serious Robotic Weaponry. Brain Drain can summon these terrors in battle for an explosive edge!

GunDAMN they look good. Which one is your favorite? pic.twitter.com/1vDV8PIEwg
Looks like some food gets throw to the opponent's side the causes damage or debuffs, and some get thrown to your side that gives health and buffs. Pretty neat.

Official Hidden Variable Statement Regarding Skullgirls Development pic.twitter.com/GCbKrinDPq
— Hidden Variable (@Hidden_Variable) March 6, 2025
It appears that the issue involves a payment dispute. Autumn Games appears to have not paid Hidden Variable for their work on Skullgirls Mobile during November 2024 onwards to January, with approximately 1.2 million dollars left unpaid. This was after an agreement was signed in October 2024 for a payment schedule. Hidden Variable believes that Autumn intentionally chose to not deliver payments by specifically searching for a new developer for SGM while also entering into this payment schedule. This all seemingly occurred after Autumn Games attempted to be sold off.
Since this is an active court case, I don't recommend coming to definitive conclusions yet, but I will say that it definitely appears to be that communication between Autumn Games and Hidden Variable broke down to a degree that is irreparable.
