Anyone here is watching the current Toei tokusatsu (Ex-Aid and Kyuranger) ?

Also i still dislike those movie suits, they look too cluttered and edgy for the sake of looking edgy (reminds me of the recent Fantastic four film and that's not a good thing at all)
Movie might turn out ok though?
 
For those that didn't know, Twitch has been streaming every single episode of Power Rangers, all 831 episodes, all 23 episodes.
They've breezed past Mighty Morphin', made it through Zeo, and almost died because of Turbo
Right now they're on Power Rangers in Space if any of you wanna watch, I suggest you do, Chat's hilarious
 
I'll probably skip out on it. I love some of the seasons of Power Rangers, but I really don't want to give SABAN the time of day.
 
At least the second half of turbo is better than the first.

reviving this thread to talk about a sentai I need to hit the halfway point before I jump in because holy shit everything I sen't about this series just hits all kinds of marks for me!

like, just this cast is ridiculous! you have a literal moebot, a wolfman alien who is the last of his kind, a buff as fuck robo-bisonman, and a golden robot voiced by Josuke Higashikata!

Oh hey i forgot about this topic.
I really like Kyuranger so far, a bit too fast for me but that's understable with such a big roster.

I thought i'd hate Stinger but now i realize he's actually my fave so far with Garu. (It helps his brother is Takatora from Gaim :^) )

Also did anyone see the Power rangers movie ? A bunch of my mutuals on twitter saw it and actually liked it ? I wonder if i should go see it myself or wait for it to be released on dvd/bluray

Still not a fan of those suits at all but...

from what I've heard, its just mediocre okay.
I'd say wait to get it for cheap.
 
Note the elephant in the room. I changed my avatar for the most recent KR series, airing in September! They cut down Ex-Aid to 44.5 episodes (I think). Leaving us to get hype for...

I think it was 45 eps, true ending will be in the upcoming movie.
Anyway yeah, really digging that new Rider so far, getting some Kabuto vibes from the plot alone and what they showed of him so far.

Oh yeah interesting stuff to note, opening the Pandora box actually destroyed Japan into three parts with something called a "Sky Wall"
That very box also unleashed monsters called "Smash".

Our new hero's catchphrase is "Well, let's start the experiment!", he is described as a genius phycist with the highest IQ in history.
 
So a translation group picked up the Kamen Rider Kuuga manga that has been coming out for a while. If you're aware of the original series, bear in mind that this is a re-imagining of the original premise from what I saw in the first chapter. The Grongi are more monstrous in appearance for one, Ichijou is the perceptive character and a lot prettier than before, and the order of events and presentations are all different.

Going to keep my eye on it but just wanted to give the few of use still here a heads up.

Any of you guys experts in telling me this:

I want to start watching the whole series from W, and then keep going. Tell me all the crossover episodes so I should avoid them.
 
There are no crossover episodes except the final one in Wizard, but that also leads into Gaim so you can watch that.

And I certainly hope you’re gonna give Showa and classic Heisei a chance
Or at least watch Kuuga and Agito on the Heisei side.
 
To my knowledge (and it's been years since I watched W) The crossovers are always movies. I can ask around though.
 
Recent shows had a post-finale episode having the new rider appearing, either as a quick cameo, or helping the current rider at the time of the airing.
Usually it's the last one and they're worth watching imo.
As @PaperBag_Sniper said, the actual crossovers take place in the winter movies, called Movie War.

The one crossover ep you can avoid it's the Gaim/Kikaider movie (ep 30 of KR Gaim) you can ignore it it's totally ignored in the next eps. (at least it has funny scenes?)
 
Well, there's that one Gaim episode featuring Kikaider, and I believe that there is an Ex-Aid episode where he faced Shishi Red of Kyuranger. That's all I got.
