I love bigbands design, but it does seem like he needs something more. I always thought that him having armored normals would make perfect sense with their slow in general startup (looking at you, cr.hp and cr.hk)
I LOVE C.HP! It's my favorite move of his!
With that out of the way, I thought about armor at one time too... but that is kind of PWs thing already. I'd also agree with most people that he doesn't really need more armor. Just ways to make his current moves better or even useful.
Anyway, time for more suggestions for Big Band.
I'd like to see what would be possible if you could control Big Band's direction during the 2nd half of j.mk.. providing it gained cerecopter like suction to prevent your opponent from dropping out (on hit). It would be nice to be able to sink him downward for a quasi-fast-fall so that you might be able to pick up a combo off of a lower jmkx2 confirm on shorter characters. You could also use it to reposition to a better height/distance away from the wall for the j.hk wall bounce. Or you could just super jump backwards and float there occasionally for giggles. I'm sure there could be all kinds of other applications for it... If nothing else I think it would be fun.
Time to talk about his jump punches. What if he could use his jump punches in any order? And depending on which order you used, it would alter your opponent's trajectory? So, L,M,H knocks them upward and away right? How about H,M,L bringing them downward and into Big Band?
So that you might be able to do something like c.lk, c.mk, s.hp, j.lk, j.mkx2, j.hp, j.mp, j.lp (pulls them in and to the ground) > land continue combo?
I can't help but feel his only two air normals that are any good are j.lk and occasionally j.hk. These kind of changes would at least give you a reason to consider using other normals as options in the neutral game.
I'm starting to wonder why I care so much about all of these things on Big Band...
I mean, nothing about PWs flaws has made me complain this much!! lmao!
