Weird or Unusual headcanons

also umbrella is the princess she can just execute anyone not parasoul who says otherwise
and parasoul kiiiinda spoils her a little

Every business in the kingdom has a photo of her on the wall with a sign reading "do not refuse this girl anything, she is entirely legally allowed to have you killed."

Her face is REALLY long.
Hey, some people like gals with longer elegant faces...such individuals may have an electric personality...and fight crime in a mechanical Dingo mask...and like to voice Brain Drain....

WHY WOULD YOU LET A TEN YEAR OLD DYE HER HAIR HOT PINK THEN.
Oh I guess it makes more sense that Umbrella was just born with pink hair.

Think about what you're saying.

Anime influenced universe with animal people present and having blue or teal hair isn't a big deal.

It could be possible that Nancy has pink hair ya know.

This is a world with fish men, cat girls, evil goddesses/cosmic horrors and reality warping tweens.

It's not completely impossible.

But what if Beowulf dyes his hair because he's going grey

I can see Beo being a member of the Hair Club for Men.

I'm not sure why we're all so in a fuss about people in this game's universe having naturally weird anime hair colors when there are some really illogical anime hair styles regardless of color anyways

It's not like anime hair automatically makes Skullgirls a omgz teh animu =^____^= weeaboo game or anything jeesh

Clearly there are much more important things we could be discussing.
Like each character's preferred type of yogurt.

Of corpse you dead.
Lol, for a second, I read that post with your sig and I imagined that after the pun, instead of a laugh track a horrifyingly loud pterodactyl screech would be played!

My god, my lack of pun knowledge is a catatrophy

Back on topic? Is it just me or does Skullgirls have a slight 20th century art feel?

It does, and it's intentional. "Early 20th century" covers pretty much every single one of the game's art motifs. It's got "Deco" right there in the description when you go to buy the game P:

  • On occasion, Venus likes screwing around with the reality of the world, changing genders, making roles reverse, etc. Aeon is always stuck rebooting the world back to normal.
  • On even rarer occasions, Venus makes Double help.
  • Aeon occasionally makes Doujin under a psueduom(sp?) and publishes it in the skullgirls world.

I know the art deco bit is definite canon, however, a lot of skullgirls seems to reference 16-19th century works too. Parasoul and Umbrella's last name is Renoir, which as stated is the name of a fairly famous Impressionist painter, The Medici are named not only after the Patrons of the arts during the Renaissance but also produced 4 popes and two Queens (Ironically, one of the Queen's names? Marie de Medici').

More headcanon. Or maybe this should be called "haircanon"

- Umbrella's hair is pink because, in reality, it should be red like Parasoul's, but her skullgirl blood causes her hair to be lighter than it should be because skullgirl hair is white. So her hair isn't PINK but is, in fact, LIGHT-ISH RED.
- Cerebella's secret is that her natural hair color is blonde. Notice how in most of her alternate colors she is blonde. She colors her hair to stand out and because she resents a certain blonde Medici, Filia, because Filia has what she perceives as an "easy life" due to her high-standing as an heir to the family.

Well, then maybe people shouldn't have gotten so miffed over the topic. Weird hair colors are just A Thing That Happens in SG, whether it's natural or characters dye their hair is irrelevant. SG is full of all manners of oddities and you guys pick on the one that is easily explained with "because it's cool and that's what the artist chose".

I'm just curious how, biologically speaking, Umbrella could have pink hair because, assuming we classify pink hair as a variation of red hair, black hair, which Queen Nancy seemed to have, is still a dominant gene and should leave both of the princesses with black hair rather than their father's re-

What a hair-raising conversation!

You motherfucker.

The anime hair gene is always dominant. Whatever color looks the coolest is the one the character gets, regardless of the parents' hair colors.

Red hair ain't anime, yo.

Yes, that nice young fellow is pointing. It is a known fact that Jotaro from Jojo points, therefore according to my perfect Shocking logic, he is an anime character.
