"Ghost in the Shell: Arise is another animated iteration that takes place in yet another alternate setting"
"In 2002, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex premiered on Animax, presenting a new telling of Ghost in the Shell independent from the original manga"
Stop being retarded, thanks.
Mobile Fighter G Gundam. that one was great.
that's fine. not everybody likes long-running anime.
Honestly at that point I assume that the anime has a manga and I read that.
What's wrong with Sword Art Online?
I'm more or less the same, though I judge more by the episode count than the number of series, and I'm normally game to watch the first series of something. That said, the only anime I've seen that I'd consider 'long' would be YuYu Hakusho.
I mean. As soon as you realize that the good guy wins 99% of the fights in any anime/cartoon/movie/book/comic book/video game, you start to realize that every "reason" a character wins is because that's how it was writen. It's not Kirito's fault, and the writer's only sin is not hiding it as well as others have.
Two things. In one try on his first day in the game, he not only gets further than everyone else in the impossible game, he beats it. Why? Because we're to believe that he just understood the game better than everyone because he broke the game down to formula. Keep in mind Gun Gale Online is an MMO and eSports; Kirito knows how to play the game better than people that have been playing it for years in an MMO where people play for money. Then he proceeds to peace out competitors in the tournament with no problem.
How many Anime did that just describe? I’m sure wincest isn’t as common (even though iirc it's socially acceptable for cousins to get married in Japan), but still.
This, too. I mean, all in all, I can understand if someone dislikes it, but I don't see why it gets picked on specifically. It's not the creme da le creme of Anime, sure, but there's a lot worse out there. I see someone say "fuck SAO" every other week. IDGI.
First, the way I see it, he levels like a Disgaea character. Hits a really high level, reincarnates, and brings the stats and skills with him to new games. He’s most likely gotten high level passive skills from SAO. I can imagine him already having a skill allowing him to predict the path of attacks, and since it was a skill that was never designed to be in GGO its OP in comparison to that game’s bullet path system.
Second, your analogy about dabbling in another game doesn’t work. He didn’t dabble in SAO, he lived and breathed it nonstop for over a year (iirc). That’s a big difference from casually playing MVC2 and winning Skullgirls your first day. I personally feel live Life-and-death-play > playing-for-money, but that may just be me. And to add to that, we already see top players from other games just hoping into new ones and winning the whole thing with a weeks practice in the FGC. There ain't but a handful of SG players who can beat Chris G (sadly) even though he's only played the game for a week or so back before SDE.
I thought I remembered him using a SAO sword skill in the fantasy one? And in the fantasy one, he was looking at all the stuff he had from SAO and some of it was incompatible with the new game, meaning he did bring his things with him. Hmm, maybe I should rewatch it.
That's a fair point. It did feel really rushed. I didn't read the manga but how much did they cut out, do you know?I WILL however say it's a prime example of what happens when you try to condense two seasons' worth of material into one and how it's an example of doing this 26-episode long series thing wrong. The ALO arc should've been Season 2 while Season 1 just focused solely on SAO. And that both seasons should've been at least 30 episodes at minimum.
Now you need to stop right there mister, because tons of anime may do it but it doesn't make it any less bullshit. SAO hastily tries to jump on every bandwagon it can find, and it makes it pretty awful to watch. I mean, there's a fucking tentacle rape scene in the first season. Just why.
Not saying it isn't bullshit, saying why go "Fuck SAO" when the things it does are a part of Anime in general. Instead of shunning one example and pretending like it's this one example fucking up, why don't you say "fuck anime" and fight that battle instead. Cause there's TONS OF SHIT wrong with Anime that no one wants to really deal with. I don't mind, cause cartoons, but if you are going to get so upset at one cartoon cause of these reasons, I can't imagine why you'd point to any one cartoon specifically when the majority of them do it.
Wow. Well that explains what MAPPA is and why Madhouse has been animating mainstream shows like NGNL and Hanayamata.
"Tentacle Molestation." There you go. I'm pretty sick of people arguing semantics every time I mention that scene, or any other similar scene in other series though. It's a strip tease; they stop it because that's the furthest they could go without bumping their rating up too high, so they just let you imagine the rest. It wouldn't really be any better or worse if they actually showed any penetration because the complete loss of power and fetishization and random needless pandering was already done. If they had gone further the rest of the scene would have just been disgusting, all the lasting damage is still there. That's why I hate random meaningless elicit scenes like this- not because rape is gross, but because it can ruin characters and make them completely unlikable when you do it incorrectly. Looking at you, Lumpy Space Princess.
