Why is Filia Homeless?!

Yes, Samson would be just another one of my vampires. I'd do anything to help Filia out of that homeless life.

But i gotta admit she looks pretty damn good with it, i wouldn't mind having a 5th child with her.

Back on topic again, i find it funny a lot of people make artworks of Filia eating junk food because it's one of her likes, but she probably doesn't have the money to pay for said type of food, unless Samson has something to do with it, maybe he pickpockets people that passes by them to steal their money.

I like how rapidly this forum changed from being about having genuine concern over Filia's welfare, to thick Filia jokes, to being about fantasies involving the adoption of Filia/other Skullgirls characters and turning them into Vampires, to an Eliza waifu appreciation thread, and then back to Filia being homeless.

Thread watched.

Related to the topic though, junk food isn't particularly expensive. If she is poor then it would probably one of the few things she could afford. Also hobos probably don't have ovens.

Not sure if that's to do with her being homeless or not though. It's probably a "whatever looks cool" thing. Also her backstory/relationship with Samson was different then I think as well.

Does Filia actually mind being homeless/a couch surfer though? Maybe it's not so bad since she has Samson (and various pigeons) with her.

I thought her skirt was ripped because of the fights she's been in.

Samson killed her parents and gave her amnesia originally I believe. He also had far more control over her? Correct me if I'm wrong...

That first sprite for the old SG is pretty good, second is attrocious...

I think that idea for Samson was pretty old (third paragraph), and I'm not sure if it's still relevant to the canon or not. I think the idea inspired/is related to the Indiegogo version of Samson though, which is kinda new.

Also there are more sprites in this gallery, but there are some missing from there and are on other pages of the wiki.

I did read about Filia's parents being killed by Samson and it's not too far fetched, maybe he did it for her own good? but it doesn't explain why Filia seems to miss her mother, i'm also sure there is more to Filia's parents that we are yet to know, like why she goes "This is for my parents!" when defeating Marie, or why she says "Sorry mom..." when defeated, she might even know about the whole Medici mafia business but forgot about it when her memories were erased.

Yeah, I meant in the non-canon SkullgirlS, whith that weird capital S at the end...The old game has a lot of weird canon in comparison to how things currently are.

Well if she has amnesia it means she can't remember her parents, right? Maybe she didn't even love them (probably still did but that's besides the point) and it could be a natural parental longing she is looking for. Looking for them/wanting to do them proud is probably a philosophy you would want to achieve if you lost your memories (also a free bed at the parents place would be nice).

Or maybe she knows more then we think. I mean she remembered Carol. I still think this whole situation with the Medici's taking this long to find Filia odd.

Also topic related, Samson Pickpocketing people seems a fair enough way to give him and Filia some survivability, and maybe he gets enough money so that Filia can try to get even more at the Casino, would explain why River King Casino is one of the few stages in Arcade Mode to have Solo Filia in it.

I had a conversation with a friend long ago about Filia and her headcanons and other stuff, and we both came to an agreement that Filia's Story Mode might need a rework, so it can cover some of the misteries behind her and Samson, as well as maybe make it longer and have her fight some other of the girls for good reasons, in the original Story Mode one has to fight some girls that are unrelated to Filia and for no reason at all (Parasoul being the biggest example), that would help to develop Filia's character along with giving her some relevance in other story modes, like how she was given some in Squigly's.

The Arcade Mode isn't completely randomized? Didn't know that.

Also if they used the casino it would probably be Samson gambling, not Filia. Unless her mafia blood kicks in or something. I can imagine Samson being pretty experienced in stuff like that.

Edit: Nevermind, forgot the casino probably discriminates against parasites. That's a thing, right?

Yup, Parasite racism is a thing, which is probably why Filia is constantly wearing/buying hats, i can actually picture Filia giving gambling a shot with Samson whispering in her ear or something.

About the Arcade Mode, it's not really that random, Solo Filia only uses 3 stages: River King Casino, Medici Tower and sometimes Maplecrest.
 
Odd stage choices. If Filia had gone to Medici tower in her story mode she would have found her family a lot quicker. I get that she is a Medici though, so Medici stages.

Like I said before though, maybe Filia isn't 'homeless' as such as she is actually alright finding houses to bum in. She gets to chill at fancy milkshake bars.

Also Peacock wishing for oxygen to be turned into chocolate was going to proper canon if implementing multiple endings could have be done. So that isn't apart of SkullgirlS old canon.

I think the reason she is in Medici Tower is because she appears in the background if she is not played (she appears very briefly, outside the window covering herself with a gray cloth or something like that).

She probably can afford milkshakes for the exact reasons she can buy junk food, pickpocketing money, but i don't really like to think into it using Filia Story Mode's intro and ending, she is somehow able to kee attending school.

Peacock's crazy wishes were gonna be in the actual canon? Damn......

I kind of thought maybe filia used to be a dick? Like she's had all of her memories removed but we know she did something to painwheel and she was directly involved with the mafia. It's never really explained what her role is, but that means she could have been an innocent bystander or another leg breaker like cerebella

How long has Filia been homless? Because she and her clothes look to clean to have been homless for long.
 
I actually think she may not have been someone like Cerebella, but more bred to be that cuthroat kind of prick. She was definately stuck up before, it was implied for awhile.

The homeless clothes are Rule of Cool.

Filia could've been ignorant before memory loss, such as doing things without realizing the consequences. Perhaps she did somthing so bad to someone (ie carol) that she finally realized the weight of her actions and wanted samson to erase her memory so she's not guilt ridden.

that's been implied a lot, but she does recognize Carol, and Carol doesn't seem to hold a grudge against Filia or anything of the sorts, maybe Filia was just the spoiled rich-b*tch that made everyone else feel bad about themselves.

It could also be that something horribly wrong happened to her parents or something, i even did think about a theory, that maybe her father was gonna force her into working for the mafia, Filia didn't want to, her mother stepped in to prevent it, and was killed for that, then maybe Samson killed her father before he could kill/force Filia into working for the mafia and then erased her memory at her request or just so she couldn't remember that tragic day (this could explain a little why she quotes her mother in a losing line, or both her parents in a victory line against Marie), and then, Samson's been taking advantage of her current state for his own goals (which probably is to bring back Delilah or conquest Canopy Kingdom with the skullheart's power)

2. Debatable, maybe it's that she can't return to her old home for some unknown reason.

3. Alex stated that she does something called "Coach Surfing" thanks to some of Samson's contacts who sometimes give her a place to stay for a while, which also explains her constant clean look.

I have a theory about Carol:
  1. She's fighting brain drains control so she's not fully aware of whats going on around her or who's she's fighting.
  2. Maybe if Filia did somthing bad to carol maybe Carol dosen't blame Filia but Filia blames herself.

I don't think Filia's amnesia was something of her own request. Samson being attached to her has been hinted to be a plot by someone of higher power on order to push her towards the Skullheart.
At least I remember it being said at some point that that was meant to be Samson's job, and nothing within canon contradicts it in any way.

Filia's Story Mode is the weakest in knowing her backstory, but it also has arguably the most potential for a follow-up.

Your first 2 lines reminded me of the "Shigechi's Harvest" chapters from Part 4 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga, when the main chars were recollecting coupons and lost coins and ended up making a huge amount of money.

It's still being implied that Samson is using Filia for his own good, even Parasoul tells her about it in a losing line, and Leviathan did notice too, i'd say it's both too but there is still the posibility Filia wasn't posessed by her request.

I don't know, something tells me that Samson is not that evil of a parasite, i mean, he protects fillia, and in squigly story he and filia decidet to help squigly defeat Marie, something tells me that Samson at certain level cares about Filia.

I have a question. So like about the Skullheart and such turning her evil, when she becomes the next Skullgirl, do you think she will still wield Samson? Or is he going to die? I was thinking that he might die because a Skullgirl is undead, and when Filia "dies", so does Samson. What do you think?
 
That's a great fucking question and my only answer for that is, "Who knows?"
We have no example of a parasite using Skullgirl. Also this isn't the thread to ask that.
 
the homeless thing always threw me off but, my question was how is she a homeless Medici child in the city of Medici's? is this metropolis where everybody is completely stupid
